1 On introduisit l'arche de Dieu et on la déposa au centre de la tente que David avait faitdresser pour elle. On offrit devant Dieu des holocaustes et des sacrifices de communion.	1 And so they took the ark of God, and they set it in the midst of the tabernacle, which David had pitched for it. And they offered holocausts and peace offerings before God.
2 Lorsque David eut achevé d'offrir ces holocaustes et ces sacrifices de communion, il bénit lepeuple au nom de Yahvé.	2 And when David had completed offering holocausts and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord.
3 Puis il fit une distribution à tous les Israélites, hommes et femmes; pour chacun, unecouronne de pain, une masse de dattes et un gâteau de raisins secs.	3 And he divided to every single one, from men even to women, a twist of bread, and a piece of roasted beef, and fine wheat flour fried with oil.
4 David mit des lévites en service devant l'arche de Yahvé pour célébrer, glorifier et louerYahvé, le Dieu d'Israël,	4 And he appointed some from the Levites who would minister before the ark of the Lord, and commemorate his works, and glorify and praise the Lord, the God of Israel.
5 Asaph le premier, Zekarya en second, puis Uzziel, Shemiramot, Yehiel, Mattitya, Eliab,Benayahu, Obed-Edom et Yeïel. Ils jouaient de la lyre et de la cithare, tandis qu'Asaph faisait retentir lescymbales.	5 Asaph was the leader, and second to him was Zechariah. In addition, there were Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obededom. And Jeiel was over the instruments of the psaltery and the harps. But Asaph sounded out with the cymbals.
6 Les prêtres Benayahu et Yahaziel ne cessaient pas de jouer de la trompette devant l'arche del'alliance de Dieu.	6 Truly, the priests, Benaiah and Jahaziel, were to sound the trumpet continually before the ark of the covenant of the Lord.
7 Ce jour-là David, louant le premier Yahvé, confia cette louange à Asaph et à ses frères:	7 In that day, David made Asaph the leader, in order to confess to the Lord with his brothers:
8 Rendez grâce à Yahvé, criez son nom, annoncez parmi les peuples ses hauts faits!	8 “Confess to the Lord, and invoke his name. Make known his endeavors among the peoples.
9 Chantez-le, jouez pour lui, répétez toutes ses merveilles!	9 Sing to him, and sing psalms to him, and describe all his miracles.
10 Tirez gloire de son nom de sainteté, joie pour les coeurs qui cherchent Yahvé!	10 Praise his holy name! Let the heart of those who seek the Lord rejoice!
11 Recherchez Yahvé et sa force, sans relâche poursuivez sa face!	11 Seek the Lord and his virtue. Seek his face always.
12 rappelez-vous quelles merveilles il a faites, ses miracles et les jugements de sa bouche!	12 Remember his miracles, which he has accomplished, his signs, and the judgments of his mouth.
13 Lignée d'Israël son serviteur, enfants de Jacob, ses élus,	13 O offspring of Israel, his servants! O sons of Jacob, his elect!
14 c'est lui Yahvé notre Dieu; sur toute la terre ses jugements!	14 He is the Lord our God. His judgments are throughout all the earth.
15 Rappelez-vous à jamais son alliance, parole promulguée pour mille générations,	15 Remember forever his covenant, the word that he instructed unto a thousand generations,
16 pacte conclu avec Abraham, serment qu'il fit à Isaac.	16 the covenant that he formed with Abraham, and his oath with Isaac.
17 Il l'érigea en loi pour Jacob, pour Israël en alliance à jamais,	17 And he appointed the same to Jacob as a precept, and to Israel as an everlasting pact,
18 disant: "Je te donne une terre, Canaan, votre part d'héritage,	18 saying: ‘To you, I will give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance.’
19 là où l'on a pu vous compter, peu nombreux, étrangers au pays."	19 At that time, they were small in number, they were few and were settlers there.
20 Ils allaient de nation en nation, d'un royaume à un peuple différent;	20 And they passed through, from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people.
21 il ne laissa personne les opprimer, à cause d'eux il châtia des rois:	21 He did not permit anyone to falsely accuse them. Instead, he reproved kings on their behalf:
22 "Ne touchez pas à qui m'est consacré, à mes prophètes ne faites pas de mal!"	22 ‘Do not touch my Christ. And do not malign my prophets.’
23 Chantez à Yahvé, toute la terre! Proclamez jour après jour son salut,	23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth! Announce his salvation, from day to day.
24 racontez aux nations sa gloire, à tous les peuples ses merveilles!	24 Describe his glory among the Gentiles, his miracles among all the peoples.
25 Très grand Yahvé, et louable hautement, redoutable, lui, par-dessus tous les dieux.	25 For the Lord is great and exceedingly praiseworthy. And he is terrible, above all gods.
26 Néant, tous les dieux des nations. C'est Yahvé qui fit les cieux.	26 For all the gods of the peoples are idols. But the Lord made the heavens.
27 Devant lui, splendeur et majesté, dans son sanctuaire puissance et allégresse.	27 Confession and magnificence are before him. Strength and gladness are in his place.
28 Rapportez à Yahvé, familles des peuples, rapportez à Yahvé gloire et puissance,	28 Bring to the Lord, O families of the peoples, bring to the Lord glory and dominion.
29 rapportez à Yahvé la gloire de son nom. Présentez l'oblation, portez-la devant lui, adorezYahvé dans son parvis de sainteté!	29 Give glory to the Lord, to his name. Lift up sacrifice, and approach before his sight. And adore the Lord in holy attire.
30 Tremblez devant lui, toute la terre! Il fixa l'univers, inébranlable.	30 Let all the earth be moved before his face. For he founded the globe immoveable.
31 Joie au ciel! exulte la terre! Dites chez les païens: "C'est Yahvé qui règne!"	31 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth exult. And let them say among the nations, ‘The Lord has reigned.’
32 Que gronde la mer et sa plénitude! Que jubile la campagne, et tout son fruit!	32 Let the sea roar, with all its plenitude. Let the fields exult, with all that is in them.
33 Que tous les arbres des forêts crient de joie! à la face de Yahvé, car il vient pour juger laterre.	33 Then the trees of the forest will give praise before the Lord. For he comes to judge the earth.
34 Rendez grâces à Yahvé, car il est bon, car éternel est son amour!	34 Confess to the Lord, for he is good. For his mercy is eternal.
35 Dites: Sauve-nous, Dieu de notre salut, rassemble-nous, retire-nous du milieu des païens,que nous rendions grâces à ton saint nom, et nous félicitions en ta louange.	35 And say: ‘Save us, O God our savior! And gather us together, and rescue us from the nations, so that we may confess to your holy name, and may exult in your songs.
36 Béni soit Yahvé le Dieu d'Israël depuis toujours jusqu'à toujours! Et que tout le peuple diseAmen! Alleluia!	36 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from eternity to eternity.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen,’ and let them sing a hymn to the Lord.”
37 David laissa là, devant l'arche de l'alliance de Yahvé, Asaph et ses frères, pour assurer unservice permanent devant l'arche suivant le rituel quotidien,	37 And so, there before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, he left Asaph and his brothers, so that they might minister in the sight of the ark continually, throughout each day, and in their turns.
38 ainsi qu'Obed-Edom et ses 68 frères. Obed-Edom, fils de Yedutûn, et Hosa étaient portiers.	38 Now Obededom and his brothers were sixty-eight. And he appointed Obededom, the son of Jeduthun, and Hosah to be porters.
39 Quant au prêtre Sadoq et aux prêtres ses frères, il les laissa devant la Demeure de Yahvé,sur le haut lieu de Gabaôn,	39 But Zadok the priest, and his brothers the priests, were before the tabernacle of the Lord in the high place, which was in Gibeon,
40 pour offrir en permanence des holocaustes à Yahvé sur l'autel des holocaustes, matin et soir,et faire tout ce qui est écrit dans la Loi de Yahvé prescrite à Israël.	40 so that they could offer holocausts to the Lord upon the altar of holocausts continually, morning and evening, according to all that was written in the law of the Lord, which he instructed to Israel.
41 Il y avait avec eux Hémân, Yedutûn, et le restant de l'élite que l'on avait nominativementdésignée pour rendre grâce à Dieu, "car éternel est son amour."	41 And after him, Heman, and Jeduthun, and the remainder of the elect, each one by his name, were appointed to confess to the Lord: “For his mercy endures forever.”
42 Ils avaient avec eux Hémân et Yedutûn, chargés de faire retentir les trompettes, lescymbales et les instruments accompagnant les cantiques divins. Les fils de Yedutûn étaient préposés à la porte.	42 Also Heman and Jeduthun sounded the trumpet, and they played upon the cymbals, and upon every kind of musical instrument, in order to sing praises to God. But the sons of Jeduthun he made to be porters.
43 Tout le peuple s'en alla, chacun chez soi, et David s'en retourna bénir sa maisonnée.	43 And all the people returned to their houses, and David also, so that he might bless his own house too.
