Psalms 105

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Al eluia! Give thanks to Yahweh, cal on his name, proclaim his deeds to the peoples!	1 ¡Aleluya! ¡Dad gracias a Yahveh, aclamad su nombre, divulgad entre los pueblos sus hazañas!
2 Sing to him, make music for him, recount all his wonders!	2 ¡Cantadle, salmodiad para él, sus maravillas todas recitad;
3 Glory in his holy name, let the hearts that seek Yahweh rejoice!	3 gloriaos en su santo nombre, se alegre el corazón de los que buscan a Yahveh!
4 Seek Yahweh and his strength, tirelessly seek his presence!	4 ¡Buscad a Yahveh y su fuerza, id tras su rostro sin descanso,
5 Remember the marvels he has done, his wonders, the judgements he has spoken.	5 recordad las maravillas que él ha hecho, sus prodigios y los juicios de su boca!
6 Stock of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob whom he chose!	6 Raza de Abraham, su servidor, hijos de Jacob, su elegido:
7 He is Yahweh our God, his judgements touch the whole world.	7 él, Yahveh, es nuestro Dios, por toda la tierra sus juicios.
8 He remembers his covenant for ever, the promise he laid down for a thousand generations,	8 El se acuerda por siempre de su alianza, palabra que impuso a mil generaciones,
9 which he concluded with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.	9 lo que pactó con Abraham, el juramento que hizo a Isaac,
10 He established it as a statute for Jacob, an everlasting covenant with Israel,	10 y que puso a Jacob como precepto, a Israel como alianza eterna,
11 saying, 'To you I give a land, Canaan, your allotted birthright.'	11 diciendo: «Yo te daré la tierra de Canaán por parte de vuestra herencia».
12 When they were insignificant in numbers, a handful of strangers in the land,	12 Aunque ellos eran poco numerosos, gente de paso y forasteros allí,
13 wandering from country to country, from one kingdom and nation to another,	13 cuando iban de nación en nación, desde un reino a otro pueblo,
14 he al owed no one to oppress them; for their sake he instructed kings,	14 a nadie permitió oprimirles, por ellos castigó a los reyes:
15 'Do not touch my anointed ones, to my prophets you may do no harm.'	15 «Guardaos de tocar a mis ungidos, ni mal alguno hagáis a mis profetas».
16 He cal ed down famine on the land, he took away their food supply;	16 Llamó al hambre sobre aquel país, todo bastón de pan rompió;
17 he sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, sold as a slave.	17 delante de ellos envió a un hombre, José, vendido como esclavo.
18 So his feet were weighed down with shackles, his neck was put in irons.	18 Sus pies vejaron con grilletes, por su cuello pasaron las cadenas,
19 In due time his prophecy was fulfilled, the word of Yahweh proved him true.	19 hasta que se cumplió su predicción, y le acreditó la palabra de Yahveh.
20 The king sent orders to release him, the ruler of nations set him free;	20 El rey mandó a soltarle, el soberano de pueblos, a dejarle libre;
21 he put him in charge of his household, the ruler of al he possessed,	21 le erigió señor sobre su casa, y de toda su hacienda soberano,
22 to instruct his princes as he saw fit, to teach his counsel ors wisdom.	22 para instruir a su gusto a sus magnates, y a sus ancianos hacer sabios.
23 Then Israel migrated to Egypt, Jacob settled in the country of Ham.	23 Entonces Israel entró en Egipto, Jacob residió en el país de Cam.
24 He made his people increase in numbers, he gave them more strength than their enemies,	24 El aumentó a su pueblo en gran manera, le hizo más fuerte que sus adversarios;
25 whose heart he turned to hate his own people, to double-cross his servants.	25 cambió el corazón de éstos para que odiasen a su pueblo y a sus siervos pusieran asechanzas.
26 He sent his servant Moses, and Aaron, the man of his choice.	26 Luego envió a Moisés su servidor, y Aarón, su escogido,
27 They worked there the wonders he commanded, marvels in the country of Ham.	27 que hicieron entre ellos sus señales anunciadas, prodigios en el país de Cam.
28 Darkness he sent, and darkness fel , but that nation defied his orders.	28 Mandó tinieblas y tinieblas hubo, mas ellos desafiaron sus palabras.
29 He turned their rivers to blood, and kil ed al the fish in them.	29 Trocó en sangre sus aguas y a sus peces dio muerte.
30 Their country was overrun with frogs, even in the royal apartments;	30 Pululó de ranas su país, hasta en las moradas de sus reyes;
31 at his word came flies, and mosquitoes throughout the country.	31 mandó él, y vinieron los mosquitos, los cínifes por toda su comarca.
32 He gave them hail as their rain, flames of fire in their land;	32 Les dio por lluvia el granizo, llamas de fuego en su país;
33 he blasted their vine and their fig tree, and shattered the trees of the country.	33 hirió sus viñedos, sus higueras, y los árboles quebró de su comarca.
34 At his word came locusts, hoppers beyond al counting;	34 Dio la orden, y llegó la langosta, y el pulgón en número incontable;
35 they devoured every green thing in the land, devoured al the produce of the soil.	35 comieron toda hierba en su país, comieron el fruto de su suelo.
36 He struck al the first-born in their land, the flower of all their manhood;	36 E hirió en su país a todo primogénito, las primicias de todo su vigor;
37 he led Israel out with silver and gold; in their tribes there was none who stumbled.	37 y a ellos los sacó con plata y oro, ni uno solo flaqueó de entre sus tribus.
38 Egypt was glad at their leaving, for terror of Israel had seized them.	38 Egipto se alegró de su salida, pues era presa del terror.
39 He spread out a cloud to cover them, and fire to light up the night.	39 El desplegó una nube por cubierta, y un fuego para alumbrar de noche.
40 They asked and he brought them quails, food from heaven to their hearts' content;	40 Pidieron, y trajo codornices, de pan de los cielos los hartó;
41 he opened a rock, the waters gushed out, and flowed in dry ground as a river.	41 abrió la roca, y brotaron las aguas, como río corrieron por los sequedales.
42 Faithful to his sacred promise, given to his servant Abraham,	42 Recordando su palabra sagrada dada a Abraham su servidor,
43 he led out his people with rejoicing, his chosen ones with shouts of joy.	43 sacó a su pueblo en alborozo, a sus elegidos entre gritos de júbilo.
44 He gave them the territories of nations, they reaped the fruit of other people's labours,	44 Y las tierras les dio de las naciones, el trabajo de las gentes heredaron,
45 on condition that they kept his statutes, and remained obedient to his laws.	45 a fin de que garden sus preceptos y sus leyes observen.
