¹ Al volgere dell’anno, quando i re vanno in guerra, Joab condusse in campo il nerbo dell’esercito e devastò il paese dei figli di Ammon. Giunse infine ad assediare la città di Rabba, mentre David era rimasto a Gerusalemme, Joab espugnò Rabba e la rase al suolo.	¹ At the beginning of the following year, the time when kings go to war, Joab led the army out in force, laid waste the land of the Ammonites, and went on to besiege Rabbah, while David himself remained in Jerusalem. When Joab had attacked Rabbah and destroyed it,

Quindi David con tutto l’esercito tornò a Gerusalemme.	³ He deported the people of the city and set them to work with saws, iron picks, and axes. Thus David dealt with all the cities of the Ammonites. Then he and his whole army returned to Jerusalem.
⁴ Ed ecco sorgere in seguito un’altra guerra a Gezer con i Filistei. Questa volta Sibbechai il Khushatita batté Sippai della stirpe dei Refaim e quelli furono sottomessi.	⁴ Afterward there was another battle with the Philistines, at Gezer.
