Lettera ai Colossesi 2

BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Voglio infatti che sappiate quale dura lotta devo sostenere per voi, per quelli di Laodicèa e per tutti quelli che non mi hanno mai visto di persona,	1 I want you to know, then, what a struggle I am having on your behalf and on behalf of those in Laodicea,and on behalf of so many others who have never seen me face to face.
2 perché i loro cuori vengano consolati. E così, intimamente uniti nell’amore, essi siano arricchiti di una piena intelligenza per conoscere il mistero di Dio, che è Cristo:	2 It is all to bind them together in love and to encourage their resolution until they are rich in the assuranceof their complete understanding and have knowledge of the mystery of God
3 in lui sono nascosti tutti i tesori della sapienza e della conoscenza.	3 in which al the jewels of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.
4 Dico questo perché nessuno vi inganni con argomenti seducenti:	4 I say this to make sure that no one deceives you with specious arguments.
5 infatti, anche se sono lontano con il corpo, sono però tra voi con lo spirito e gioisco vedendo la vostra condotta ordinata e la saldezza della vostra fede in Cristo.	5 I may be absent in body, but in spirit I am there among you, delighted to find how wel -ordered you areand to see how firm your faith in Christ is.
6 Come dunque avete accolto Cristo Gesù, il Signore, in lui camminate,	6 So then, as you received Jesus as Lord and Christ, now live your lives in him,
7 radicati e costruiti su di lui, saldi nella fede come vi è stato insegnato, sovrabbondando nel rendimento di grazie.	7 be rooted in him and built up on him, held firm by the faith you have been taught, and overflowing withthanksgiving.
8 Fate attenzione che nessuno faccia di voi sua preda con la filosofia e con vuoti raggiri ispirati alla tradizione umana, secondo gli elementi del mondo e non secondo Cristo.	8 Make sure that no one captivates you with the empty lure of a 'philosophy' of the kind that human beingshand on, based on the principles of this world and not on Christ.
9 È in lui che abita corporalmente tutta la pienezza della divinità,	9 In him, in bodily form, lives divinity in al its ful ness,
10 e voi partecipate della pienezza di lui, che è il capo di ogni Principato e di ogni Potenza.	10 and in him you too find your own fulfilment, in the one who is the head of every sovereignty and rulingforce.
11 In lui voi siete stati anche circoncisi non mediante una circoncisione fatta da mano d’uomo con la spogliazione del corpo di carne, ma con la circoncisione di Cristo:	11 In him you have been circumcised, with a circumcision performed, not by human hand, but by thecomplete stripping of your natural self. This is circumcision according to Christ.
12 con lui sepolti nel battesimo, con lui siete anche risorti mediante la fede nella potenza di Dio, che lo ha risuscitato dai morti.	12 You have been buried with him by your baptism; by which, too, you have been raised up with himthrough your belief in the power of God who raised him from the dead.
13 Con lui Dio ha dato vita anche a voi, che eravate morti a causa delle colpe e della non circoncisione della vostra carne, perdonandoci tutte le colpe e	13 You were dead, because you were sinners and uncircumcised in body: he has brought you to life withhim, he has forgiven us every one of our sins.
14 annullando il documento scritto contro di noi che, con le prescrizioni, ci era contrario: lo ha tolto di mezzo inchiodandolo alla croce.	14 He has wiped out the record of our debt to the Law, which stood against us; he has destroyed it bynailing it to the cross;
15 Avendo privato della loro forza i Principati e le Potenze, ne ha fatto pubblico spettacolo, trionfando su di loro in Cristo.	15 and he has stripped the sovereignties and the ruling forces, and paraded them in public, behind him inhis triumphal procession.
16 Nessuno dunque vi condanni in fatto di cibo o di bevanda, o per feste, noviluni e sabati:	16 Then never let anyone criticise you for what you eat or drink, or about observance of annual festivals,New Moons or Sabbaths.
17 queste cose sono ombra di quelle future, ma la realtà è di Cristo.	17 These are only a shadow of what was coming: the reality is the body of Christ.
18 Nessuno che si compiace vanamente del culto degli angeli e corre dietro alle proprie immaginazioni, gonfio di orgoglio nella sua mente carnale, vi impedisca di conseguire il premio:	18 Do not be cheated of your prize by anyone who chooses to grovel to angels and worship them, pinningevery hope on visions received, vainly puffed up by a human way of thinking;
19 costui non si stringe al capo, dal quale tutto il corpo riceve sostentamento e coesione per mezzo di giunture e legamenti e cresce secondo il volere di Dio.	19 such a person has no connection to the Head, by which the whole body, given al that it needs andheld together by its joints and sinews, grows with the growth given by God.
20 Se siete morti con Cristo agli elementi del mondo, perché, come se viveste ancora nel mondo, lasciarvi imporre precetti quali:	20 If you have really died with Christ to the principles of this world, why do you stil let rules dictate to you,as though you were still living in the world?
21 «Non prendere, non gustare, non toccare»?	21 -'Do not pick up this, do not eat that, do not touch the other,'
22 Sono tutte cose destinate a scomparire con l’uso, prescrizioni e insegnamenti di uomini,	22 and al about things which perish even while they are being used -- according to merely humancommandments and doctrines!
23 che hanno una parvenza di sapienza con la loro falsa religiosità e umiltà e mortificazione del corpo, ma in realtà non hanno alcun valore se non quello di soddisfare la carne.	23 In these rules you can indeed find what seems to be good sense -- the cultivation of the wil , and ahumility which takes no account of the body; but in fact they have no value against self-indulgence.
