JERUSALEM	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Voici la descendance des fils de Noé, Sem, Cham et Japhet, auxquels des fils naquirent après ledéluge:	1 These are the generations of the sons of Noe: Sem, Cham, and Japheth: and unto them sons were born after the flood.
2 Fils de Japhet: Gomer, Magog, les Mèdes, Yavân, Tubal, Moshek, Tiras.	2 The sons of Japheth: Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Thubal, and Mosoch, and Thiras.
3 Fils de Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphat, Togarma.	3 And the sons of Gomer: Ascenez and Riphath and Thogorma.
4 Fils de Yavân: Elisha, Tarsis, les Kittim, les Dananéens.	4 And the sons of Javan: Elisa and Tharsis, Cetthim, and Dodanim.
5 A partir d'eux se fit la dispersion dans les îles des nations. Tels furent les fils de Japhet, d'aprèsleurs pays et chacun selon sa langue, selon leurs clans et d'après leurs nations.	5 By these were divided the islands of the Gentiles in their lands, every one according to his tongue and their families in their nations.
6 Fils de Cham: Kush, Miçrayim, Put, Canaan.	6 And the sons of Cham: Chus, and Mesram, and Phuth, and Chanaan.
7 Fils de Kush: Séba, Havila, Sabta, Rama, Sabteka. Fils deRama: Sheba, Dedân.	7 And the sons of Chus: Saba and Hevila, and Sabatha, and Regma, and Sabatacha. The sons of Regma: Saba and Dadan.
8 Kush engendra Nemrod, qui fut le premier potentat sur la terre.	8 Now Chus begot Nemrod: he began to be mighty on earth.
9 C'était un vaillant chasseur devant Yahvé, et c'est pourquoi l'on dit: "Comme Nemrod, vaillantchasseur devant Yahvé."	9 And he was a stout hunter before the Lord. Hence came a proverb: Even as Nemrod the stout hunter before the Lord.
10 Les soutiens de son empire furent Babel, Erek et Akkad, villes qui sont toutes au pays de Shinéar.	10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, and Arach, and Achad, and Chalanne in the land of Sennaar.
11 De ce pays sortit Ashshur, et il bâtit Ninive, Rehobot-Ir, Kalah,	11 Out of that land came forth Assur, and built Ninive, and the streets of the city, and Chale.
12 et Rèsèn entre Ninive et Kalah (c'est la grande ville).	12 Resen also between Ninive and Chale: this is the great city.
13 Miçrayim engendra les gens de Lud, de Anam, de Lehab, de Naphtuh,	13 And Mesraim begot Ludim, and Anamim, and Laabim, Nepthuim,
14 de Patros, de Kasluh et de Kaphtor, d'où sont sortis les Philistins.	14 And Phetrusim, and Chasluim; of whom came forth the Philistines, and the Capthorim.
15 Canaan engendra Sidon, son premier-né, puis Hèt,	15 And Chanaan begot Sidon, his firstborn, the Hethite,
16 et le Jébuséen, l'Amorite, le Girgashite,	16 And the Jebusite, and the Amorrhite, and the Gergesite,
17 le Hivvite, l'Arqite, le Sinite,	17 The Hevite and the Aracite: the Sinite,
18 l'Arvadite, le Cemarite, le Hamatite; ensuite se dispersèrent les clans cananéens.	18 And the Aradian, the Samarite, and the Hamathite: and afterwards the families of the Chanaanites were spread abroad.
19 La frontière des Cananéens allait de Sidon en direction de Gérar, jusqu'à Gaza, puis en directionde Sodome, Gomorrhe, Adma et Ceboyim, et jusqu'à Lésha.	19 And the limits of Chanaan were from Sidon as one comes to Gerara even to Gaza, until thou enter Sodom and Gomorrha, and Adama, and Seboim even to Lesa.
20 Tels furent les fils de Cham, selon leurs clans et leurs langues, d'après leurs pays et leurs nations.	20 These are the children of Cham in their kindreds, and tongues, and generations, and lands, and nations.
21 Une descendance naquit également à Sem, l'ancêtre de tous les fils de Eber et le frère aîné deJaphet.	21 Of Sem also, the father of all children of Heber, the elder brother of Japheth, sons were born.
22 Fils de Sem: Elam, Ashshur, Arpakshad, Lud, Aram.	22 The sons of Sem: Elam and Assur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram.
23 Fils d'Aram: Uç, Hul, Géter et Mash.	23 The sons of Aram: Us and Hull, and Gether: and Mess.
24 Arpakshad engendra Shélah et Shélah engendra Eber.	24 But Arphaxad begot Sale, of whom was born Heber.
25 A Eber naquirent deux fils: le premier s'appelait Péleg, carce fut en son temps que la terre futdivisée, et son frères'appelait Yoqtân.	25 And to Heber were born two sons: the name of the one was Phaleg, because in his days the earth was divided: and his brother's name Jectan.
26 Yoqtân engendra Almodad, Shéleph, Haççarmavet, Yérah,	26 Which Jectan begot Elmodad, and Saleph, and Asarmoth, Jare,
27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diqla,	27 And Anduram, and Uzal, and Decla,
28 Obal, Abimaël, Sheba,	28 And Ebal, and Abimael, Saba,
29 Ophir, Havila, Yobab; tous ceux-là sont fils de Yoqtân.	29 And Ophir, and Hevila, and Jobab.
30 Ils habitaient à partir de Mesha en direction de Sephar, la montagne de l'Orient.	30 And their dwelling was from Messa as we go on as far as Sephar, a mountain in the east.
31 Tels furent les fils de Sem, selon leurs clans et leurs langues, d'après leurs pays et leurs nations.	31 These are the children of Sem according to their kindreds and tongues, and countries in their nations.
32 Tels furent les clans des descendants de Noé, selon leurs lignées et d'après leurs nations. Ce fut àpartir d'eux que les peuples se dispersèrent sur la terre après le déluge.	32 These are the families of Noe, according to their peoples and nations. By these were the nations divided on the earth after the flood.
