Psalms 105

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Al eluia! Give thanks to Yahweh, cal on his name, proclaim his deeds to the peoples!	1 Lodate il Signore, invocate il suo nome; proclamate fra i popoli le sue imprese.
2 Sing to him, make music for him, recount all his wonders!	2 Cantate in suo onore, a lui inneggiate, meditate su tutti i suoi prodigi.
3 Glory in his holy name, let the hearts that seek Yahweh rejoice!	3 Gloriatevi del suo santo nome; si rallegri il cuore di quanti cercano il Signore.
4 Seek Yahweh and his strength, tirelessly seek his presence!	4 Ricercate il Signore e la sua potenza; ricercate il suo volto costantemente.
5 Remember the marvels he has done, his wonders, the judgements he has spoken.	5 Ricordate le meraviglie che egli ha compiute, i prodigiosi giudizi della sua bocca:
6 Stock of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob whom he chose!	6 voi, discendenza di Abramo, suo servo, figli di Giacobbe, suo eletto.
7 He is Yahweh our God, his judgements touch the whole world.	7 Egli è il Signore, vostro Dio; su tutta la terra sono i suoi giudizi.
8 He remembers his covenant for ever, the promise he laid down for a thousand generations,	8 Egli si ricorda per sempre del suo patto parola data per mille generazioni
9 which he concluded with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.	9 che fece con Abramo, del suo giuramento dato a Isacco,
10 He established it as a statute for Jacob, an everlasting covenant with Israel,	10 che a Giacobbe confermò come suo statuto e a Israele come eterna alleanza,
11 saying, 'To you I give a land, Canaan, your allotted birthright.'	11 quando disse: "A te darò la terra di Canaan, come vostra porzione di eredità".
12 When they were insignificant in numbers, a handful of strangers in the land,	12 Quando essi erano in piccolo numero, pochi e forestieri in quella terra,
13 wandering from country to country, from one kingdom and nation to another,	13 vaganti da nazione a nazione, da un regno a un altro popolo,
14 he al owed no one to oppress them; for their sake he instructed kings,	14 non permise che alcuno li opprimesse e punì i re a causa loro:

16 He cal ed down famine on the land, he took away their food supply;	16 Fece venire la fame sulla terra, tagliò ogni sostegno di pane.
17 he sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, sold as a slave.	17 Davanti a loro mandò un uomo; come schiavo fu venduto Giuseppe.
18 So his feet were weighed down with shackles, his neck was put in irons.	18 Strinsero in ceppi i suoi piedi, passò nel ferro la sua gola;
19 In due time his prophecy was fulfilled, the word of Yahweh proved him true.	19 finché la sua parola non si fu adempiuta, e il detto del Signore non l'ebbe giustificato.
20 The king sent orders to release him, the ruler of nations set him free;	20 Il re mandò a scioglierlo, il dominatore dei popoli mandò a liberarlo.
21 he put him in charge of his household, the ruler of al he possessed,	21 Lo elevò a signore della sua casa, sovrintendente a tutti i suoi averi,
22 to instruct his princes as he saw fit, to teach his counsel ors wisdom.	22 perché istruisse i suoi prìncipi secondo il suo beneplacito, e insegnasse la saggezza ai suoi anziani.
23 Then Israel migrated to Egypt, Jacob settled in the country of Ham.	23 Allora entrò Israele in Egitto, emigrò Giacobbe nella terra di Cam.
24 He made his people increase in numbers, he gave them more strength than their enemies,	24 Ma Dio rese assai fecondo il suo popolo, lo fece crescere più dei suoi nemici.
25 whose heart he turned to hate his own people, to double-cross his servants.	25 Mutò il loro cuore perché odiassero il suo popolo, perché contro i suoi servi agissero con inganno.
26 He sent his servant Moses, and Aaron, the man of his choice.	26 Mandò Mosè suo servo, Aronne che egli s'era scelto.
27 They worked there the wonders he commanded, marvels in the country of Ham.	27 Pose in loro le sue parole portentose, e i suoi prodigi nella terra di Cam.
28 Darkness he sent, and darkness fel , but that nation defied his orders.	28 Inviò le tenebre e si fece buio, ma non rispettarono le sue parole.

36 He struck al the first-born in their land, the flower of all their manhood;	36 Colpì ogni primogenito nella loro terra, tutte le primizie del loro vigore.
37 he led Israel out with silver and gold; in their tribes there was none who stumbled.	37 Fece uscire il suo popolo con argento e oro; non c'era alcun infermo fra le loro tribù.
38 Egypt was glad at their leaving, for terror of Israel had seized them.	38 Si rallegrò l'Egitto per la loro partenza, il loro terrore era caduto su di essi.
39 He spread out a cloud to cover them, and fire to light up the night.	39 Distese una nube a loro protezione, e un fuoco per illuminarli nella notte.
