1 Figliuoli di Giuda: Phares Hesron, e Charmi, e Hur, e Sobai.	1 The sons of Judah: Perez, Hezron, and Carmi, and Hur, and Shobal.
2 E Rahaia figliuolo di Sobal generò Jahatb, il quale fu padre di Ahumai, e di Laad. Da questi le famiglie de' Sarathiti.	2 Truly, Reaiah, the son of Shobal, conceived Jahath; from him were born Ahumai and Lahad. These are the kindred of the Zorathites.
3 Questa pure è la stirpe di Etam: Jezrael, e Jesema, e Jedebos: i quali ebbero una sorella per nome Asalelphuni.	3 And this is the stock of Etam: Jezreel, and Ishma, and Idbash. And the name of their sister was Hazzelelponi.
4 Phanuel fu padre di Gedor, ed Ezer padre di Hosa. Questi sono i discendenti di Hur primogenito di Ephrata padre di Bettilehem.	4 Now Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer was the father of Hushah. These are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratha, the father of Bethlehem.
5 Assur padre di Thecua ebbe due mogli, Halaa, e Naara.	5 Truly, for Ashhur, the father of Tekoa, there were two wives: Helah and Naarah.
6 E Naara gli partorì Oozam, ed Hepher, e Themani, ed Ahasthari: questi sono figliuoli di Naara.	6 And Naarah bore to him: Ahuzzam, and Hepher, and Temeni, and Haahashtari. These are the sons of Naarah.

8 E Cos generò Anob, e Soboba, donde la famiglia di Aharehel figliuolo di Arum.	8 Now Koz conceived Anub, and Zobebah, and the kindred of Aharhel, the son of Harum.
9 Ma Jabes fu il più illustre tra' suoi fratelli, e la madre sua gli pose nome Jabes, dicendo: L'ho partorito con dolore.	9 But Jabez was renown, more so than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “For I bore him in sorrow.”
10 Or Jabes invocò il Dio d'Israele, e disse: Se tu mi benedirai distintamente, e dilaterai i miei confini, e se sarà meco la tua mano, e non permetterai, ch'io venga oppresso dalla malvagità. E Dio gli concedette quello, ch'ei domandò.	10 Truly, Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “If only, when blessing, you will bless me, and will broaden my borders, and your hand will be with me, and you will cause me not to be oppressed by evil.” And God granted to him the things for which he prayed.
11 Or Caleb fratello di sua generò Mahir, il quale fu padre di Esthon.	11 Now Chelub, the brother of Shuhah, conceived Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.
12 Esthon genero Bethrapha, e Phesse, e Tehinna principe della città di Naas. Questi sono, che abitarono Recha.	12 Then Eshton conceived Bethrapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah, the father of the city of Nahash. These are the men of Recah.
13 Figliuoli di Cenez: Othoniel, e Saraia. Figliuoli di Othoniel: Hathath, e Maonathi.	13 Now the sons of Kenaz were Othniel and Seraiah. And the sons of Othniel were Hathath and Meonothai.
14 Maonathi generò Ophra; e Saraia generò Joab principe della Valle degli artefici: perocché ivi abitavano gli artefici.	14 Meonothai conceived Ophrah, but Seraiah conceived Joab, the father of the Valley of Artisans. For indeed, there were artisans there.
15 Figliuoli di Caleb figliuolo di Jephone: Hir, ed Eia, e Naham. figliuolo di Eia, Cenez.	15 Truly, the sons of Chelub, the son of Jephunneh, were Iru, and Elah, and Naam. And the sons of Elah: Kenaz.
16 Figliuoli di Jaleleel: Ziph, e Zipha, Tluria, e Asrael.	16 Also, the sons of Jehallelel: Ziph and Ziphah, Tiria and Asarel.
17 Figliuoli di Ezra: Jether, e Mered, ed Epher,e Jalon; ed egli generò Maria, e Sammai, e Jesba padre di Esthamo.	17 And the sons of Ezrah: Jether, and Mered, and Epher, and Jalon; and he conceived Miriam, and Shammai, and Ishbah, the father of Eshtemoa.
18 Moglie di lui fu anche Judaia, la quale partorì Jared padre di Gedor, ed Heber padre di Socho, e Icuthiel padre di Zanoe. E questi sono i figliuoli di Bethia figliuola di Pharaone, sposata da Mered.	18 And then his wife, Judaia, bore Jered, the father of Gedor, and Heber, the father of Soco, and Jekuthiel, the father of Zanoah. Now there were sons of Bithiah, the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered married,
19 E i figliuoli di (sua) moglie Odaia sorella di Naham, padre di Ceila sono Garmi, ed Esthamo, il quale fu di Machati.	19 and sons of his wife Hodiah, the sister of Naham, the father of Keilah the Garmite, and of Eshtemoa, who was from Maacathi.
20 Figliuoli di Simon: Amnon, e Rinna figliuolo di Hanan, e Thilon. E i figliuoli di Jesi sono Zoheth, e Benzoheth.	20 And the sons of Shimon: Amnon, and Rinnah, son of Hanan, and Tilon. And the sons of Ishi: Zoheth and Benzoheth.
21 Figliuoli di Sela figliuolo di Giuda: Her padre di Lecha, e Laada padre di Maresa, e le casate di quelli, che lavorano il bisso nella casa del giuramento,	21 The sons of Shelah, the son of Judah: Er, the father of Lecah, and Laadah, the father of Mareshah, and the kindred of the house of the workers of fine linen in the house of the oath,
22 E colui, che arrestò il sole, e gli uomini della Menzogna, e il Franco, e l'Ardente, i quali furon principi in Moab, e poi tornarono a Lahem. 24 Figliuoli di Simeon: Namuel, e Jamin, Jarib, Zara, e Saul:	24 The sons of Simeon: Nemuel and Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, Shaul;
25 Di cui fu figliuolo Sellum, il quale fu padre di Mapsam, e questi fu padre di Masma.	25 Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, Mishma his son.
26 Figliuolo di Masma fu Hamuel, di cui fu figliuolo Zachur, da cui nacque Semei:	26 The sons of Mishma: Hammuel his son, Zaccur his son, Shimei his son.
27 Semei ebbe sedici figliuoli, e sei figlie; mai suoi fratelli non ebbero molti figliuoli, e tutta la loro discendenza non potè agguagliare il numero de' figliuoli di Giuda.	27 The sons of Shimei were sixteen, and there were six daughters. But his brothers did not have many sons, and the entire kindred was not equal to the sum of the sons of Judah.
28 Eglino si stanziarono in Bersabee, e in Molada, e in Hasarsuhal,	28 Now they lived in Beersheba, and Moladah, and Hazarshual,
29 E in Baia, e in Asoni, e in Tholad,	29 and in Bilhah, and in Ezem, and in Tolad,
30 E in Bathuel, e in Horma, e in Siceleg,	30 and in Bethuel, and in Hormah, and in Ziklag,
31 E in Bethmarchaboth, e in Hasarsusim, e in Bethberai, e in Saarim. Queste furono le loro città fino al tempo del re Davidde.	31 and in Beth-marcaboth, and in Hazarsusim, and in Bethbiri, and in Shaaraim. These were their cities until king David.
32 E i loro villaggi: Etam, e Aen, Remmon, e Thochen, e Asan, numero cinque.	32 And their towns were Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities,
33 E insieme tutti i villaggi che sono attorno alle dette città sino a Baal. In questi luoghi essi abitano, e ivi sono distribuite le loro sedi.	33 with all their villages, on every side of these cities, as far as Baal. This is their habitation and the distribution of the settlements.
34 Mosobab, e Jemlech, e Josa figliuolo di Amasia,	34 And there were Meshobab and Jamlech, and Joshah, the son of Amaziah,
35 E Joel, e Jehu figliuolo di Josabia, il quale fu figliuolo di Saraia figliuolo di Asiel,	35 and Joel, and Jehu, the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel,
36 Ed Elioenai, e Jacoba, e Isuhaia, e Asaia, e Adiel, e Ismiel, e Banaia,	36 and Elioenai, and Jaakobah, and Jeshohaiah, and Asaiah, and Adiel, and Jesimiel, and Benaiah,
37 E Ziza figliuolo di Sephei, figliuolo di Allori, figliuolo di Idaia, figliuolo di Semri, figliuolo di Samaia.	37 as well as Ziza, the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah.
38 Questi sono i capi illustri delle famiglie, e delle casate di Simeon, e si moltiplicò grandemente la loro schiatta.	38 These were the names of the leaders in their kindred. And they were multiplied greatly within the houses of their marriages.
39 Ed eglino s'innoltrarono per occupare Gador sino alla parte orientale della valle, cercando pascolo pe' loro greggi.	39 And they set out, so that they might enter into Gedor, as far as the eastern valley, and so that they might seek pastures for their flocks.
40 E trovaron pasture abbondanti, e molto buone, e un paese molto ampio, e tranquillo, e ferace, nel quale avea prima abitato la stirpe di Cham.	40 And they found fat and very good pastures, and a very wide and quiet and fruitful land, in which some from the stock of Ham had lived before.
41 Quegli adunque, che sopra abbiam descritti pei loro nomi, andarono a tempo di Ezechia re di Giuda: e gettarono a terra le tende, e gli abitanti, che vi trovarono, e gli annichilarono, come sono fino al presente: e vi abitarono in luogo di quelli, perchè vi trovarono grassissimi pascoli.	41 So then, those whose names have been written above, went forth in the days of Hezekiah, the king of Judah. And they struck down the inhabitants who had been found there with their dwellings. And they wiped them out, even to the present day. And they lived in place of them, because they found very fat pastures there.
42 Andarono parimente altri de' figliuoli di Simeon al monte Seir in numero di cinquecento uomini, avendo per loro condottieri Phalthia, e Naaria, e Raphaia, e Oziel figliuoli di Jesi:	42 Also, some of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went away to mount Seir, having as leaders Pelatiah and Neariah and Rephaiah and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.
43 E distrussero gli avanzi degli Amaleciti, che avean potuto salvarsi, e ivi abitarono in luogo di essi, e vi sono fino al dì d'oggi.	43 And they struck down the remnant of the Amalekites, those who had been able to escape, and they lived there in place of them, even to this day.
