BIBBIA CEI 1974	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 Figlio mio, non dimenticare il mio insegnamento e il tuo cuore custodisca i miei precetti,	1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2 perché lunghi giorni e anni di vita e pace ti porteranno.	2 For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3 Bontà e fedeltà non ti abbandonino; lègale intorno al tuo collo, scrivile sulla tavola del tuo cuore,	3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4 e otterrai favore e buon successo agli occhi di Dio e degli uomini.	4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
5 Confida nel Signore con tutto il cuore e non appoggiarti sulla tua intelligenza;	5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 in tutti i tuoi passi pensa a lui ed egli appianerà i tuoi sentieri.	6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7 Non credere di essere saggio, temi il Signore e sta' lontano dal male.	7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
8 Salute sarà per il tuo corpo e un refrigerio per le tue ossa.	8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
9 Onora il Signore con i tuoi averi e con le primizie di tutti i tuoi raccolti;	9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
10 i tuoi granai si riempiranno di grano e i tuoi tini traboccheranno di mosto.	10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
11 Figlio mio, non disprezzare l'istruzione del Signore e non aver a noia la sua esortazione,	11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction:
12 perché il Signore corregge chi ama, come un padre il figlio prediletto.	12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
13 Beato l'uomo che ha trovato la sapienza e il mortale che ha acquistato la prudenza,	13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
14 perché il suo possesso è preferibile a quello dell'argento e il suo provento a quello dell'oro.	14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
15 Essa è più preziosa delle perle e neppure l'oggetto più caro la uguaglia.	15 She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
16 Lunghi giorni sono nella sua destra e nella sua sinistra ricchezza e onore;	16 Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.
17 le sue vie sono vie deliziose e tutti i suoi sentieri conducono al benessere.	17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
18 È un albero di vita per chi ad essa s'attiene e chi ad essa si stringe è beato.	18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
19 Il Signore ha fondato la terra con la sapienza, ha consolidato i cieli con intelligenza;	19 The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens.
20 dalla sua scienza sono stati aperti gli abissi e le nubi stillano rugiada.	20 By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.
21 Figlio mio, conserva il consiglio e la riflessione, né si allontanino mai dai tuoi occhi:	21 My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:
22 saranno vita per te e grazia per il tuo collo.	22 So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
23 Allora camminerai sicuro per la tua strada e il tuo piede non inciamperà.	23 Then shalt thou walk in thy way safely, and thy foot shall not stumble.
24 Se ti coricherai, non avrai da temere; se ti coricherai, il tuo sonno sarà dolce.	24 When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
25 Non temerai per uno spavento improvviso, né per la rovina degli empi quando verrà,	25 Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
26 perché il Signore sarà la tua sicurezza, preserverà il tuo piede dal laccio.	26 For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
27 Non negare un beneficio a chi ne ha bisogno, se è in tuo potere il farlo.	27 Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
28 Non dire al tuo prossimo: "Va', ripassa, te lo darò domani", se tu hai ciò che ti chiede.	28 Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.
29 Non tramare il male contro il tuo prossimo mentre egli dimora fiducioso presso di te.	29 Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.
30 Non litigare senza motivo con nessuno, se non ti ha fatto nulla di male.	30 Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.
31 Non invidiare l'uomo violento e non imitare affatto la sua condotta,	31 Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways.
32 perché il Signore ha in abominio il malvagio, mentre la sua amicizia è per i giusti.	32 For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.
33 La maledizione del Signore è sulla casa del malvagio, mentre egli benedice la dimora dei giusti.	33 The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.
34 Dei beffardi egli si fa beffe e agli umili concede la grazia.	34 Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.
35 I saggi possiederanno onore ma gli stolti riceveranno ignominia.	35 The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
