EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Ausspruch über die Wüste am Meer: Wie die Stürme im Negeb toben, so kommt Unheil aus der Wüste, aus dem schaurigen Land.	1 Proclamation about the coastal desert: As whirlwinds sweeping over the Negeb, he comes from thedesert, from a fearsome country.
2 Eine schreckliche Vision wurde mir gezeigt: Der Empörer empört sich, der Vernichter vernichtet. Zieh herauf, Elam! Medien, beginne mit der Belagerung! Ich mache allem Seufzen ein Ende.	2 A harsh vision has been shown me, 'The traitor betrays and the despoiler despoils. Advance, Elam, laysiege, Media!' I have cut short all groaning.
3 Darum zittert mein ganzer Leib, Krämpfe befallen mich wie die Wehen eine gebärende Frau. Ich bin betäubt von dem, was ich höre, bestürzt von dem, was ich sehe.	3 This is why my loins are racked with pain, why I am seized with pangs like the pangs of a woman inlabour; I am too distressed to hear, too afraid to look.
4 Mein Herz pocht wild, mich schüttelt ein Schauder. Das ersehnte Dunkel des Abends macht der Herr für mich zum Schrecken.	4 My heart is bewildered, dread overwhelms me, the twilight I longed for has become my horror.
5 Man deckt den Tisch, legt die Polster zurecht und isst und trinkt. Steht auf, ihr Fürsten, ölt euren Schild ein!	5 They lay the table, spread the cloth, they eat, they drink. Up, princes, grease the shield!
6 Denn so hat der Herr zu mir gesagt: Geh, stell einen Späher auf! Was er sieht, soll er melden.	6 For this is what the Lord has told me, 'Go, post a look-out, let him report what he sees.
7 Sieht er Wagen und Pferdegespanne, einen Zug von Eseln, einen Zug von Kamelen, soll er darauf achten, genau darauf achten.	7 He will see cavalry, horsemen two by two, men mounted on donkeys, men mounted on camels; let himwatch alertly, be very alert indeed!'
8 Der Späher rief: Herr, den ganzen Tag stehe ich auf meinem Posten, die ganze Nacht halte ich Wache.	8 Then the look-out shouted, 'On the watchtower, Lord, I stay al day and at my post I stand al night.
9 Seht, dort kommt ein Zug von Männern, dazu Pferdegespanne. Gefallen ist Babel, gefallen, und all seine Götterbilder hat man zu Boden geschmettert.	9 Now the cavalry is coming, horsemen two by two.' He shouted again and said, 'Babylon has fallen, hasfal en, and al the images of her gods he has shattered to the ground!'

12 Der Wächter antwortet: Es kommt der Morgen, es kommt auch die Nacht. Wenn ihr fragen wollt, kommt wieder und fragt!	12 The watchman answers, 'Morning is coming, then night again. If you want to ask, ask! Come back!Come here!'
13 Ausspruch über Arabien. Übernachtet im Gebüsch, in der Steppe, ihr Karawanen von Dedan!	13 Proclamation about the wastelands: In the thickets, on the wastelands, you spend the night, youcaravans of Dedanites.
14 Bringt den Durstigen Wasser, ihr Bewohner der Gegend von Tema! Kommt den Fliehenden entgegen mit Brot!	14 Bring water for the thirsty! The inhabitants of Tema went with bread to greet the fugitive.
15 Denn sie sind vor den Schwertern geflohen, vor dem gezückten Schwert, vor dem gespannten Bogen, vor dem schweren Kampf.	15 For these have fled before the sword, the naked sword and the bent bow, the press of battle.
16 Denn so hat der Herr zu mir gesagt: Noch ein Jahr - ein Söldnerjahr -, dann ist es mit der ganzen Macht Kedars zu Ende.	16 For this is what the Lord has told me, 'In one year's time as a hired worker reckons it, al the glory ofKedar will be finished
17 Von den Bogenschützen in Kedar bleiben nur wenige übrig. Der Herr, der Gott Israels, hat gesprochen. Ausspruch über das Tal der Vision. Was ist mit dir? Warum sind deine Bewohner alle auf die Dächer gestiegen,	17 and, of the valiant archers, the Kedarites, hardly any wil be left, for Yahweh, God of Israel, hasspoken.'
