1 Questi adunque sono i capi delle famiglie, e la genealogia dì quelli,che tornaron meco di Babilonia, regnante Artaserse.	1 Now these are the chiefs of families, and the genealogy of them, who came up with me from Babylon in the reign of Artaxerxes the king.

3 De' figliuoli di Sechenia figliuoli diPharos, Zaccharia, e con lui si contarono cento cinquanta uomini.	3 Of the sons of Sechenias, the son of Pharos, Zacharias, and with him were numbered a hundred and fifty men.
4 De' figliuoli di Phaath-Moab, Elioenai figliuolo di Zarehe, e con lui dugento uomini.	4 Of the sons of Phahath Moab, Eleoenai the son of Zareha, and with him two hundred men.
5 De' figliuoli di Sechenia, Ezechiel suo figliuolo, e con lui trecento uomini.	5 Of the sons of Sechenias, the son of Ezechiel, and with him three hundred men.
6 De' figliuoli di Adan, Abed figluolo di Jonathan, e con lui cinquanta uomini.	6 Of the sons of Adan, Abed the son of Jonathan, and with him fifty men.
7 De' figliuoli di Alam, Isaia figluolo di Atnalia, e con lui settanta uomini.	7 Of the sons of Alam, Isaias the son of Athalias, and with him seventy men.

9 De' figliuoli di Joab, Obedia figliuolo di Janiel, e con lui dugento diciotto uomini.	9 Of the sons of Joab, Obedia the son of Jahiel, and with him two hundred and eighteen men.
10 De' figliuoli di Salomith, il figliuolo di Josphia, e con lui cento sessanta uomini.	10 Of the sons of Selomith, the son of Josphia, and with him a hundred and sixty men.
11 De' figliuoli di Bebai, Zacharia figliuolo di Bebai, e con lui ventotto uomini.	11 Of the sons of Bebai, Zacharias the son of Bebai: and with him eight and twenty men.
12 De' figliuoli di Azgad, Johanan figliuolo di Eccetan, e con lui centodieci uomini.	12 Of the sons of Azgad, Joanan the son of Eccetan, and with him a hundred and ten men.
13 De' figliuoli di Adonicam, che furono gli ultimi: i nomi son questi: Elipheleth, e Jehiel, e Samaia, e con essi sessanta uomini.	13 Of the sons of Adonicam, who were the last: and these are their names: Eliphelet, and Jehiel, and Samaias, and with them sixty men.
14 De' figliuoli di Begui, Uthai, e Zachur, e con essi sessanta uomini.	14 Of the sons of Begui, Uthai and Zachur, and with them seventy men.
15 Orioli radunai presso al fiume, che sbocca nell'Ahava, e ivi ci fermammo tre giorni: e avendo cercato tral popolo, e tra i sacerdoti qualche Levita, non vel trovai.	15 And I gathered them together to the river, which runneth down to Ahava, and we stayed there three days: and I sought among the people and among the priests for the sons of Levi, and found none there.
16 Mandai adunque Eliezer, e Ariel, e Semeia, ed Elnathan, e Jarib, e un altro Elnathan, e Nathan, e Zacharia, e Mosollam dei principali, e Joiarib, ed Elnathan uomini sapienti.	16 So I sent Eliezer, and Ariel, and Semeias, and Elnathan, and Jarib, and another Elnathan, and Nathan, and Zacharias, and Mosollam, chief men: and Joiarib, and Elnathan, wise men.
17 Li mandai a trovare Eddo, che è il più riputato del luogo di Casphia, e posi loro in bocca le parole, che dovean dire ad Eddo, e a' suoj fratelli Nathinei del luogo di Casphia, affinchè ci menasser dei ministri della casa del nostro Dio.	17 And I sent them to Eddo, who is chief in the place of Chasphia, and I put in their mouth the words that they should speak to Eddo, and his brethren the Nathinites in the place of Chasphia, that they should bring us ministers of the house of our God.
18 E per beneficenza del nostro Dio verso di noi ci menarono un uomo dottissimo de' figliuoli di Moholi, figliuolo di Levi, figliuolo d'Israele, Sarabia co' suoi figliuoli, e fratelli diciotto.	18 And by the good hand of our God upon us, they brought us a most learned man of the sons of Moholi the son of Levi the son of Israel, and Sarabias and his sons, and his brethren eighteen,
19 E Hasabia, e con lui Isaia de' figliuoli di Merari co' suoi figliuoli, e fratelli venti:	19 And Hasabias, and with him Isaias of the sons of Merari, and his brethren, and his sons twenty.
20 E de' Nathinei destinati da David, e dai principi al servizio dei Leviti, dugento venti Nathinei: tutti questi aveano un nome distinto.	20 And of the Nathinites, whom David, and the princes gave for the service of the Levites, Nathinites two hundred and twenty: all these were called by their names.
21 E colà presso il fiume Ahava intimai un digiuno, affine di umiliarci dinanzi al Signore Dio nostro per chiedergli buon viaggio per noi, e pe' nostri figliuoli, e per le cose nostre.	21 And I proclaimed there a fast by the river Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before the Lord our God, and might ask of him a right way for us and for our children, and for all our substance.
22 Perocché io ebbi rossore di chiedere al re in aiuto de' soldati a cavallo, che ci difendessero per istrada dal nemico; perchè noi avevamo detto al re: La mano del nostro Dio assiste tutti quelli, che lo cercano con sincerità: e il suo impero, e la sua possanza, e il suo furore si fan sentire a tutti quelli, che lo abbandonano.	22 For I was ashamed to ask the king for aid and for horsemen, to defend us from the enemy in the way: because we had said to the king: The hand of our God is upon all them that seek him in goodness: and his power and strength, and wrath upon all them that forsake him.
23 A questo fine digiunammo, e facemmo orazione al npstro Dio: e la cosa passò felicemente per noi.	23 And we fasted, and besought our God for this: and it fell out prosperously unto us.
24 E de' principali sacerdoti ne separai dodici, Sarabia, e Hasabia, e altri dieci de' lor fratelli con essi:	24 And I separated twelve of the chief of the priests, Sarabias, and Hasabias, and with them ten of their brethren,
25 E consegnai loro l'argento, e l'oro a peso, e i vasi sagri della casa del nostro Dio offerti dal re, e da' suoi consiglieri, e da' suoi grandi, e da tutti gl'Israeliti, che si erano trovati (colà):	25 And I weighed unto them the silver and gold, and the vessels consecrated for the house of our God, which the king and his counsellors, and his princes, and all Israel, that were found had offered.
26 E rimisi nelle loro mani il peso di secento cinquanta talenti d'argento, e cento vasi di argento, e cento talenti di oro:	26 And I weighed to their hands six hundred and fifty talents of silver, and a hundred vessels of silver, and a hundred talents of gold,
27 E venti ciotole di oro pesanti mille dramme, e due vasi di un bronzo lucente finissimo, belli, come quelli di oro.	27 And twenty cups of gold, of a thousand solids, and two vessels of the best shining brass, beautiful as gold.
28 E dissi loro: Voi i santi del Signore, e santi i vasi, e l'argento, e l'oro offerto spontaneamente al Signore Dio de' padri nostri,	28 And I said to them: You are the holy ones of the Lord, and the vessels are holy, and the silver and gold, that is freely offered to the Lord the God of our fathers.
29 Custoditeli con vigilanza, per sino a tanto che il tutto rimettiate a peso al tesoro della casa del Signore in presenza de' principi de' sacerdoti, e de' Leviti, e de' capi delle famiglie in Gerusalemme.	29 Watch ye and beep them, till you deliver them by weight before the chief of the priests, and of the Levites, and the heads of the families of Israel in Jerusalem, into the treasure of the house of the Lord.
30 E i sacerdoti, e i Leviti ricevettero pesato l'oro, e l'argento, e i vasi per portargli a Gerusalemme alla casa del nostro Dio.	30 And the priests and the Levites received the weight of the silver and gold, and the vessels, to carry them to Jerusalem to the house of our God.
31 Ci partimmo adunque dal fiume Ahava ai dodici del primo mese per incamminarci verso Gerusalemme: e la mano del nostro Dio fu sopra di noi e ci liberò dalla mano, e dall'insidie del nemico.	31 Then we set forward from the river Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month to go to Jerusalem: and the hand of our God was upon us, and delivered us from the hand of the enemy, and of such as lay in wait by the way.
32 E arrivammo a Gerusalemme, e ivi ci riposammo tre giorni.	32 And we came to Jerusalem, and we stayed there three days.
33 E il quarto giorno fu pesato l'argento, e l'oro, e i vasi nella casa del nostro Dio per mano di Meremoth figliuolo di Uria sacerdote, con cui era anche Eleazaro figliuolo di Phinees, e insieme con essi Jozabed figliuolo di Josuè, e Noadaia figliuolo di Bennoi, Leviti.	33 And on the fourth day the silver and the gold, and the vessels were weighed in the house of our God by the hand of Meremoth the son of Urias the priest, and with him was Eleazar the son of Phinees, and with them Jozabad the son of Josue, and Noadaia the son of Benoi, Levites.
34 Tutto fu contato, e pesato: e di tutto fu fatto allora inventario.	34 According to the number and weight of every thing: and all the weight was written at that time.
35 E i figliuoli della trasmigrazione tornati dalla cattività offersero olocausti al Dio d'Israele, dodici vitelli per tutto il popolo d'Israele, novantasei arieti,settantasette agnelli, e dodici capri per lo peccato: tutto questo in olocausto al Signore.	35 Moreover the children of them that had been carried away that were come out of the captivity, offered holocausts to the God of Israel, twelve calves for all the people of Israel, ninety-six rams, seventyseven lambs, and twelve he goats for sin: all for a holocaust to the Lord.
36 E presentarono gli editti del re ai satrapi della sua corte, e a quelli, che governavano oltre al fiume, ed ei favoreggiarono il popolo, e la casa di Dio.	36 And they gave the king's edicts to the lords that were from the king's court, and the governors beyond the river, and they furthered the people and the house of God.
