BIBBIA CEI 1974	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Il peccato di Giuda è scritto con uno stilo di ferro, con una punta di diamante è inciso sulla tavola del loro cuore e sugli angoli dei loro altari,	1 'The sin of Judah is written with an iron pen, engraved with a diamond point on the tablet of the heartand on the horns of their altars,
2 come per ricordare ai loro figli i loro altari e i loro pali sacri presso gli alberi verdi, sui colli elevati,	2 while their children remember their altars and their sacred pole beside the green trees, on the lofty hil s.
3 sui monti e in aperta campagna. "I tuoi averi e tutti i tuoi tesori li abbandonerò al saccheggio, a motivo di tutti i peccati che hai commessi in tutti i tuoi territori.	3 My mountain on the plain, your wealth and all your treasures I shal hand over to be plundered,because of the sin of your high places throughout your territory.
4 Tu dovrai ritirare la mano dall'eredità che ti avevo data; ti farò schiavo dei tuoi nemici in un paese che non conosci, perché avete acceso il fuoco della mia ira, che arderà sempre". Così dice il Signore:	4 You wil have to relinquish your heritage which I gave you; I wil enslave you to your enemies in acountry which you do not know, for my fiery anger kindled by you wil burn for ever.'
5 "Maledetto l'uomo che confida nell'uomo, che pone nella carne il suo sostegno e il cui cuore si allontana dal Signore.	5 Yahweh says this, 'Accursed be anyone who trusts in human beings, who relies on human strengthand whose heart turns from Yahweh.
6 Egli sarà come un tamerisco nella steppa, quando viene il bene non lo vede; dimorerà in luoghi aridi nel deserto, in una terra di salsedine, dove nessuno può vivere.	6 Such a person is like scrub in the wastelands: when good comes, it does not affect him since he livesin the parched places of the desert, uninhabited, salt land.
7 Benedetto l'uomo che confida nel Signore e il Signore è sua fiducia.	7 'Blessed is anyone who trusts in Yahweh, with Yahweh to rely on.
8 Egli è come un albero piantato lungo l'acqua, verso la corrente stende le radici; non teme quando viene il caldo, le sue foglie rimangono verdi; nell'anno della siccità non intristisce, non smette di produrre i suoi frutti.	8 Such a person is like a tree by the waterside that thrusts its roots to the stream: when the heat comes ithas nothing to fear, its foliage stays green; untroubled in a year of drought, it never stops bearing fruit.
9 Più fallace di ogni altra cosa è il cuore e difficilmente guaribile; chi lo può conoscere?	9 'The heart is more devious than any other thing, and is depraved; who can pierce its secrets?
10 Io, il Signore, scruto la mente e saggio i cuori, per rendere a ciascuno secondo la sua condotta, secondo il frutto delle sue azioni.	10 I, Yahweh, search the heart, test the motives, to give each person what his conduct and his actionsdeserve.
11 Come una pernice che cova uova da lei non deposte è chi accumula ricchezze, ma senza giustizia. A metà dei suoi giorni dovrà lasciarle e alla sua fine apparirà uno stolto".	11 'The partridge will hatch eggs it has not laid. 12 Trono di gloria, eccelso fin dal principio, è il luogo del nostro santuario!	12 A glorious throne, sublime from the beginning, such is our Holy Place.
13 O speranza di Israele, Signore, quanti ti abbandonano resteranno confusi; quanti si allontanano da te saranno scritti nella polvere, perché hanno abbandonato la fonte di acqua viva, il Signore.	13 Yahweh, hope of Israel, al who abandon you wil be put to shame, those who turn from you wil beregistered in the underworld, since they have abandoned Yahweh, the fountain of living water.
14 Guariscimi, Signore, e io sarò guarito, salvami e io sarò salvato, poiché tu sei il mio vanto.	14 Heal me, Yahweh, and I shall be healed, save me, and I shal be saved, for you are my praise.
15 Ecco, essi mi dicono: "Dov'è la parola del Signore? Si compia finalmente!".	15 Look, they keep saying to me, 'Where is Yahweh's word? Let it come true then!'
16 Io non ho insistito presso di te nella sventura né ho desiderato il giorno funesto, tu lo sai. Ciò che è uscito dalla mia bocca è innanzi a te.	16 Yet I have never urged you to send disaster, I never desired the fatal day, this you know; what camefrom my lips was not concealed from you.
17 Non essere per me causa di spavento, tu, mio solo rifugio nel giorno della sventura.	17 Do not be a terror to me, you, my refuge in time of disaster.
18 Siano confusi i miei avversari ma non io, si spaventino essi, ma non io. Manda contro di loro il giorno della sventura, distruggili, distruggili per sempre.	18 Let my persecutors be confounded, not me, let them, not me, be terrified. On them bring the day ofdisaster, destroy them, destroy them twice over!
19 Il Signore mi disse: "Va' a metterti alla porta dei Figli del popolo, per la quale entrano ed escono i re di Giuda, e a tutte le porte di Gerusalemme.	19 Yahweh said this to me, 'Go and stand at the Gate of the Sons of the People by which the kings ofJudah go in and out -- and at al the gates of Jerusalem.
20 Dirai loro: Ascoltate la parola del Signore, o re di Giuda e voi tutti Giudei e abitanti di Gerusalemme, che entrate per queste porte.	20 Say to them, "Listen to the word of Yahweh, you kings of Judah, al you people of Judah too, and alyou inhabitants of Jerusalem who pass through the gates.
21 Così dice il Signore: Per amore della vostra vita guardatevi dal trasportare un peso in giorno di sabato e dall'introdurlo per le porte di Gerusalemme.	21 Yahweh says this: As you value your lives, on no account carry a burden on the Sabbath day or bringit in through the gates of Jerusalem.
22 Non portate alcun peso fuori dalle vostre case in giorno di sabato e non fate alcun lavoro, ma santificate il giorno di sabato, come io ho comandato ai vostri padri.	22 Bring no burden out of your houses on the Sabbath day, and do no work. Keep the Sabbath day holy,as I ordered your ancestors.
23 Ma essi non vollero ascoltare né prestare orecchio, anzi indurirono la loro cervice per non ascoltarmi e per non accogliere la lezione.	23 They would not hear, would not pay attention; they deliberately refused to listen or accept instruction.
24 Ora, se mi ascolterete sul serio - dice il Signore - se non introdurrete nessun peso entro le porte di questa città in giorno di sabato e santificherete il giorno di sabato non eseguendo in esso alcun lavoro,	24 But if you listen careful y to me, Yahweh declares, and bring no burden in through the gates of this cityon the Sabbath day, if you keep the Sabbath holy and do no work on that day,
25 entreranno per le porte di questa città i re, che siederanno sul trono di Davide, su carri e su cavalli, essi e i loro ufficiali, gli uomini di Giuda e gli abitanti di Gerusalemme. Questa città sarà abitata per sempre.	25 then, through the gates of this city, kings and princes occupying the throne of David wil continue tomake their entry, riding in chariots or on horseback, they, their chief men, the people of Judah and theinhabitants of Jerusalem. And this city wil be inhabited for ever.
26 Verranno dalle città di Giuda e dai dintorni di Gerusalemme, dalla terra di Beniamino e dalla Sefèla, dai monti e dal meridione presentando olocausti, sacrifici, offerte e incenso e sacrifici di lode nel tempio del Signore.	26 They wil come from the towns of Judah, from the districts round Jerusalem, from the territory ofBenjamin, from the lowlands, from the highlands, from the Negeb, to offer burnt offering and sacrifice, and cerealoffering and incense, to offer thanksgiving sacrifices in the Temple of Yahweh.
27 Ma se non ascolterete il mio comando di santificare il giorno di sabato, di non trasportare pesi e di non introdurli entro le porte di Gerusalemme in giorno di sabato, io accenderò un fuoco alle sue porte; esso divorerà i palazzi di Gerusalemme e mai si estinguerà".	27 But if you do not listen to me to keep the Sabbath day holy, and to refrain from entering the gates ofJerusalem with burdens on the Sabbath day, then I shal set fire to its gates; fire wil devour the palaces ofJerusalem and not be quenched." '
