| 2 Ma voi odiate il bene e amate il male! Strappano loro la pelle via dal corpo e la carne dalle ossa, | 2 and yet you hate what is good and love what is evil, skinning people alive, pul ing the flesh off theirbones, |
| 3 essi che si cibano della carne del mio popolo e tolgono loro la pelle via dal corpo e fiaccano loro le ossa; li spezzettano come la carne nella pentola e come il lesso dentro la caldaia. | 3 eating my people's flesh, stripping off their skin, breaking up their bones, chopping them up smal likeflesh for the pot, like meat in the stew-pan?' |
| 4 Allora leveranno il grido a Jahve ma egli non risponderà loro; anzi nasconderà loro la faccia, in quel tempo, poichè sono malvagi nelle loro azioni. | 4 Then they wil cal to Yahweh, but he wil not answer them. When the time comes he will hide his facefrom them because of the crimes they have committed. |
| 5 Così dice Jahve contro i profeti che seducono il mio popolo, che, se hanno da mordere con i denti, proclamano: “ Pace!” ma a chi non'’mette loro nulla in bocca dichiarano guerra. | 5 Yahweh says this against the prophets who lead my people astray: So long as they have something toeat they cry 'Peace'. But on anyone who puts nothing into their mouths they declare war. |
| 6 Sì, la vostra è una notte senza visione, la vostra è un’oscurità senza vaticinio. Il sole tramonta sui profeti, imbruna su di essi il giorno. | 6 And so, for you, night wil be without vision and for you the darkness without divination. The sun wil setfor the prophets, the daylight will go black above them. |
| 7 Restano sconcertati i veggenti, arrossiscono gli indovini: tutti si velano la barba, perchè non hanno risposta da Dio. | 7 Then the seers wil be covered with shame, the diviners with confusion; they wil al put their hands overtheir mouths because there is no answer from God. |
| 8 E invece, quanto a me, mi sento pieno di forza, di spirito di Jahve, di diritto e di coraggio, per denunciare a Giacobbe i suoi falli e a Israele i suoi peccati. | 8 Not so with me, I am ful of strength (ful of Yahweh's spirit), of the sense of right, of energy to accuseJacob of his crime and Israel of his sin. |
| 9 Udite questo, capi della casa di Giacobbe e governanti della casa di Israele, che aborrite il diritto e storcete ogni cosa retta, | 9 Kindly listen to this, you leaders of the House of Jacob, you princes of the House of Israel, who detestjustice, wresting it from its honest course, |
| 10 che edificate Sion con il sangue e Gerusalemme con il sopruso. | 10 who build Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity! |
| 11 I suoi capi giudicano per mance, i suoi sacerdoti dànno indicazioni per paga, i suoi profeti esercitano la divinazione per denaro è e fanno assegnamento su Jahve, dicendo: « Forse non c’è Jahve in mezzo a noi? Non ci coglierà nessun male! ”. | 11 Her leaders give verdicts for presents, her priests take a fee for their rulings, her prophets divine formoney and yet they rely on Yahweh! 'Isn't Yahweh among us?' they say, 'No disaster is going to overtake us.' |
| 12 Perciò, per vostra causa: Sion sarà arato come un campo, Gerusalemme sarà ridotta in un mucchio di rovine e il monte del tempio in un’altura sterposa». | 12 That is why, thanks to you, Zion will become ploughland, Jerusalem a heap of rubble and the TempleMount a wooded height. |
