BIBBIA CEI 2008	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Il ventuno del settimo mese, per mezzo del profeta Aggeo fu rivolta questa parola del Signore:	1 on the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the word of Yahweh was addressed through the prophetHaggai, as follows,
2 «Su, parla a Zorobabele, figlio di Sealtièl, governatore della Giudea, a Giosuè, figlio di Iosadàk, sommo sacerdote, e a tutto il resto del popolo, e chiedi:	2 'You are to speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel governor of Judah, to Joshua son of Jehozadak thehigh priest and to the remnant of the people. Say this,
3 Chi rimane ancora tra voi che abbia visto questa casa nel suo primitivo splendore? Ma ora in quali condizioni voi la vedete? In confronto a quella, non è forse ridotta a un nulla ai vostri occhi?	3 "Is there anyone left among you who saw this Temple in its former glory? And how does it look to younow? Does it not seem as though there is nothing there?
4 Ora, coraggio, Zorobabele – oracolo del Signore –, coraggio, Giosuè, figlio di Iosadàk, sommo sacerdote; coraggio, popolo tutto del paese – oracolo del Signore – e al lavoro, perché io sono con voi – oracolo del Signore degli eserciti –,	4 But take courage now, Zerubbabel!-Yahweh declares. Courage, Joshua son of Jehozadak high priest!Courage, al you people of the country!-Yahweh declares. To work! I am with you -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares-
5 secondo la parola dell’alleanza che ho stipulato con voi quando siete usciti dall’Egitto; il mio spirito sarà con voi, non temete.	5 and my spirit is present among you. Do not be afraid!
6 Dice infatti il Signore degli eserciti: Ancora un po’ di tempo e io scuoterò il cielo e la terra, il mare e la terraferma.	6 For Yahweh Sabaoth says this: A little while now, and I shal shake the heavens and the earth, the seaand the dry land.
7 Scuoterò tutte le genti e affluiranno le ricchezze di tutte le genti e io riempirò questa casa della mia gloria, dice il Signore degli eserciti.	7 I shal shake al the nations, and the treasures of al the nations will flow in, and I shal fil this Templewith glory, says Yahweh Sabaoth.
8 L’argento è mio e mio è l’oro, oracolo del Signore degli eserciti.	8 Mine is the silver, mine the gold!-Yahweh Sabaoth declares.
9 La gloria futura di questa casa sarà più grande di quella di una volta, dice il Signore degli eserciti; in questo luogo porrò la pace». Oracolo del Signore degli eserciti.	9 The glory of this new Temple wil surpass that of the old, says Yahweh Sabaoth, and in this place I shalgive peace -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares." '
10 Il ventiquattro del nono mese, nel secondo anno di Dario, questa parola del Signore fu rivolta al profeta Aggeo:	10 On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of Yahweh wasaddressed to the prophet Haggai as fol ows,
11 «Dice il Signore degli eserciti: Domanda ai sacerdoti quello che dice la legge e chiedi loro:	11 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Ask the priests to give a ruling on this:
12 Se uno in un lembo del suo vestito porta carne consacrata e con il lembo tocca il pane, il companatico, il vino, l’olio o qualunque altro cibo, questo verrà consacrato?». «No», risposero i sacerdoti.	12 If someone is carrying consecrated meat in the fold of his gown and al ows the fold to touch bread,broth, wine, oil or food of any kind, wil that become holy?" ' The priests replied, 'No.'
13 Aggeo soggiunse: «Se uno che è contaminato per il contatto di un cadavere tocca una di quelle cose, sarà essa impura?». «Sì, è impura», risposero i sacerdoti.	13 Haggai then said, 'If anyone rendered unclean by contact with a corpse touches any of these things,wil that become unclean?' The priests replied, 'It wil become unclean.'
14 Riprese Aggeo: «Tale è questo popolo, tale è questa nazione davanti a me – oracolo del Signore – e tale è ogni lavoro delle loro mani; anzi, anche ciò che qui mi offrono è impuro.	14 Haggai then spoke out. 'It is the same with this people,' he said, 'the same with this nation, in my view-- Yahweh declares -- the same with everything they turn their hands to; and whatever they offer here is unclean.
15 Ora pensate, da oggi e per l’avvenire: prima che si cominciasse a porre pietra sopra pietra nel tempio del Signore,	15 'So now think carefully, today and henceforth: before one stone had been laid on another in thesanctuary of Yahweh,
16 come andavano le vostre cose? Si andava a un mucchio da cui si attendevano venti misure di grano e ce n’erano dieci; si andava ad attingere a un tino da cinquanta misure e ce n’erano venti.	16 what state were you in? You would come to a twenty-measure heap and find only ten; you wouldcome to a vat to draw fifty measures and find only twenty.
17 Vi ho colpiti con la ruggine, il carbonchio e la grandine in tutti i lavori delle vostre mani, ma voi non siete ritornati a me. Oracolo del Signore.	17 Everything you turned your hands to, I struck with wind-blast, mildew and hail, and stil you would notreturn to me -- Yahweh declares.
18 Considerate bene da oggi in poi, dal ventiquattro del nono mese, cioè dal giorno in cui si posero le fondamenta del tempio del Signore:	18 So think careful y, today and henceforth (from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the daythe foundation of the sanctuary of Yahweh was laid, think careful y)
19 ebbene, manca ancora grano nei granai? La vite, il fico, il melograno, l’olivo non hanno dato i loro frutti? Da oggi in poi vi benedirò!».	19 if seed-corn is stil short in the barn, and if vine and fig tree, pomegranate and olive tree still bear nofruit. 'From today onwards I intend to bless you.'
20 Il ventiquattro del mese questa parola del Signore fu rivolta una seconda volta ad Aggeo:	20 On the twenty-fourth day of the month the word of Yahweh was addressed a second time to Haggai,as fol ows,
21 «Parla a Zorobabele, governatore della Giudea, e digli: Scuoterò il cielo e la terra,	21 'Speak to Zerubbabel governor of Judah. Say this, "I am going to shake the heavens and the earth.
22 abbatterò il trono dei regni e distruggerò la potenza dei regni delle nazioni, rovescerò i carri e i loro cavalieri: cadranno cavalli e cavalieri; ognuno verrà trafitto dalla spada del proprio fratello.	22 I shal overturn the thrones of kingdoms and destroy the power of the kings of the nations. I shalloverthrow the chariots and their crews; horses and their riders wil fall, every one to the sword of his comrade.
23 In quel giorno – oracolo del Signore degli eserciti – io ti prenderò, Zorobabele, figlio di Sealtièl, mio servo – oracolo del Signore – e ti porrò come un sigillo, perché io ti ho eletto». Oracolo del Signore degli eserciti.	23 When that day comes -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- I shal take you, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel myservant -- Yahweh declares -- and make you like a signet ring. For I have chosen you -- Yahweh Sabaothdeclares." '
