NOVA VULGATANEW JERUSALEM
1 Et vidi aliud signum in caelo magnum et mirabile: angelos septemhabentes plagas septem novissimas, quoniam in illis consummata est ira Dei.
1 And I saw in heaven another sign, great and wonderful: seven angels were bringing the seven plaguesthat are the last of al , because they exhaust the anger of God.
2 Et vidi tamquam mare vitreum mixtum igne; et eos, qui vicerunt bestiam etimaginem illius et numerum nominis eius, stantes supra mare vitreum, habentescitharas Dei.2 I seemed to be looking at a sea of crystal suffused with fire, and standing by the lake of glass, thosewho had fought against the beast and won, and against his statue and the number which is his name. They alhad harps from God,
3 Et cantant canticum Moysis servi Dei et canticum Agni dicentes:
“ Magna et mirabilia opera tua,
Domine, Deus omnipotens;
iustae et verae viae tuae,
Rex gentium!
3 and they were singing the hymn of Moses, the servant of God, and the hymn of the Lamb: How greatand wonderful are al your works, Lord God Almighty; upright and true are al your ways, King of nations.
4 Quis non timebit, Domine,
et glorificabit nomen tuum?
Quia solus Sanctus,
quoniam omnes gentes venient
et adorabunt in conspectu tuo,
quoniam iudicia tua manifestata sunt ”.
4 Who does not revere and glorify your name, O Lord? For you alone are holy, and al nations will comeand adore you for the many acts of saving justice you have shown.
5 Et post haec vidi: et apertum est templum tabernaculi testimonii in caelo,5 After this, in my vision, the sanctuary, the tent of the Testimony, opened in heaven,
6 et exierunt septem angeli habentes septem plagas de templo, vestiti lino mundocandido et praecincti circa pectora zonis aureis.6 and out came the seven angels with the seven plagues, wearing pure white linen, fastened round theirwaists with belts of gold.
7 Et unum ex quattuoranimalibus dedit septem angelis septem phialas aureas plenas iracundiae Deiviventis in saecula saeculorum.7 One of the four living creatures gave the seven angels seven golden bowls filled with the anger of Godwho lives for ever and ever.
8 Et impletum est templum fumo de gloria Dei etde virtute eius; et nemo poterat introire in templum, donec consummarenturseptem plagae septem angelorum.
8 The smoke from the glory and the power of God fil ed the temple so that no one could go into it untilthe seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.
