Deuteronomio 27

NOVA VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Praecepit autem Moyses et seniores Israel populo dicen tes: “ Custodite omne mandatum, quod praecipio vobis hodie.	1 Moses and the elders of Israel gave the people this command: 'Keep al the commandments which Iam laying down for you today.
2 Cumque transieritis Iordanem in terram, quam Dominus Deus tuus dabit tibi, eriges ingentes lapides et calce obduces eos,	2 After you have crossed the Jordan into the country which Yahweh your God is giving you, you mustset up tal stones, coat them with lime
3 ut possis in eis scribere omnia verba legis huius, Iordane transmisso, ut introeas terram, quam Dominus Deus tuus dabit tibi, terram lacte et melle manantem, sicut locutus est Dominus, Deus patrum tuorum, tibi.	3 and on them write all the words of this Law, when you have crossed and entered the country whichYahweh your God is giving you, a country flowing with milk and honey, as Yahweh, God of your ancestors, haspromised you.
4 Quando ergo transieritis Iordanem, erigite istos lapides, sicut ego hodie praecipio vobis, in monte Hebal, et obduces eos calce;	4 'When you have crossed the Jordan, you must erect these stones on Mount Ebal, as I command youtoday, and coat them with lime.
5 et aedificabis ibi altare Domino Deo tuo de lapidibus, quos ferrum non tetigit,	5 There, for Yahweh your God, you must build an altar of stones, on which no iron has been used.
6 de saxis impolitis, et offeres super eo holocausta Domino Deo tuo.	6 You must build the altar of Yahweh your God of rough stones, and on this altar you will present burntofferings to Yahweh your God,
7 Et immolabis hostias pacificas comedesque ibi et epulaberis coram Domino Deo tuo;	7 and immolate communion sacrifices and eat them there, rejoicing in the presence of Yahweh yourGod.
8 et scribes super lapides omnia verba legis huius plane et lucide ”.	8 On these stones you must write al the words of this Law; cut them careful y.'
9 Dixeruntque Moyses et sacerdotes levitici generis ad omnem Israelem: “ Attende et audi, Israel: hodie factus es populus Domino Deo tuo;	9 Moses and the levitical priests then said to al Israel: 'Be silent, Israel, and listen. Today you havebecome a people for Yahweh your God.
10 audies vocem eius et facies mandata atque praecepta, quae ego praecipio tibi ”.	10 You must listen to the voice of Yahweh your God and observe the commandments and laws which Iam laying down for you today.'
11 Praecepitque Moyses populo in die illo dicens:	11 That day Moses gave the people this order:
12 “ Hi stabunt ad benedicendum populo super montem Garizim, Iordane transmisso: Simeon, Levi, Iudas, Issachar, Ioseph et Beniamin.	12 'When you have crossed the Jordan, the fol owing wil stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people:Simeon and Levi, Judah and Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin.
13 Et e regione isti stabunt ad maledicendum in monte Hebal: Ruben, Gad et Aser et Zabulon, Dan et Nephthali.	13 And the fol owing wil stand on Mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben, Gad and Asher, Zebulun, Dan andNaphtali.
14 Et pronunciabunt Levitae dicentque ad omnes viros Israel excelsa voce:	14 The Levites wil then speak, proclaiming loudly to al the Israelites:
15 “Maledictus homo, qui facit sculptile et conflatile, abominationem Domini, opus manuum artificum, ponetque illud in abscondito”. Et respondebit omnis populus et dicet: “Amen”.	15 "Accursed be anyone who makes a carved or cast idol, a thing detestable to Yahweh, a workman'sartefact, and sets it up in secret." And the people are al to respond by saying, Amen.
16 “Maledictus, qui contemnit patrem suum et matrem”. Et dicet omnis populus: “Amen”.	16 "Accursed be anyone who treats father or mother dishonourably." And the people must al say,Amen.
17 “Maledictus, qui transfert terminos proximi sui”. Et dicet omnis populus: “Amen”.	17 "Accursed be anyone who displaces a neighbour's boundary mark." And the people must al say,Amen.
18 “Maledictus, qui errare facit caecum in itinere”. Et dicet omnis populus: “Amen”.	18 "Accursed be anyone who leads the blind astray on the road." And the people must al say, Amen.
19 “Maledictus, qui pervertit iudicium advenae, pupilli et viduae”. Et dicet omnis populus: “Amen”.	19 "Accursed be anyone who violates the rights of the foreigner, the orphan and the widow." And thepeople must al say, Amen.
20 “Maledictus, qui dormit cum uxore patris sui, quia revelat operimentum lectuli eius”. Et dicet omnis populus: “Amen”.	20 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with his father's wife and withdraws the skirt of hisfather's cloak from her." And the people must all say, Amen.
21 “Maledictus, qui dormit cum omni iumento”. Et dicet omnis populus: “Amen”.	21 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with any kind of animal." And the people must allsay, Amen.
22 “Maledictus, qui dormit cum sorore sua, filia patris sui sive matris suae”. Et dicet omnis populus: “Amen”.	22 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with his sister, the daughter of his father or of hismother." And the people must al say, Amen.
23 “Maledictus, qui dormit cum socru sua”. Et dicet omnis populus: “Amen”.	23 "Accursed be anyone who has sexual intercourse with his mother-in-law." And the people must alsay, Amen.
24 “Maledictus, qui clam percusserit proximum suum”. Et dicet omnis populus: “Amen”.	24 "Accursed be anyone who secretly strikes down his neighbour." And the people must al say, Amen.
25 “Maledictus, qui accipit munera, ut percutiat sanguinem innocentem”. Et dicet omnis populus: “Amen”.	25 "Accursed be anyone who accepts a bribe to take an innocent life." And the people must al say,Amen.
26 “Maledictus, qui non permanet in sermonibus legis huius nec eos opere perficit”. Et dicet omnis populus: “Amen”.	26 "Accursed be anyone who does not make the words of this Law effective by putting them intopractice." And the people must al say, Amen.'
