Psalms 105

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Al eluia! Give thanks to Yahweh, cal on his name, proclaim his deeds to the peoples!	1 ¡Den gracias al Señor, invoquen su Nombre, hagan conocer entre los pueblos sus proezas;
2 Sing to him, make music for him, recount all his wonders!	2 canten al Señor con instrumentos musicales, pregonen todas sus maravillas!
3 Glory in his holy name, let the hearts that seek Yahweh rejoice!	3 ¡Gloríense en su santo Nombre, alégrense los que buscan al Señor!
4 Seek Yahweh and his strength, tirelessly seek his presence!	4 ¡Recurran al Señor y a su poder, busquen constantemente su rostro;
5 Remember the marvels he has done, his wonders, the judgements he has spoken.	5 recuerden las maravillas que él obró, sus portentos y los juicios de su boca!
6 Stock of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob whom he chose!	6 Descendientes de Abraham, su servidor, hijos de Jacob, su elegido:
7 He is Yahweh our God, his judgements touch the whole world.	7 el Señor es nuestro Dios, en toda la tierra rigen sus decretos.
8 He remembers his covenant for ever, the promise he laid down for a thousand generations,	8 El se acuerda eternamente de su alianza, de la palabra que dio por mil generaciones,
9 which he concluded with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.	9 del pacto que selló con Abraham, del juramento que hizo a Isaac:
10 He established it as a statute for Jacob, an everlasting covenant with Israel,	10 él lo confirmó como norma para Jacob, como alianza eterna para Israel,
11 saying, 'To you I give a land, Canaan, your allotted birthright.'	11 cuando dijo: «Yo te daré la tierra de Canaán, como porción hereditaria de todos ustedes».
12 When they were insignificant in numbers, a handful of strangers in the land,	12 Cuando formaban un grupo muy pequeño y eran extranjeros en aquellas regiones;
13 wandering from country to country, from one kingdom and nation to another,	13 cuando iban de nación en nación y pasaban de un reino a otro pueblo,
14 he al owed no one to oppress them; for their sake he instructed kings,	14 no toleró que nadie los oprimiera, y castigó a reyes, por amor a ellos:
15 'Do not touch my anointed ones, to my prophets you may do no harm.'	15 «No toquen a mis ungidos ni maltraten a mis profetas».
16 He cal ed down famine on the land, he took away their food supply;	16 El provocó una gran sequía en el país y agotó las provisiones,
17 he sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, sold as a slave.	17 Pero antes envió a un hombre, a José, que fue vendido como esclavo:
18 So his feet were weighed down with shackles, his neck was put in irons.	18 le ataron los pies con grillos y el hierro oprimió su garganta,
19 In due time his prophecy was fulfilled, the word of Yahweh proved him true.	19 hasta que se cumplió lo que él predijo, y la palabra del Señor lo acreditó.
20 The king sent orders to release him, the ruler of nations set him free;	20 el rey ordenó que lo soltaran, el soberano de pueblos lo puso en libertad;
21 he put him in charge of his household, the ruler of al he possessed,	21 lo nombró señor de su palacio y administrador de todos sus bienes,
22 to instruct his princes as he saw fit, to teach his counsel ors wisdom.	22 con pleno poder para instruir a los príncipes y enseñar sabiduría a los ancianos.
23 Then Israel migrated to Egypt, Jacob settled in the country of Ham.	23 Entonces Israel entró en Egipto, Jacob residió en la tierra de Cam,
24 He made his people increase in numbers, he gave them more strength than their enemies,	24 El Señor hizo a su pueblo muy fecundo, más fuerte que sus mismos opresores;
25 whose heart he turned to hate his own people, to double-cross his servants.	25 cambió el corazón de los egipcios, para que sintieran odio por su pueblo y trataran con perfidia a sus servidores.
26 He sent his servant Moses, and Aaron, the man of his choice.	26 Luego envió a Moisés, su servidor, y a Aarón, que era su elegido;
27 They worked there the wonders he commanded, marvels in the country of Ham.	27 por su intermedio realizó prodigios, hizo portentos en la tierra de Cam:
28 Darkness he sent, and darkness fel , but that nation defied his orders.	28 atrajo las tinieblas, y hubo oscuridad, pero ellos rechazaron sus palabras.
29 He turned their rivers to blood, and kil ed al the fish in them.	29 Transformó sus aguas en sangre e hizo morir a sus peces;
30 Their country was overrun with frogs, even in the royal apartments;	30 el país quedó cubierto de ranas, hasta en los aposentos del rey;
31 at his word came flies, and mosquitoes throughout the country.	31 dio una orden y vinieron los insectos, los mosquitos invadieron el país.
32 He gave them hail as their rain, flames of fire in their land;	32 Les mandó granizo en vez de lluvia, y cayeron llamaradas en su tierra;
33 he blasted their vine and their fig tree, and shattered the trees of the country.	33 abatió sus higueras y viñedos, y destrozó los árboles en sus campos;
34 At his word came locusts, hoppers beyond al counting;	34 dio una orden, y vinieron langostas y pulgones en número incontable
35 they devoured every green thing in the land, devoured al the produce of the soil.	35 que comieron toda la hierba del campo y devoraron los frutos de la tierra.
36 He struck al the first-born in their land, the flower of all their manhood;	36 Hirió de muerte a los primogénitos del aquel país, a las primicias de todo ser viviente;
37 he led Israel out with silver and gold; in their tribes there was none who stumbled.	37 sacó a su pueblo cargado de oro y plata, y nadie desfalleció entre sus tribus:
38 Egypt was glad at their leaving, for terror of Israel had seized them.	38 los egipcios se alegraron de su partida, porque los había dominado el terror.
39 He spread out a cloud to cover them, and fire to light up the night.	39 Tendió una nube para que los cubriera, y envió un fuego para alumbrarlos de noche;
40 They asked and he brought them quails, food from heaven to their hearts' content;	40 pidieron de comer y les mandó codornices, los sació con pan del cielo;
41 he opened a rock, the waters gushed out, and flowed in dry ground as a river.	41 abrió la roca, brotaron las aguas y corrieron como un río por el desierto.
42 Faithful to his sacred promise, given to his servant Abraham,	42 El se acordó de la palabra sagrada, que había dado a Abraham, su servidor,
43 he led out his people with rejoicing, his chosen ones with shouts of joy.	43 e hizo salir a su pueblo con alegría, a sus elegidos, entre cantos de triunfo;
44 He gave them the territories of nations, they reaped the fruit of other people's labours,	44 les dio las tierras de los paganos, y ellos heredaron las riquezas de los pueblos,
45 on condition that they kept his statutes, and remained obedient to his laws.	45 a fin de observar sus mandamientos y cumplir fielmente sus leyes. ¡Aleluya!
