VULGATASAGRADA BIBLIA
Et respondens Jesus, dixit iterum in parabolis eis, dicens :1 Jesus tornou a falar-lhes por meio de parábolas:
Simile factum est regnum cælorum homini regi, qui fecit nuptias filio suo.2 The kingdom of the heavens has become like a king who made a wedding feast for his son,
Et misit servos suos vocare invitatos ad nuptias, et nolebant venire.3 and sent his bondmen to call the persons invited to the wedding feast, and they would not come.
Iterum misit alios servos, dicens : Dicite invitatis : Ecce prandium meum paravi, tauri mei et altilia occisa sunt, et omnia parata : venite ad nuptias.4 Again he sent other bondmen, saying, Say to the persons invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fatted beasts are killed, and all things ready; come to the wedding feast.
Illi autem neglexerunt : et abierunt, alius in villam suam, alius vero ad negotiationem suam :5 But they made light of it, and went, one to his own land, and another to his commerce.
reliqui vero tenuerunt servos ejus, et contumeliis affectos occiderunt.6 And the rest, laying hold of his bondmen, ill-treated and slew {them}.
Rex autem cum audisset, iratus est : et missis exercitibus suis, perdidit homicidas illos, et civitatem illorum succendit.7 And {when} the king {heard of it he} was wroth, and having sent his forces, destroyed those murderers and burned their city.
Tunc ait servis suis : Nuptiæ quidem paratæ sunt, sed qui invitati erant, non fuerunt digni :8 Then he says to his bondmen, The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy;
ite ergo ad exitus viarum, et quoscumque inveneritis, vocate ad nuptias.9 go therefore into the thoroughfares of the highways, and as many as ye shall find invite to the wedding feast.
Et egressi servi ejus in vias, congregaverunt omnes quos invenerunt, malos et bonos : et impletæ sunt nuptiæ discumbentium.10 And those bondmen went out into the highways, and brought together all as many as they found, both evil and good; and the wedding feast was furnished with guests.
Intravit autem rex ut videret discumbentes, et vidit ibi hominem non vestitum veste nuptiali.11 And the king, having gone in to see the guests, beheld there a man not clothed with a wedding garment.
At ille obmutuit.12 And he says to him, {My} friend, how camest thou in here not having on a wedding garment? But he was speechless.
Tunc dicit rex ministris : Ligatis manibus et pedibus ejus, mittite eum in tenebras exteriores : ibi erit fletus et stridor dentium.13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him feet and hands, and take him away, and cast him out into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
Multi enim sunt vocati, pauci vero electi.
For many are called ones, but few chosen ones.
Tunc abeuntes pharisæi, consilium inierunt ut caperent eum in sermone.15 And they send out to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that thou art true and teachest the way of God in truth, and carest not for any one, for thou regardest not men?s person;
Et mittunt ei discipulos suos cum Herodianis, dicentes : Magister, scimus quia verax es, et viam Dei in veritate doces, et non est tibi cura de aliquo : non enim respicis personam hominum :16 tell us therefore what thou thinkest: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?
dic ergo nobis quid tibi videtur, licet censum dare Cæsari, an non ?17 But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said, Why tempt ye me, hypocrites?
Cognita autem Jesus nequitia eorum, ait : Quid me tentatis, hypocritæ ?18 Shew me the money of the tribute. And they presented to him a denarius.
ostendite mihi numisma census. At illi obtulerunt ei denarium.19 And he says to them, Whose {is} this image and superscription?
Et ait illis Jesus : Cujus est imago hæc, et superscriptio ?20 They say to him, Caesar?s. Then he says to them, Pay then what is Caesar?s to Caesar, and what is God?s to God.
And when they heard {him}, they wondered, and left him, and went away.
saying, Teacher, Moses said, If any one die, not having children, his brother shall marry his wife and shall raise up seed to his brother.
Now there were with us seven brethren; and the first having married died, and not having seed, left his wife to his brother.
dicentes : Magister, Moyses dixit : Si quis mortuus fuerit non habens filium, ut ducat frater ejus uxorem illius, et suscitet semen fratri suo.24 In like manner also the second and the third, unto the seven.
And last of all the woman also died.
Similiter secundus, et tertius usque ad septimum.26 In the resurrection therefore of which of the seven shall she be wife, for all had her?
Novissime autem omnium et mulier defuncta est.27 And Jesus answering said to them, Ye err, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God.
In resurrectione ergo cujus erit de septem uxor ? omnes enim habuerunt eam.28 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as angels of God in heaven.
Ego sum Deus Abraham, et Deus Isaac, et Deus Jacob ?
Et audientes turbæ, mirabantur in doctrina ejus.
In his duobus mandatis universa lex pendet, et prophetæ.
Que pensais vós de Cristo? De quem é filho? Responderam: De Davi!
Congregatis autem pharisæis, interrogavit eos Jesus,41 Como então, prosseguiu Jesus, Davi, falando sob inspiração do Espírito, chama-o Senhor, dizendo:
Dixit Dominus Domino meo : Sede a dextris meis, donec ponam inimicos tuos scabellum pedum tuorum ?44 Ninguém pôde responder-lhe nada.
