Psalms 104

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Bless Yahweh, my soul, Yahweh, my God, how great you are! Clothed in majesty and splendour,	1 Bendice al Señor, alma mía: ¡Señor, Dios mío, qué grande eres! Estás vestido de esplendor y majestad
2 wearing the light as a robe! You stretch out the heavens like a tent,	2 y te envuelves con un manto de luz. Tú extendiste el cielo como un toldo
3 build your palace on the waters above, making the clouds your chariot, gliding on the wings of thewind,	3 y construiste tu mansión sobre las aguas. Las nubes te sirven de carruaje y avanzas en alas del viento.
4 appointing the winds your messengers, flames of fire your servants.	4 Usas como mensajeros a los vientos, y a los relámpagos, como ministros.
5 You fixed the earth on its foundations, for ever and ever it shal not be shaken;	5 Afirmaste la tierra sobre sus cimientos: ¡no se moverá jamás!
6 you covered it with the deep like a garment, the waters overtopping the mountains.	6 El océano la cubría como un manto, las aguas tapaban las montañas;
7 At your reproof the waters fled, at the voice of your thunder they sped away,	7 pero tú las amenazaste y huyeron, escaparon ante el fragor del trueno.
8 flowing over mountains, down val eys, to the place you had fixed for them;	8 Subieron a las montañas, bajaron por los valles, hasta el lugar que les habías señalado:
9 you made a limit they were not to cross, they were not to return and cover the earth.	9 les fijaste un límite que no pasarán, ya no volverán a cubrir la tierra.
10 In the ravines you opened up springs, running down between the mountains,	10 Haces brotar fuentes en los valles, y corren sus aguas por las quebradas.
11 supplying water for al the wild beasts; the wild asses quench their thirst,	11 Allí beben los animales del campo, los asnos salvajes apagan su sed.
12 on their banks the birds of the air make their nests, they sing among the leaves.	12 Las aves del cielo habitan junto a ellas y hacen oír su canto entre las ramas.
13 From your high hal s you water the mountains, satisfying the earth with the fruit of your works:	13 Desde lo alto riegas las montañas, y la tierra se sacia con el fruto de tus obras.
14 for cattle you make the grass grow, and for people the plants they need, to bring forth food from theearth,	14 Haces brotar la hierba para el ganado y las plantas que el hombre cultiva, para sacar de la tierra el pan
15 and wine to cheer people's hearts, oil to make their faces glow, food to make them sturdy of heart.	15 y el vino que alegra el corazón del hombre, para que él haga brillar su rostro con el aceite y el pan reconforte su corazón.
16 The trees of Yahweh drink their fill, the cedars of Lebanon which he sowed;	16 Se llenan de savia los árboles del Señor, los cedros del Líbano que él plantó;
17 there the birds build their nests, on the highest branches the stork makes its home;	17 allí ponen su nido los pájaros, la cigüeña tiene su casa en los abetos;
18 for the wild goats there are the mountains, in the crags the coneys find refuge.	18 los altos peñascos son para las cabras, y en las rocas se refugian los erizos.
19 He made the moon to mark the seasons, the sun knows when to set.	19 Hiciste la luna para medir el tiempo, señalaste el sol el momento de su ocaso;
20 You bring on darkness, and night fal s, when al the forest beasts roam around;	20 mandas la oscuridad, y cae la noche: entonces rondan las fieras de la selva
21 young lions roar for their prey, asking God for their food.	21 y los cachorros rugen por la presa, pidiendo a Dios su alimento.
22 The sun rises and away they steal, back to their lairs to lie down,	22 Haces brillar el sol y se retiran, van a echarse en sus guardias:
23 and man goes out to work, to labour til evening falls.	23 entonces sale el hombre a trabajar, a cumplir su jornada hasta la tarde.
24 How countless are your works, Yahweh, al of them made so wisely! The earth is ful of yourcreatures.	24 ¡Qué variadas son tus obras, Señor! ¡Todo lo hiciste con sabiduría, la tierra está llena de tus criaturas!
25 Then there is the sea, with its vast expanses teeming with countless creatures, creatures both greatand smal ;	25 Allí está el mar, grande y dilatado, donde se agitan, en número incontable, animales grandes y pequeños.
26 there ships pass to and fro, and Leviathan whom you made to sport with.	26 Por él transitan las naves, y ese Leviatán que tú formaste para jugar con él
27 They al depend upon you, to feed them when they need it.	27 Todos esperan de ti que les des la comida a su tiempo:
28 You provide the food they gather, your open hand gives them their fil .	28 se la das, y ellos la recogen; abres tu mano, y quedan saciados.
29 Turn away your face and they panic; take back their breath and they die and revert to dust.	29 Si escondes tu rostro, se espantan; si les quitas el aliento, expiran y vuelven al polvo.
30 Send out your breath and life begins; you renew the face of the earth.	30 Si envías tu aliento, son creados, y renuevas la superficie de la tierra.
31 Glory to Yahweh for ever! May Yahweh find joy in his creatures!	31 ¡Gloria al Señor para siempre, alégrese el Señor por sus obras!
32 At his glance the earth trembles, at his touch the mountains pour forth smoke.	32 El mira, y la tierra se estremece; toca las montañas, y echan humo.
33 I shal sing to Yahweh al my life, make music for my God as long as I live.	33 Cantaré al Señor toda mi vida; mientras yo exista, celebraré a mi Dios:
34 May my musings be pleasing to him, for Yahweh gives me joy.	34 que mi canto le sea agradable, y yo me alegraré en el Señor.
35 May sinners vanish from the earth, and the wicked exist no more! Bless Yahweh, my soul.	35 Que los pecadores desaparezcan de la tierra y los malvados ya no existan más. ¡Bendice al Señor, alma mía! ¡Aleluya!
