1 Locutus est Dominus ad Moysen dicens:	1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
2 “ Loquere ad omnem coetum filiorum Israel et dices ad eos: Sancti estote, quia sanctus sum ego, Dominus Deus vester.	2 'Speak to the whole community of Israelites and say: "Be holy, for I, Yahweh your God, am holy.
3 Unusquisque matrem et patrem suum timeat. Sabbata mea custodite. Ego Dominus Deus vester.	3 "Each of you wil respect father and mother. "And you wil keep my Sabbaths; I am Yahweh your God.
4 Nolite converti ad idola nec deos conflatiles faciatis vobis. Ego Dominus Deus vester.	4 "Do not turn to idols and do not cast metal gods for yourselves. I am Yahweh your God.
5 Si immolaveritis hostiam pacificorum Domino, immolabitis eam ita ut sit vobis placabilis.	5 "If you offer a communion sacrifice to Yahweh, make it in such a way as to be acceptable.
6 Eo die, quo fuerit immolata, comedetur et die altero; quidquid autem residuum fuerit in diem tertium, igne comburetur.	6 It must be eaten the same day or the day after; whatever is left on the third day must be burnt.
7 Si quid post biduum comestum fuerit, profanum erit neque acceptabile.	7 If eaten on the third day it would be rotten food and not be acceptable.
8 Qui manducaverit illud, portabit iniquitatem suam, quia sanctum Domini polluit, et peribit anima illa de populo suo.	8 Anyone who eats it must bear the consequences of this guilt, having profaned Yahweh's holiness; thatperson wil be outlawed from his people.
9 Cum messueris segetes terrae tuae, non tondebis usque ad marginem agri tui nec remanentes spicas colliges.	9 "When you reap the harvest of your land, you wil not reap to the very edges of the field, nor wil yougather the gleanings of the harvest;
10 Neque in vinea tua racemos et grana decidentia congregabis, sed pauperibus et peregrinis carpenda dimittes. Ego Dominus Deus vester.	10 nor wil you strip your vineyard bare, nor pick up the fal en grapes. You will leave them for the poorand the stranger. I am Yahweh your God.
11 Non facietis furtum. Non mentiemini, nec decipiet unusquisque proximum suum.	11 "You will not steal, nor deal deceitful y or fraudulently with your fel ow-citizen.
12 Non periurabis in nomine meo nec pollues nomen Dei tui. Ego Dominus.	12 You wil not swear by my name with intent to deceive and thus profane the name of your God. I amYahweh.
13 Non facies calumniam proximo tuo nec spoliabis eum. Non morabitur merces mercennarii apud te usque mane.	13 You wil not exploit or rob your fel ow. You wil not keep back the labourer's wage until next morning.
14 Non maledices surdo nec coram caeco pones offendiculum; sed timebis Deum tuum. Ego Dominus.	14 You wil not curse the dumb or put an obstacle in the way of the blind, but will fear your God. I amYahweh.
15 Non facietis, quod iniquum est in iudicio. Non consideres personam pauperis nec honores vultum potentis. Iuste iudica proximo tuo.	15 "You will not be unjust in administering justice. You wil neither be partial to the poor nor overawed bythe great, but will administer justice to your fel ow-citizen justly.
16 Non eris criminator et susurro in populo tuo. Non stabis contra sanguinem proximi tui. Ego Dominus.	16 You wil not go about slandering your own family, nor will you put your neighbour's life in jeopardy. Iam Yahweh.
17 Ne oderis fratrem tuum in corde tuo; argue eum, ne habeas super illo peccatum.	17 You wil not harbour hatred for your brother. You will reprove your fel ow-countryman firmly and thusavoid burdening yourself with a sin.
18 Non quaeres ultionem nec irasceris civibus tuis. Diliges proximum tuum sicut teipsum. Ego Dominus.	18 You wil not exact vengeance on, or bear any sort of grudge against, the members of your race, butwil love your neighbour as yourself. I am Yahweh.
19 Leges meas custodite. Iumenta tua non facies coire cum alterius generis animantibus. Agrum tuum non seres diverso semine. Veste, quae ex duobus texta est, non indueris.	19 "You will keep my laws. "You will not mate your cattle with those of another kind; you wil not sow twokinds of grain in your field; you wil not wear a garment made from two kinds of fabric.
20 Homo, si dormierit cum muliere coitu seminis, quae sit ancilla destinata viro et tamen pretio non redempta nec libertate donata, vapulabunt ambo et non morientur, quia non fuit libera.	20 "If someone has intercourse with a woman who is the concubine slave of a man from whom she hasnot been redeemed and she has not been given her freedom, he wil be liable for a fine, but they will not incurdeath, since she was not a free woman.
21 Et in sacrificium suum pro delicto offeret Domino ad ostium tabernaculi conventus arietem;	21 He wil bring a sacrifice of reparation for Yahweh to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. This wil be aram of reparation,
22 expiabitque eum sacerdos ariete a peccato eius coram Domino, et dimittetur ei peccatum, quod peccavit.	22 and with the ram of reparation the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him before Yahweh forthe sin committed; and the sin he has committed wil be forgiven.
23 Quando ingressi fueritis terram et plantaveritis omnimoda ligna pomifera, non auferetis praeputia eorum, id est poma, quae germinant; tribus annis erunt vobis immunda ut praeputia, nec edetis ex eis.	23 "Once you have entered the country and planted any kind of fruit tree, you will regard its fruit asuncircumcised. For three years you wil count it as uncircumcised and it wil not be eaten;
24 Quarto anno omnis fructus eorum sanctificabitur laudabilis Domino.	24 in the fourth year, al its fruit wil be consecrated to Yahweh in a feast of praise;
25 Quinto autem anno comedetis fructus eorum, ut augeatur vobis proventus eorum. Ego Dominus Deus vester.	25 and in the fifth year you may eat its fruit, so that it may yield you even more. I am Yahweh your God.
26 Non comedetis cum sanguine. Non augurabimini nec observabitis omina.	26 "You will eat nothing with blood in it. You wil not practise divination or magic.
27 Neque in rotundum attondebitis marginem comae nec truncabis barbam.	27 "You will not round off your hair at the edges or trim the edges of your beard.
28 Et super mortuo non incidetis carnem vestram neque figuras aliquas in cute incidetis vobis. Ego Dominus.	28 You wil not gash your bodies when someone dies, and you will not tattoo yourselves. I am Yahweh.
29 Ne polluas et prostituas filiam tuam, ne contaminetur terra et impleatur piaculo.	29 "Do not profane your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the country itself will become prostitutedand fil ed with incest.
30 Sabbata mea custodite et sanctuarium meum metuite. Ego Dominus.	30 "You will keep my Sabbaths and revere my sanctuary. I am Yahweh.
31 Non declinetis ad pythones nec ab hariolis aliquid sciscitemini, ut polluamini per eos. Ego Dominus Deus vester.	31 "Do not have recourse to the spirits of the dead or to magicians; they wil defile you. I, Yahweh, amyour God.
32 Coram cano capite consurge et honora personam senis; et time Deum tuum. Ego Dominus.	32 "You will stand up in the presence of grey hair, you wil honour the person of the aged and fear yourGod. I am Yahweh.
33 Si habitaverit tecum advena in terra vestra, non opprimetis eum;	33 "If you have resident aliens in your country, you wil not molest them.
34 sed sit inter vos quasi indigena, et diliges eum sicut teipsum: fuistis enim et vos advenae in terra Aegypti. Ego Dominus Deus vester.	34 You wil treat resident aliens as though they were native-born and love them as yourself -- for youyourselves were once aliens in Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.
35 Nolite facere iniquum aliquid in iudicio, in regula, in pondere, in mensura.	35 "You will not be unjust in administering justice as regards measures of length, weight or capacity.
36 Statera iusta, aequa pondera, iustum ephi aequumque hin sint vobis. Ego Dominus Deus vester, qui eduxi vos de terra Aegypti.	36 You wil have just scales, just weights, a just ephah and a just hin. I am Yahweh your God whobrought you out of Egypt;
37 Custodite omnia praecepta mea et universa iudicia et facite ea. Ego Dominus ”.	37 hence you are to keep al my laws and all my customs and put them into practice. I am Yahweh." '
