¹ Bless Yahweh, my soul, Yahweh, my God, how great you are! Clothed in majesty and splendour,	¹ בָּרֲכִי נַפְשִׁי אֶת־יְהוָה יְהוָה אֱלֹהַי גָּדַלְתָּ מְּאֹד הֹוד וְהָדָר לָבָשְׁתָּ
² wearing the light as a robe! You stretch out the heavens like a tent,	² עֹטֶה־אֹור כַּשַּׂלְמָה נֹוטֶה מַיִם כַּיְרִיעָה
³ build your palace on the waters above, making the clouds your chariot, gliding on the wings of thewind,	³ הַמְקָרֶה בַמַּיִם עֲ‍לִיֹּותָיו הַשָּׂם־עָבִים רְכוּבֹו הַמְהַלֵּךְ עַל־כַּנְפֵי־רוּחַ
⁴ appointing the winds your messengers, flames of fire your servants.	⁴ עֹשֶׂה מַלְאָכָיו רוּחֹות מְשָׁרְתָיו אֵשׁ לֹהֵט
⁵ You fixed the earth on its foundations, for ever and ever it shal not be shaken;	⁵ יָסַד־אֶרֶץ עַל־מְכֹונֶיהָ בַּל־תִּמֹּוט עֹולָם וָעֶד
⁶ you covered it with the deep like a garment, the waters overtopping the mountains.	⁶ תְּהֹום כַּלְּבוּשׁ כִּסִּיתֹו עַל־הָרִים יַעַמְדוּ־מָיִם
⁷ At your reproof the waters fled, at the voice of your thunder they sped away,	⁷ מִן־גַּעֲרָתְךָ יְנוּסוּן מִן־קֹול רַעַמְךָ יֵחָפֵזוּן
⁸ flowing over mountains, down val eys, to the place you had fixed for them;	⁸ יַעֲלוּ הָרִים יֵרְדוּ בְקָעֹות אֶל־מְקֹום זֶה ׀ יָסַדְתָּ לָהֶם
⁹ you made a limit they were not to cross, they were not to return and cover the earth.	⁹ גְּבוּלשַׂ־מְתָּ בַּל־יַעֲבֹרוּן בַּל־יְשׁוּבוּן לְכַסֹּות הָאָרֶץ
¹⁰ In the ravines you opened up springs, running down between the mountains,	¹⁰ הַמְשַׁלֵּחַ מַעְיָנִים בַּנְּחָלִים בֵּין הָרִים יְהַלֵּכוּן
¹¹ supplying water for al the wild beasts; the wild asses quench their thirst,	¹¹ יַשְׁקוּ כָּל־חַיְתֹו שָׂדָי יִשְׁבְּרוּ פְרָאִים צְמָאָם
¹² on their banks the birds of the air make their nests, they sing among the leaves.	¹² עֲלֵיהֶם עֹוף־הַשָּׁמַיִם יִשְׁכֹּון מִבֵּין עֳפָאיִם יִתְּנוּ־קֹול
¹³ From your high hal s you water the mountains, satisfying the earth with the fruit of your works:	¹³ מַשְׁקֶה הָרִים מֵעֲלִיֹּותָיו מִפְּרִי מַעֲשֶׂיךָ תִּשְׂבַּע הָאָרֶץ
¹⁴ for cattle you make the grass grow, and for people the plants they need, to bring forth food from theearth,	¹⁴ מַצְמִיחַ חָצִיר ׀ לַבְּהֵמָה וְעֵשֶׂב לַעֲבֹדַת הָאָדָם לְהֹוצִיא לֶחֶם מִן־הָאָרֶץ
¹⁵ and wine to cheer people's hearts, oil to make their faces glow, food to make them sturdy of heart.	¹⁵ וְיַיִן ׀ יְשַׂמַּח לְבַב־אֱנֹושׁ לְהַצְהִיל פָּנִים מִשָּׁמֶן וְלֶחֶם לְבַב־אֱנֹושׁ יִסְעָד
¹⁶ The trees of Yahweh drink their fill, the cedars of Lebanon which he sowed;	¹⁶ יִשְׂבְּעוּ עֲצֵי יְהוָה אַרְזֵי לְבָנֹון אֲשֶׁר נָטָע
¹⁷ there the birds build their nests, on the highest branches the stork makes its home;	¹⁷ אֲשֶׁרשָׁ־ם צִפֳּרִים יְקַנֵּנוּ חֲסִידָה בְּרֹושִׁים בֵּיתָהּ
¹⁸ for the wild goats there are the mountains, in the crags the coneys find refuge.	¹⁸ הָרִים הַגְּבֹהִים לַיְּעֵלִים סְלָעִים מַחְסֶה לַשְׁפַנִּים
¹⁹ He made the moon to mark the seasons, the sun knows when to set.	¹⁹ עָשָׂה יָרֵחַ לְמֹועֲדִים מֶשׁ יָדַע מְבֹואֹו
²⁰ You bring on darkness, and night fal s, when al the forest beasts roam around;	²⁰ תָּשֶׁת־חֹשֶׁךְ וִיהִי לָיְלָה בֹּו־תִרְמֹשׂ כָּל־חַיְתֹו־יָעַר
²¹ young lions roar for their prey, asking God for their food.	²¹ הַכְּפִירִים שֹׁאֲגִים לַטָּרֶף וּלְבַקֵּשׁ מֵאֵל אָכְלָם
²² The sun rises and away they steal, back to their lairs to lie down,	²² תִּזְרַח הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ יֵאָסֵפוּן וְאֶל־מְעֹונֹתָם יִרְבָּצוּן
²³ and man goes out to work, to labour til evening falls.	²³ יֵצֵא אָדָם לְפָעֳלֹו וְלַעֲבֹדָתֹו עֲדֵי־עָרֶב
²⁴ How countless are your works, Yahweh, al of them made so wisely! The earth is ful of yourcreatures.	²⁴ מָה־רַבּוּ מַעֲשֶׂיךָ ׀ יְהוָה כֻּלָּם בְּחָכְמָה עָשִׂיתָ מָלְאָה הָאָרֶץ קִנְיָנֶךָ
²⁵ Then there is the sea, with its vast expanses teeming with countless creatures, creatures both greatand smal ;	²⁵ זֶה ׀ הַיָּם גָּדֹול וּרְחַב יָדָיִם שָׁם־רֶמֶשׂ וְאֵין מִסְפָּר חַיֹּות קְטַנֹּות עִם־גְּדֹלֹות
²⁶ there ships pass to and fro, and Leviathan whom you made to sport with.	²⁶ ם אֳנִיֹּות יְהַלֵּכוּן לִוְיָתָן זֶה־יָצַרְתָּ לְשַׂחֶק־בֹּו
²⁷ They al depend upon you, to feed them when they need it.	²⁷ כֻּלָּם אֵלֶיךָ יְשַׂבֵּרוּן לָתֵת אָכְלָם בְּעִתֹּו
²⁸ You provide the food they gather, your open hand gives them their fil .	²⁸ תִּתֵּן לָהֶם יִלְקֹטוּן תִּפְתַּח יָדְךָ יִשְׂבְּעוּן טֹוב
²⁹ Turn away your face and they panic; take back their breath and they die and revert to dust.	²⁹ תַּסְתִּיר פָּנֶיךָ יִבָּהֵלוּן תֹּסֵף רוּחָם יִגְוָעוּן וְאֶל־עֲפָרָם יְשׁוּבוּן
³⁰ Send out your breath and life begins; you renew the face of the earth.	³⁰ תְּשַׁלַּח רוּחֲךָ יִבָּרֵאוּן וּתְחַדֵּשׁ פְּנֵי אֲדָמָה
³¹ Glory to Yahweh for ever! May Yahweh find joy in his creatures!	³¹ יְהִי כְבֹוד יְהוָה לְעֹולָם יִשְׂמַח יְהוָה בְּמַעֲשָׂיו
³² At his glance the earth trembles, at his touch the mountains pour forth smoke.	³² הַמַּבִּיט לָאָרֶץ וַתִּרְעָד יִגַּע בֶּהָרִים וְיֶעֱשָׁנוּ
³³ I shal sing to Yahweh al my life, make music for my God as long as I live.	³³ אָשִׁירָה לַיהוָה בְּחַיָּי אֲזַמְּרָה לֵאלֹהַי בְּעֹודִי
³⁴ May my musings be pleasing to him, for Yahweh gives me joy.	³⁴ יֶעֱרַב עָלָיו שִׂיחִי אָנֹכִי אֶשְׂמַח בַּיהוָה
³⁵ May sinners vanish from the earth, and the wicked exist no more! Bless Yahweh, my soul.	³⁵ יִתַּמּוּ חַטָּאִים ׀ מִן־הָאָרֶץ וּרְשָׁעִים ׀ עֹוד אֵינָם בָּרֲכִי נַפְשִׁי אֶת־יְהוָה הַלְלוּ־יָהּ
