Psalms 105

NEW JERUSALEM	VULGATA
1 Al eluia! Give thanks to Yahweh, cal on his name, proclaim his deeds to the peoples!	1 Alleluja. Confitemini Domino, quoniam bonus, quoniam in sæculum misericordia ejus.
2 Sing to him, make music for him, recount all his wonders!	2 Quis loquetur potentias Domini ; auditas faciet omnes laudes ejus ?
3 Glory in his holy name, let the hearts that seek Yahweh rejoice!	3 Beati qui custodiunt judicium, et faciunt justitiam in omni tempore.
4 Seek Yahweh and his strength, tirelessly seek his presence!	4 Memento nostri, Domine, in beneplacito populi tui ; visita nos in salutari tuo :
5 Remember the marvels he has done, his wonders, the judgements he has spoken.	5 ad videndum in bonitate electorum tuorum ; ad lætandum in lætitia gentis tuæ : ut lauderis cum hæreditate tua.
6 Stock of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob whom he chose!	6 Peccavimus cum patribus nostris : injuste egimus ; iniquitatem fecimus.
7 He is Yahweh our God, his judgements touch the whole world.	7 Patres nostri in Ægypto non intellexerunt mirabilia tua ; non fuerunt memores multitudinis misericordiæ tuæ. Et irritaverunt ascendentes in mare, mare Rubrum ;
8 He remembers his covenant for ever, the promise he laid down for a thousand generations,	8 et salvavit eos propter nomen suum, ut notam faceret potentiam suam.
9 which he concluded with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.	9 Et increpuit mare Rubrum et exsiccatum est, et deduxit eos in abyssis sicut in deserto.
10 He established it as a statute for Jacob, an everlasting covenant with Israel,	10 Et salvavit eos de manu odientium, et redemit eos de manu inimici.
11 saying, 'To you I give a land, Canaan, your allotted birthright.'	11 Et operuit aqua tribulantes eos ; unus ex eis non remansit.
12 When they were insignificant in numbers, a handful of strangers in the land,	12 Et crediderunt verbis ejus, et laudaverunt laudem ejus.
13 wandering from country to country, from one kingdom and nation to another,	13 Cito fecerunt ; obliti sunt operum ejus : et non sustinuerunt consilium ejus.
14 he al owed no one to oppress them; for their sake he instructed kings,	14 Et concupierunt concupiscentiam in deserto, et tentaverunt Deum in inaquoso.
15 'Do not touch my anointed ones, to my prophets you may do no harm.'	15 Et dedit eis petitionem ipsorum, et misit saturitatem in animas eorum.
16 He cal ed down famine on the land, he took away their food supply;	16 Et irritaverunt Moysen in castris ; Aaron, sanctum Domini.
17 he sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, sold as a slave.	17 Aperta est terra, et deglutivit Dathan, et operuit super congregationem Abiron.
18 So his feet were weighed down with shackles, his neck was put in irons.	18 Et exarsit ignis in synagoga eorum : flamma combussit peccatores.
19 In due time his prophecy was fulfilled, the word of Yahweh proved him true.	19 Et fecerunt vitulum in Horeb, et adoraverunt sculptile.
20 The king sent orders to release him, the ruler of nations set him free;	20 Et mutaverunt gloriam suam in similitudinem vituli comedentis f?num.
21 he put him in charge of his household, the ruler of al he possessed,	21 Obliti sunt Deum qui salvavit eos ; qui fecit magnalia in Ægypto,
22 to instruct his princes as he saw fit, to teach his counsel ors wisdom.	22 mirabilia in terra Cham, terribilia in mari Rubro.
23 Then Israel migrated to Egypt, Jacob settled in the country of Ham.	23 Et dixit ut disperderet eos, si non Moyses, electus ejus, stetisset in confractione in conspectu ejus, ut averteret iram ejus, ne disperderet eos.
24 He made his people increase in numbers, he gave them more strength than their enemies,	24 Et pro nihilo habuerunt terram desiderabilem ; non crediderunt verbo ejus.
25 whose heart he turned to hate his own people, to double-cross his servants.	25 Et murmuraverunt in tabernaculis suis ; non exaudierunt vocem Domini.
26 He sent his servant Moses, and Aaron, the man of his choice.	26 Et elevavit manum suam super eos ut prosterneret eos in deserto :
27 They worked there the wonders he commanded, marvels in the country of Ham.	27 et ut dejiceret semen eorum in nationibus, et dispergeret eos in regionibus.
28 Darkness he sent, and darkness fel , but that nation defied his orders.	28 Et initiati sunt Beelphegor, et comederunt sacrificia mortuorum.
29 He turned their rivers to blood, and kil ed al the fish in them.	29 Et irritaverunt eum in adinventionibus suis, et multiplicata est in eis ruina.
30 Their country was overrun with frogs, even in the royal apartments;	30 Et stetit Phinees, et placavit, et cessavit quassatio.
31 at his word came flies, and mosquitoes throughout the country.	31 Et reputatum est ei in justitiam, in generationem et generationem usque in sempiternum.
32 He gave them hail as their rain, flames of fire in their land;	32 Et irritaverunt eum ad aquas contradictionis, et vexatus est Moyses propter eos :
33 he blasted their vine and their fig tree, and shattered the trees of the country.	33 quia exacerbaverunt spiritum ejus, et distinxit in labiis suis.
34 At his word came locusts, hoppers beyond al counting;	34 Non disperdiderunt gentes quas dixit Dominus illis :
35 they devoured every green thing in the land, devoured al the produce of the soil.	35 et commisti sunt inter gentes, et didicerunt opera eorum ;
36 He struck al the first-born in their land, the flower of all their manhood;	36 et servierunt sculptilibus eorum, et factum est illis in scandalum.
37 he led Israel out with silver and gold; in their tribes there was none who stumbled.	37 Et immolaverunt filios suos et filias suas dæmoniis.
38 Egypt was glad at their leaving, for terror of Israel had seized them.	38 Et effuderunt sanguinem innocentem, sanguinem filiorum suorum et filiarum suarum, quas sacrificaverunt sculptilibus Chanaan. Et infecta est terra in sanguinibus,
39 He spread out a cloud to cover them, and fire to light up the night.	39 et contaminata est in operibus eorum : et fornicati sunt in adinventionibus suis.
40 They asked and he brought them quails, food from heaven to their hearts' content;	40 Et iratus est furore Dominus in populum suum, et abominatus est hæreditatem suam.
41 he opened a rock, the waters gushed out, and flowed in dry ground as a river.	41 Et tradidit eos in manus gentium ; et dominati sunt eorum qui oderunt eos.
42 Faithful to his sacred promise, given to his servant Abraham,	42 Et tribulaverunt eos inimici eorum, et humiliati sunt sub manibus eorum ;
43 he led out his people with rejoicing, his chosen ones with shouts of joy.	43 sæpe liberavit eos. Ipsi autem exacerbaverunt eum in consilio suo, et humiliati sunt in iniquitatibus suis.
44 He gave them the territories of nations, they reaped the fruit of other people's labours,	44 Et vidit cum tribularentur, et audivit orationem eorum.
45 on condition that they kept his statutes, and remained obedient to his laws.	45 Et memor fuit testamenti sui, et p?nituit eum secundum multitudinem misericordiæ suæ :
	46 et dedit eos in misericordias, in conspectu omnium qui ceperant eos.
	47 Salvos nos fac, Domine Deus noster, et congrega nos de nationibus : ut confiteamur nomini sancto tuo, et gloriemur in laude tua.
	48 Benedictus Dominus Deus Israël, a sæculo et usque in sæculum ; et dicet omnis populus : Fiat, fiat.
