1 Bless Yahweh, my soul, Yahweh, my God, how great you are! Clothed in majesty and splendour,	1 Al Signore confessate, e invocate il nome suo; raccontate tra le genti l'opere sue.
2 wearing the light as a robe! You stretch out the heavens like a tent,	2 Cantatelo e laudatelo; narrate tutte le maraviglie sue.
3 build your palace on the waters above, making the clouds your chariot, gliding on the wings of thewind,	3 Laudatevi nel nome santo suo; rallegrisi il cuore delli cercanti il Signore.
4 appointing the winds your messengers, flames of fire your servants.	4 Cercate il Signore e confessateli; sempre cercate la faccia sua.
5 You fixed the earth on its foundations, for ever and ever it shal not be shaken;	5 Ricordatevi delle sue maraviglie, che ha fatto; li suoi segnali e gli giudicii della bocca sua.
6 you covered it with the deep like a garment, the waters overtopping the mountains.	6 Del seme di Abraam, servo suo; del figliuolo di Iacob, eletto suo.
7 At your reproof the waters fled, at the voice of your thunder they sped away,	7 Egli è il Signore Iddio nostro; in tutta la terra sono li giudicii suoi.
8 flowing over mountains, down val eys, to the place you had fixed for them;	8 Sempre si ha ricordato del testamento suo; della parola che lui ha comandato in mille generazioni;
9 you made a limit they were not to cross, they were not to return and cover the earth.	9 il quale ordinò ad Abraam; e del giuramento fece ad Isaac.
10 In the ravines you opened up springs, running down between the mountains,	10 E quello ordinò a Iacob in comandamento, e a Israel in promissione eterna,
11 supplying water for al the wild beasts; the wild asses quench their thirst,	11 dicendo: darotti la terra di Canaan, in divisione della vostra eredità.
12 on their banks the birds of the air make their nests, they sing among the leaves.	12 Essendo gli suoi abitatori di piccolo numero, e pochissimi,
13 From your high hal s you water the mountains, satisfying the earth with the fruit of your works:	13 e' passorono di gente in gente, e dal regno a uno altro popolo.
14 for cattle you make the grass grow, and for people the plants they need, to bring forth food from theearth,	14 Non lasciò nocerli all' uomo; e per loro castigò li re.
15 and wine to cheer people's hearts, oil to make their faces glow, food to make them sturdy of heart.	15 Non vogliate toccare li cristi miei; e nei miei profeti non vogliate malignare.
16 The trees of Yahweh drink their fill, the cedars of Lebanon which he sowed;	16 E chiamò la fame sopra la terra; e spezzò ogni firmamento di pane.
17 there the birds build their nests, on the highest branches the stork makes its home;	17 Mandò dinanzi a loro l'uomo; in servo fu venduto Iosef.
18 for the wild goats there are the mountains, in the crags the coneys find refuge.	18 Isbassorono li suoi piedi ne' ceppi; il ferro trapassò l'anima sua,
19 He made the moon to mark the seasons, the sun knows when to set.	19 insino che venisse la parola sua. Il parlare del Signore infiammò quello;
20 You bring on darkness, and night fal s, when al the forest beasts roam around;	20 mandò il re, e sciolselo; il principe de' popoli, e lasciò lui.
21 young lions roar for their prey, asking God for their food.	21 Ordinollo in signore della casa sua; e principe di tutta la possessione sua;
22 The sun rises and away they steal, back to their lairs to lie down,	22 acciò che ammaestrasse gli suoi principi come sè stesso; e alli suoi vecchi insegnasse prudenza.
23 and man goes out to work, to labour til evening falls.	23 E Israel entrò in Egitto; e Iacob fu peregrino nella terra di Cam.
24 How countless are your works, Yahweh, al of them made so wisely! The earth is ful of yourcreatures.	24 E accrescette il popolo suo molto; e quello firmò sopra li suoi nemici.
25 Then there is the sea, with its vast expanses teeming with countless creatures, creatures both greatand smal ;	25 Convertì loro cuore, per che odiasse il popolo suo, e facesse inganno ne' servi suoi.
26 there ships pass to and fro, and Leviathan whom you made to sport with.	26 Mandò Moisè servo suo; Aaron che ha eletto.
27 They al depend upon you, to feed them when they need it.	27 Ne' quali puose le parole de' segni suoi, e delle maraviglie nella terra di Cam.
28 You provide the food they gather, your open hand gives them their fil .	28 Mandò le tenebre, e scurogli; e non adempì li suoi parlari.
29 Turn away your face and they panic; take back their breath and they die and revert to dust.	29 Loro acque convertì in sangue; e uccise loro pesci.
30 Send out your breath and life begins; you renew the face of the earth.	30 E loro terra dette le rane nelle camere secrete delli re loro.
31 Glory to Yahweh for ever! May Yahweh find joy in his creatures!	31 Disse, e venne la mosca canina; e le mosche piccoline in tutti li suoi confini.
32 At his glance the earth trembles, at his touch the mountains pour forth smoke.	32 Puose loro pioggie in tempesta; nella loro terra il fuoco ardente.
33 I shal sing to Yahweh al my life, make music for my God as long as I live.	33 E percosse loro vigne e loro fichi; e spezzò il legno de' suoi confini.
34 May my musings be pleasing to him, for Yahweh gives me joy.	34 Disse, e venne la locusta, e loro figliuoli, de' quali non era numero.
35 May sinners vanish from the earth, and the wicked exist no more! Bless Yahweh, my soul.	35 Egli mangiò il fieno nella loro terra; e mangid ogni frutto della loro terra.
	36 E percosse ogni primogenito nella loro terra; le primizie di [ogni] loro fatica.
	37 E menolli fuori con argento e auro; e nelle loro tribù non era infermo.
	38 Rallegrossi l'Egitto nel loro partimento; per che sopra loro giacque il loro timore.
	39 Spargette la nube in loro defensione, e il fuoco acciò a loro lucesse nella notte.
	40 Addimandorono, e venne la coturnice; e satollolli del pane del cielo.
	41 Spezzò la pietra, e corsero le acque; andarono li fiumi per il secco.
	42 Però che si arricordò della parola santa sua, ch' ebbe con Abraam servo suo.
	43 E menò il suo popolo con allegrezza, e' suoi eletti con letizia.
	44 E a loro dètte le regioni delle genti; e possedettero le fatiche de' popoli;
	45 acciò osservino le giustificazioni sue, e cerchino la legge sua.
