BIBBIA RICCIOTTI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 - Un punto capitale in quel che stiamo dicendo è questo che noi abbiamo un Sommo Sacerdote tale che si è posto a sedere alla destra del trono della Maestà [divina] nei cieli,	1 The principal point of al that we have said is that we have a high priest of exactly this kind. He hastaken his seat at the right of the throne of divine Majesty in the heavens,
2 qual ministro del santuario e del tabernacolo vero, cui eresse non un uomo ma il Signore.	2 and he is the minister of the sanctuary and of the true Tent which the Lord, and not any man, set up.
3 Ogni sommo sacerdote è posto per offrire doni e sacrifizi; onde è necessario che anche egli abbia qualcosa da offrire.	3 Every high priest is constituted to offer gifts and sacrifices, and so this one too must have something tooffer.
4 Or se egli fosse sulla terra, non sarebbe neppur sacerdote, essendovi già di tali che offrono doni secondo la Legge;	4 In fact, if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at al , since there are others who make theofferings laid down by the Law,
5 i quali attendono a un servizio divino che è copia e ombra delle cose celesti, secondo che n'ebbe divino avviso Mosè nell'atto d'innalzare il tabernacolo; «Bada, dice, tu farai ogni cosa secondo il modello che ti è stato additato sulla montagna».	5 though these maintain the service only of a model or a reflection of the heavenly realities; just asMoses, when he had the Tent to build, was warned by God who said: See that you work to the design that wasshown you on the mountain.
6 Ma ora Gesù ha ottenuto un servizio divino tanto più alto quanto di miglior patto egli è mediatore, patto fondato su migliori promesse.	6 As it is, he has been given a ministry as far superior as is the covenant of which he is the mediator,which is founded on better promises.
7 Se quel primo patto fosse senza difetti, non vi sarebbe stato il caso di porne un secondo.	7 If that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no room for a second one to replace it.
8 Giacchè gli è biasimo quello che il Signore espresse dicendo: «Ecco i giorni vengono, dice il Signore, in cui contrarrò un nuovo patto colla casa d'Israele e con quella di Giuda;	8 And in fact God does find fault with them; he says: Look, the days are coming, the Lord declares, whenI will make a new covenant with the House of Israel and the House of Judah,
9 non come il patto che feci coi padri loro nel giorno in cui li presi per mano per condurli fuori dalla terra di Egitto; perchè essi non rimasero fermi al patto mio, e io non mi curai più di loro, dice il Signore.	9 but not a covenant like the one I made with their ancestors, the day I took them by the hand to bringthem out of Egypt, which covenant of mine they broke, and I too abandoned them, the Lord declares.
10 Or questo è il patto che io stringerò colla casa d'Israele; dopo quei giorni dice il Signore: - Metterò le mie leggi nell'intelligenza loro, e sui loro cuori le scriverò, e sarò il loro Dio, ed essi saranno il mio popolo.	10 No, this is the covenant I wil make with the House of Israel, when those days have come, the Lorddeclares: In their minds I shal plant my laws writing them on their hearts. Then I shall be their God, and theyshall be my people.
11 E non avranno più da ammaestrare ciascuno il proprio concittadino e il proprio fratello dicendo: "Conosci il Signore", perchè tutti mi conosceranno dai piccoli ai grandi di loro;	11 There wil be no further need for each to teach his neighbour, and each his brother, saying 'Learn toknow the Lord!' No, they will al know me, from the least to the greatest,
12 io perdonerò alle iniquità loro e dei loro peccati non mi ricorderò più-».	12 since I shall forgive their guilt and never more call their sins to mind.
13 Parlando così di un patto nuovo, ha reso antico quel di prima; e ciò che è fatto antico ed è invecchiato, è vicino a scomparire.	13 By speaking of a new covenant, he implies that the first one is old. And anything old and ageing isready to disappear.
