Isaia 25

BIBBIA CEI 1974	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Signore, tu sei il mio Dio; voglio esaltarti e lodare il tuo nome, perché hai eseguito progetti meravigliosi, concepiti da lungo tempo, fedeli e veri.	1 Yahweh, you are my God, I shall praise you to the heights, I shal praise your name; for you haveaccomplished marvels, plans long-conceived, faithful y, firmly.
2 Poiché hai ridotto la città ad un mucchio di sassi, la cittadella fortificata ad una rovina, la fortezza dei superbi non è più città, non si ricostruirà mai più.	2 For you have made the town a heap of stones, the fortified city a ruin. The foreigners' citadel is a cityno longer, it wil never be rebuilt.
3 Per questo ti glorifica un popolo forte, la città di genti possenti ti venera.	3 Hence mighty peoples wil honour you, the city of pitiless nations hold you in awe;
4 Perché tu sei sostegno al misero, sostegno al povero nella sua angoscia, riparo dalla tempesta, ombra contro il caldo; poiché lo sbuffare dei tiranni è come pioggia d'inverno,	4 For you have been a refuge for the weak, a refuge for the needy in distress, a shelter from the storm,shade from the heat; for the breath of the pitiless is like a winter storm.
5 come arsura in terra arida il clamore dei superbi. Tu mitighi l'arsura con l'ombra d'una nube, l'inno dei tiranni si spegne.	5 Like heat in a dry land you calm the foreigners' tumult; as heat under the shadow of a cloud, so thesong of the pitiless dies away.
6 Preparerà il Signore degli eserciti per tutti i popoli, su questo monte, un banchetto di grasse vivande, un banchetto di vini eccellenti, di cibi succulenti, di vini raffinati.	6 On this mountain, for al peoples, Yahweh Sabaoth is preparing a banquet of rich food, a banquet offine wines, of succulent food, of well-strained wines.
7 Egli strapperà su questo monte il velo che copriva la faccia di tutti i popoli e la coltre che copriva tutte le genti.	7 On this mountain, he has destroyed the veil which used to veil al peoples, the pal enveloping alnations;
8 Eliminerà la morte per sempre; il Signore Dio asciugherà le lacrime su ogni volto; la condizione disonorevole del suo popolo farà scomparire da tutto il paese, poiché il Signore ha parlato.	8 he has destroyed death for ever. Lord Yahweh has wiped away the tears from every cheek; he hastaken his people's shame away everywhere on earth, for Yahweh has spoken.
9 E si dirà in quel giorno: "Ecco il nostro Dio; in lui abbiamo sperato perché ci salvasse; questi è il Signore in cui abbiamo sperato; rallegriamoci, esultiamo per la sua salvezza.	9 And on that day, it wil be said, 'Look, this is our God, in him we put our hope that he should save us,this is Yahweh, we put our hope in him. Let us exult and rejoice since he has saved us.'
10 Poiché la mano del Signore si poserà su questo monte". Moab invece sarà calpestato al suolo, come si pesta la paglia nella concimaia.	10 For Yahweh's hand will rest on this mountain, and Moab wil be trodden under his feet as straw istrodden into the dung-heap.
11 Là esso stenderà le mani, come le distende il nuotatore per nuotare; ma il Signore abbasserà la sua superbia, nonostante l'annaspare delle sue mani.	11 He may stretch his hands wide on the mountain like a swimmer stretching out his hands to swim. Buthe wil humble his pride despite what his hands may attempt.
12 L'eccelsa fortezza delle tue mura egli abbatterà e demolirà, la raderà al suolo.	12 And the impregnable fortress of your walls, he has overthrown, laid low, flung to the ground, in thedust.
