1 For the leader; according to Muth Labben. A psalm of David.	1 Per il capocoro. Su voce verginale, per dare il tono. Salmo. Di David.
2 I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will declare all your wondrous deeds.	2 Ti voglio lodare, o Jahvè, con tutto il mio cuore, narrare tutte le tue meraviglie.
3 I will delight and rejoice in you; I will sing hymns to your name, Most High.	3 Voglio allietarmi ed esultare in te, inneggiare al tuo nome, o Altissimo.
4 For my enemies turn back; they stumble and perish before you.	4 I miei nemici nel volgersi in fuga, inciampano e spariscono dal tuo cospetto.
5 You upheld my right and my cause, seated on your throne, judging justly.	5 Poiché hai preso in mano il mio giudizio e la mia causa, ti sei seduto sul trono, giudice di giustizia.
6 You rebuked the nations, you destroyed the wicked; their name you blotted out for all time	6 Hai minacciato le genti, hai distrutto l’empio; il loro nome hai cancellato in eterno e sempre.
7 The enemies have been ruined forever; you destroyed their cities; their memory has perished.	7 Son fatte silenti le città, rovine eterne; hai disperso il nemico, ne svanì la memoria. Fecero tumulto,
8 The LORD rules forever, has set up a throne for judgment.	8 ma Jahvè siede in eterno, rafforza per il giudizio il suo trono.
9 It is God who governs the world with justice, who judges the peoples with fairness.	9 Ed egli giudica l’orbe con giustizia, fa giudizio dei popoli con equità.
10 The LORD is a stronghold for the oppressed, stronghold in times of trouble.	10 E sarà Jahvè rifugio all’oppresso, rifugio in tempo d’angustia.
11 Those who honor your name trust in you; you never forsake those who seek you, LORD.	11 E confideranno in te coloro che sanno il tuo nome, perché non abbandoni coloro che cercano te, Jahvè!
12 Sing hymns to the LORD enthroned on Zion; proclaim God's deeds among the nations!	12 Cantate a Jahvè, che troneggia in Sion, annunciate tra i popoli le sue gesta.
13 For the avenger of bloodshed remembers, does not forget the cry of the afflicted.	13 Poiché, vendicatore del sangue, li ricorda; non dimentica il clamore dei miseri.
14 Have mercy on me, LORD; see how my foes afflict me! You alone can raise me from the gates of death.	14 Jahvè ebbe pietà, vide la miseria inflittami dagli avversari; egli che mi scampa dalle porte della morte.
15 Then I will declare all your praises, sing joyously of your salvation in the gates of daughter Zion.	15 Perciò voglio narrare tutte le tue gesta gloriose, alle porte della figlia di Sion voglio gioire nella tua salvezza.
16 The nations fall into the pit they dig; in the snare they hide, their own foot is caught.	16 Sprofondanò le genti nella fossa che hanno scavato, nella rete che tesero fu colto il loro piede.
17 The LORD is revealed in this divine rule: by the deeds they do the wicked are trapped. Higgaion. Selah	17 Si è manifestato Jahvè, ha fatto giudizio; nell’opera delle sue mani l’empio fu colto.
18 To Sheol the wicked will depart, all the nations that forget God.	18 Sono ridotti i peccatori allo Sheol, tutte le genti che dimenticano Dio.
19 The needy will never be forgotten, nor will the hope of the afflicted ever fade.	19 Perché non in eterno si scorda del povero, l’aspettazione dei miseri non perisce per sempre.
20 Arise, LORD, let no mortal prevail; let the nations be judged in your presence.	20 Sorgi, Jahvè, non prevalga l’uomo; siano giudicate le genti al tuo cospetto.
21 Strike them with terror, LORD; show the nations they are mere mortals. Selah	21 Cala, Jahvè, terrore su di essi; sappiano le genti che esse sono solo creatura.
