Premier livre des Chroniques 16

JERUSALEM	NEW JERUSALEM
1 On introduisit l'arche de Dieu et on la déposa au centre de la tente que David avait faitdresser pour elle. On offrit devant Dieu des holocaustes et des sacrifices de communion.	1 They brought the ark of God in and put it inside the tent which David had erected for it, and broughtburnt offerings and made communion sacrifices in God's presence.
2 Lorsque David eut achevé d'offrir ces holocaustes et ces sacrifices de communion, il bénit lepeuple au nom de Yahvé.	2 And when David had finished making burnt offerings and communion sacrifices, he blessed thepeople in the name of Yahweh.
3 Puis il fit une distribution à tous les Israélites, hommes et femmes; pour chacun, unecouronne de pain, une masse de dattes et un gâteau de raisins secs.	3 To all the Israelites, both men and women, to each, he then distributed a loaf of bread, a portion ofmeat and a raisin cake.
4 David mit des lévites en service devant l'arche de Yahvé pour célébrer, glorifier et louerYahvé, le Dieu d'Israël,	4 He appointed some of the Levites as ministers before the ark of Yahweh, to extol, glorify and praiseYahweh, God of Israel;
5 Asaph le premier, Zekarya en second, puis Uzziel, Shemiramot, Yehiel, Mattitya, Eliab,Benayahu, Obed-Edom et Yeïel. Ils jouaient de la lyre et de la cithare, tandis qu'Asaph faisait retentir lescymbales.	5 first Asaph, second Zechariah, then Uzziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-Edom and Jeiel, who played the lyre and harp, while Asaph played the cymbals.
6 Les prêtres Benayahu et Yahaziel ne cessaient pas de jouer de la trompette devant l'arche del'alliance de Dieu.	6 The priests Benaiah and Jahaziel continually blew the trumpet before the ark of the covenant of God.
7 Ce jour-là David, louant le premier Yahvé, confia cette louange à Asaph et à ses frères:	7 On that day, David was the first to assign to Asaph and his kinsmen the giving of thanks to Yahweh:
8 Rendez grâce à Yahvé, criez son nom, annoncez parmi les peuples ses hauts faits!	8 Give thanks to Yahweh, call his name aloud, proclaim his deeds to the peoples.
9 Chantez-le, jouez pour lui, répétez toutes ses merveilles!	9 Chant to him, play to him, sing about al his wonders!
10 Tirez gloire de son nom de sainteté, joie pour les coeurs qui cherchent Yahvé!	10 Take pride in his holy name, let your heart rejoice, you seekers of Yahweh!
11 Recherchez Yahvé et sa force, sans relâche poursuivez sa face!	11 Seek out Yahweh, seek his strength, continual y seek out his presence!
12 rappelez-vous quelles merveilles il a faites, ses miracles et les jugements de sa bouche!	12 Remember what wonders he has done, what miracles, what rulings he has given,
13 Lignée d'Israël son serviteur, enfants de Jacob, ses élus,	13 you offspring of Israel his servant, you children of Jacob his chosen one!
14 c'est lui Yahvé notre Dieu; sur toute la terre ses jugements!	14 For he is Yahweh our God, his authority extends throughout the world.
15 Rappelez-vous à jamais son alliance, parole promulguée pour mille générations,	15 For ever remember his covenant, the pact imposed for a thousand generations,
16 pacte conclu avec Abraham, serment qu'il fit à Isaac.	16 which he concluded with Abraham, which was sworn by him to Isaac,
17 Il l'érigea en loi pour Jacob, pour Israël en alliance à jamais,	17 since he confirmed it as a law for Jacob, as an eternal covenant for Israel,
18 disant: "Je te donne une terre, Canaan, votre part d'héritage,	18 saying, 'I wil give you the country; Canaan is the measure of your inheritance,
19 là où l'on a pu vous compter, peu nombreux, étrangers au pays."	19 'though you are few in number, only a few strangers there!'
20 Ils allaient de nation en nation, d'un royaume à un peuple différent;	20 As they wandered from nation to nation, from this kingdom to that people,
21 il ne laissa personne les opprimer, à cause d'eux il châtia des rois:	21 he would not let anyone oppress them and on their account he admonished kings,
22 "Ne touchez pas à qui m'est consacré, à mes prophètes ne faites pas de mal!"	22 'You are not to touch my anointed ones, my prophets are not to be harmed!'
23 Chantez à Yahvé, toute la terre! Proclamez jour après jour son salut,	23 Sing to Yahweh, all the earth, day after day proclaim his salvation!
24 racontez aux nations sa gloire, à tous les peuples ses merveilles!	24 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvels to every people!
25 Très grand Yahvé, et louable hautement, redoutable, lui, par-dessus tous les dieux.	25 Great is Yahweh, worthy of all praise, more awesome than any of the gods.
26 Néant, tous les dieux des nations. C'est Yahvé qui fit les cieux.	26 Nothingness, al the gods of the nations. Yahweh it was who made the heavens,
27 Devant lui, splendeur et majesté, dans son sanctuaire puissance et allégresse.	27 in his presence are splendour and majesty, in his sanctuary strength and joy.
28 Rapportez à Yahvé, familles des peuples, rapportez à Yahvé gloire et puissance,	28 Give Yahweh his due, families of peoples, give Yahweh his due of glory and power,
29 rapportez à Yahvé la gloire de son nom. Présentez l'oblation, portez-la devant lui, adorezYahvé dans son parvis de sainteté!	29 give Yahweh the glory due to his name! Bring an offering and enter his courts, bow down to Yahwehin his sacred court,
30 Tremblez devant lui, toute la terre! Il fixa l'univers, inébranlable.	30 tremble before him, al the earth! The world is firm, it cannot be moved,
31 Joie au ciel! exulte la terre! Dites chez les païens: "C'est Yahvé qui règne!"	31 let the heavens rejoice and earth be glad! Say among the nations, 'Yahweh is king!'
32 Que gronde la mer et sa plénitude! Que jubile la campagne, et tout son fruit!	32 Let the sea thunder and al it holds, the countryside exult and everything that is in it,
33 Que tous les arbres des forêts crient de joie! à la face de Yahvé, car il vient pour juger laterre.	33 and al the trees of the forest cry out for joy at Yahweh's approach, for he is coming to judge theearth.
34 Rendez grâces à Yahvé, car il est bon, car éternel est son amour!	34 Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his faithful love lasts for ever!
35 Dites: Sauve-nous, Dieu de notre salut, rassemble-nous, retire-nous du milieu des païens,que nous rendions grâces à ton saint nom, et nous félicitions en ta louange.	35 Say, 'Save us, God of our salvation, gather us together and free us from the nations, so that we maygive thanks to your holy name -- to be extolled whenever you are praised!'
36 Béni soit Yahvé le Dieu d'Israël depuis toujours jusqu'à toujours! Et que tout le peuple diseAmen! Alleluia!	36 Blessed be Yahweh, God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! To which all the people said,'Amen, Al eluia!'
37 David laissa là, devant l'arche de l'alliance de Yahvé, Asaph et ses frères, pour assurer unservice permanent devant l'arche suivant le rituel quotidien,	37 There before the ark of the covenant of Yahweh David left Asaph and his kinsmen to maintain apermanent ministry before the ark as each day's ritual required,
38 ainsi qu'Obed-Edom et ses 68 frères. Obed-Edom, fils de Yedutûn, et Hosa étaient portiers.	38 and also Obed-Edom with his sixty-eight kinsmen. Obed-Edom son of Jeduthun, and Hosah weregatekeepers.
39 Quant au prêtre Sadoq et aux prêtres ses frères, il les laissa devant la Demeure de Yahvé,sur le haut lieu de Gabaôn,	39 Zadok the priest and the priests, his kinsmen, he left before the dwelling of Yahweh on the high placeat Gibeon
40 pour offrir en permanence des holocaustes à Yahvé sur l'autel des holocaustes, matin et soir,et faire tout ce qui est écrit dans la Loi de Yahvé prescrite à Israël.	40 to bring burnt offerings to Yahweh unfailingly, morning and evening, on the altar of burnt offering, andto carry out al that is written in the Law of Yahweh laid down for Israel.
41 Il y avait avec eux Hémân, Yedutûn, et le restant de l'élite que l'on avait nominativementdésignée pour rendre grâce à Dieu, "car éternel est son amour."	41 With them were Heman and Jeduthun and the rest of those who were chosen and assigned by nameto give thanks to Yahweh, 'for his faithful love lasts for ever'.
42 Ils avaient avec eux Hémân et Yedutûn, chargés de faire retentir les trompettes, lescymbales et les instruments accompagnant les cantiques divins. Les fils de Yedutûn étaient préposés à la porte.	42 With them were Heman and Jeduthun to play trumpets and cymbals, as wel as instruments foraccompanying sacred song. The sons of Jeduthun were in charge of the gates.
43 Tout le peuple s'en alla, chacun chez soi, et David s'en retourna bénir sa maisonnée.	43 Then al the people went back to their homes, and David went back to bless his household.
