1 Quindi Davide, insieme con i capi dell'esercito, separò per il servizio i figli di Asaf, di Eman e di Idutun, che eseguivano la musica sacra con cetre, arpe e cembali. Il numero di questi uomini incaricati di tale attività fu:	1 For the liturgy, David and the religious officials selected the sons of Asaph, of Heman and ofJeduthun, who were to prophesy to the accompaniment of harps, lyres and cymbals. The list of ministrants forthis service was as follows:
2 Per i figli di Asaf: Zaccur, Giuseppe, Natania, Asareela; i figli di Asaf erano sotto la direzione di Asaf, che eseguiva la musica secondo le istruzioni del re.	2 Of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, Asharelah; the sons of Asaph were under thedirection of Asaph who prophesied at the king's direction.
3 Per Idutun i figli di Idutun: Ghedalia, Seri, Isaia, Casabià, Simei, Mattatia: sei sotto la direzione del loro padre Idutun, che cantava con cetre per celebrare e lodare il Signore.	3 Of Jeduthun there were the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Hashabiah and Mattithiah,six, under the direction of their father Jeduthun who, with the harp, prophesied when thanks and praise were tobe given to Yahweh.
4 Per Eman i figli di Eman: Bukkia, Mattania, Uzziel, Sebuel, Ierimòt, Anania, Anani, Eliata, Ghiddalti, Romamti-Èzer, Iosbekasa, Malloti, Cotir, Macaziot.	4 Of Heman there were the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hananiah,Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth.
5 Tutti costoro erano figli di Eman, veggente del re riguardo alle parole di Dio; per esaltare la sua potenza Dio concesse a Eman quattordici figli e tre figlie.	5 Al these were sons of Heman, the king's seer; at God's word they blew the horn. God gave Hemanfourteen sons and three daughters.
6 Tutti costoro, sotto la direzione del padre, cioè di Asaf, di Idutun e di Eman, cantavano nel tempio con cembali, arpe e cetre, per il servizio del tempio, agli ordini del re.	6 Under the king's direction al these had the duty of singing to the accompaniment of cymbal, lyre andharp for the liturgy of the house of God under the direction of their fathers. Asaph, Jeduthun and Heman,
7 Il numero di costoro, insieme con i fratelli, esperti nel canto del Signore, cioè tutti veramente capaci, era di duecentottantotto.	7 trained in the songs of Yahweh, with their brothers, numbered two hundred and eighty-eight, alexpert.
8 Per i loro turni di servizio furono sorteggiati i piccoli come i grandi, i maestri come i discepoli.	8 Junior and senior, master and pupil alike, they drew lots for their term of duty.
9 La prima sorte toccò a Giuseppe, con i fratelli e figli: dodici; la seconda a Ghedalia, con i fratelli e figli: dodici;	9 The first to whom the lot fel was the Asaphite, Joseph. The second was Gedaliah, who with his sonsand brothers made twelve.
10 la terza a Zaccur, con i figli e fratelli: dodici;	10 The third was Zaccur, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.
11 la quarta a Isri, con i figli e fratelli: dodici;	11 The fourth was Izri, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.
12 la quinta a Natania, con i figli e fratelli: dodici;	12 The fifth was Nethaniah, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.
13 la sesta a Bukkia, con i figli e fratelli: dodici;	13 The sixth was Bukkiah, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.
14 la settima a Iesareela, con i figli e fratelli: dodici;	14 The seventh was Jesharelah, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.
15 l'ottava a Isaia, con i figli e fratelli: dodici;	15 The eighth was Jeshaiah, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.
16 la nona a Mattania, con i figli e fratelli: dodici;	16 The ninth was Mattaniah, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.
17 la decima a Simei, con i figli e fratelli: dodici;	17 The tenth was Shimei, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.
18 l'undecima ad Azarel, con i figli e fratelli: dodici;	18 The eleventh was Azarel, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.
19 la dodicesima a Casabià, con i figli e fratelli: dodici;	19 The twelfth was Hashabiah, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.
20 la tredicesima a Subaèl, con i figli e fratelli: dodici;	20 The thirteenth was Shubael, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.
21 la quattordicesima a Mattatia, con i figli e fratelli: dodici;	21 The fourteenth was Mattithiah, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.
22 la quindicesima a Ieremòt, con i figli e fratelli: dodici;	22 The fifteenth was Jeremoth, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.
23 la sedicesima ad Anania, con i figli e fratelli: dodici;	23 The sixteenth was Hananiah, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.
24 la diciassettesima a Iosbecasa, con i figli e fratelli: dodici;	24 The seventeenth was Joshbekashah, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.
25 la diciottesima ad Anani, con i figli e fratelli: dodici;	25 The eighteenth was Hanani, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.
26 la diciannovesima a Malloti, con i figli e fratelli: dodici;	26 The nineteenth was Mal othi, who with his sons and brothers made twelve.
