1 Il Signore parlò a Mosè, nel deserto del Sinai, nella tenda del convegno, il primo giorno del secondo mese, il secondo anno dell'uscita dal paese d'Egitto, e disse:	1 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the covenant, on the first day of the second month, in the year after their departure from Egypt, saying:
2 "Fate il censimento di tutta la comunità degli Israeliti, secondo le loro famiglie, secondo il casato dei loro padri, contando i nomi di tutti i maschi, testa per testa,	2 “Take a total of the entire assembly of the sons of Israel, by their families and houses, and the names of each one, of whomever is of the male sex,
3 dall'età di venti anni in su, quanti in Israele possono andare in guerra; tu e Aronne ne farete il censimento, schiera per schiera.	3 from twenty years and above, of all the able-bodied men out of Israel, and you shall number them by their companies, you and Aaron.
4 A voi si associerà un uomo per ciascuna tribù, un uomo che sia capo del casato dei suoi padri.	4 And there shall be with you the leaders of the tribes, as well as of the houses, in their kinships,
5 Questi sono i nomi degli uomini che vi assisteranno. Di Ruben: Elisur, figlio di Sedeur;	5 the names of whom are these: of Ruben, Elizur the son of Shedeur;
6 di Simeone: Selumiel, figlio di Surisaddai;	6 of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai;
7 di Giuda: Nacason, figlio di Amminadab;	7 of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab;
8 di Issacar: Netanaeel, figlio di Suar;	8 of Issachar, Nathanael the son of Zuar;
9 di Zàbulon: Eliab, figlio di Chelon;	9 of Zebulon, Eliab the son of Helon.
10 dei figli di Giuseppe, per Efraim: Elisama, figlio di Ammiud; per Manasse: Gamliel, figlio di Pedasur;	10 And from the sons of Joseph: of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur;
11 di Beniamino: Abidan, figlio di Ghideoni;	11 of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni;
12 di Dan: Achiezer, figlio di Ammisaddai;	12 of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai;
13 di Aser: Paghiel, figlio di Ocran;	13 of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ochran;
14 di Gad: Eliasaf, figlio di Deuel;	14 of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Reuel;
15 di Nèftali: Achira, figlio di Enan".	15 of Naphtali, Ahira the son of Enan.”
16 Questi furono i prescelti della comunità, erano i capi delle loro tribù paterne, i capi delle migliaia d'Israele.	16 These are the very noble leaders of the multitude, by their tribes and kinships, and the heads of the army of Israel.
17 Mosè e Aronne presero questi uomini che erano stati designati per nome	17 Moses and Aaron took these, with all the multitude of the common people,
18 e convocarono tutta la comunità, il primo giorno del secondo mese; furono registrati secondo le famiglie, secondo i loro casati paterni, contando il numero delle persone dai venti anni in su, uno per uno.	18 and they gathered them together on the first day of the second month, taking a census of them by kinships, and houses, and families, and heads, and the names of each one from twenty years and above,
19 Come il Signore gli aveva ordinato, Mosè ne fece il censimento nel deserto del Sinai.	19 just as the Lord had instructed Moses. And they were numbered in the desert of Sinai.
20 Figli di Ruben, primogenito d'Israele, loro discendenti secondo le loro famiglie, secondo i loro casati paterni, contando i nomi di tutti i maschi, uno per uno, dall'età di vent'anni in su, quanti potevano andare in guerra:	20 Of Ruben, the firstborn of Israel, by their generations and families and houses, and the names of each head, of all who were of the male sex, from twenty years and above, capable of going to war,
21 i registrati della tribù di Ruben risultarono quarantaseimilacinquecento.	21 there were forty-six thousand five hundred.
22 Figli di Simeone, loro discendenti secondo le loro famiglie, secondo i loro casati paterni, contando i nomi di tutti i maschi, uno per uno, dall'età di vent'anni in su, quanti potevano andare in guerra:	22 Of the sons of Simeon, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names and heads of each one, of all who were of the male sex, from twenty years and above, capable of going to war,
23 i registrati della tribù di Simeone risultarono cinquantanovemilatrecento.	23 there were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.
24 Figli di Gad, loro discendenti secondo le loro famiglie, secondo i loro casati paterni, contando i nomi di quelli dall'età di vent'anni in su, quanti potevano andare in guerra:	24 Of the sons of Gad, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who could go forth to war,
25 i registrati della tribù di Gad risultarono quarantacinquemilaseicentocinquanta.	25 there were forty-five thousand six hundred fifty.
26 Figli di Giuda, loro discendenti secondo le loro famiglie, secondo i loro casati paterni, contando i nomi di quelli dall'età di vent'anni in su, quanti potevano andare in guerra:	26 Of the sons of Judah, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
27 i registrati della tribù di Giuda risultarono settantaquattromilaseicento.	27 there were counted seventy-four thousand six hundred.
28 Figli di Issacar, loro discendenti secondo le loro famiglie, secondo i loro casati paterni, contando i nomi di quelli dall'età di vent'anni in su, quanti potevano andare in guerra:	28 Of the sons of Issachar, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who could go forth to war,
29 i registrati della tribù di Issacar risultarono cinquantaquattromilaquattrocento.	29 there were counted fifty-four thousand four hundred.
30 Figli di Zàbulon, loro discendenti secondo le loro famiglie, secondo i loro casati paterni, contando i nomi di quelli dall'età di vent'anni in su, quanti potevano andare in guerra:	30 Of the sons of Zebulon, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
31 i registrati della tribù di Zàbulon risultarono cinquantasettemilaquattrocento.	31 there were fifty-seven thousand four hundred.
32 Figli di Giuseppe: figli di Efraim, loro discendenti secondo le loro famiglie, secondo i loro casati paterni, contando i nomi di quelli dall'età di vent'anni in su, quanti potevano andare in guerra:	32 From the sons of Joseph, of the sons of Ephraim, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
33 i registrati della tribù di Efraim risultarono quarantamilacinquecento.	33 there were forty thousand five hundred.
34 Figli di Manasse, loro discendenti secondo le loro famiglie, secondo i loro casati paterni, contando i nomi di quelli dall'età di vent'anni in su, quanti potevano andare in guerra:	34 Furthermore, of the sons of Manasseh, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
35 della tribù di Manasse i registrati risultarono trentaduemiladuecento.	35 there were thirty-two thousand two hundred.
36 Figli di Beniamino, loro discendenti secondo le loro famiglie, secondo i loro casati paterni, contando i nomi di quelli dall'età di vent'anni in su, quanti potevano andare in guerra:	36 Of the sons of Benjamin, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
37 i registrati della tribù di Beniamino risultarono trentacinquemilaquattrocento.	37 there were thirty-five thousand four hundred.
38 Figli di Dan, loro discendenti secondo le loro famiglie, secondo i loro casati paterni, contando i nomi di quelli dall'età di vent'anni in su, quanti potevano andare in guerra:	38 Of the sons of Dan, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
39 i registrati della tribù di Dan risultarono sessantaduemilasettecento.	39 there were sixty-two thousand seven hundred.
40 Figli di Aser, loro discendenti secondo le loro famiglie, secondo i loro casati paterni, contando i nomi di quelli dall'età di vent'anni in su, quanti potevano andare in guerra:	40 Of the sons of Asher, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
41 i registrati della tribù di Aser risultarono quarantunmilacinquecento.	41 there were forty thousand and one thousand five hundred.
42 Figli di Nèftali, loro discendenti secondo le loro famiglie, secondo i loro casati paterni, contando i nomi di quelli dall'età di vent'anni in su, quanti potevano andare in guerra:	42 Of the sons of Naphtali, by their generations and families, and the houses of their kinships, having been counted by the names of each one, from twenty years and above, of all who were able to go forth to war,
43 i registrati della tribù di Nèftali risultarono cinquantatremilaquattrocento.	43 there were fifty-three thousand four hundred.
44 Di quelli Mosè e Aronne fecero il censimento, con i dodici uomini capi d'Israele: ce n'era uno per ciascuno dei loro casati paterni.	44 These are the ones who were numbered by Moses and Aaron and the twelve leaders of Israel, each one by the houses of their kinships.
45 Tutti gli Israeliti dei quali fu fatto il censimento secondo i loro casati paterni, dall'età di vent'anni in su, cioè tutti gli uomini che in Israele potevano andare in guerra,	45 And the entire number of the sons of Israel by their houses and families, from twenty years and above, who were able to go forth to war, were
46 quanti furono registrati risultarono seicentotremilacinquecentocinquanta.	46 six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty men.
47 Ma quanti erano leviti, secondo la loro tribù paterna, non furono registrati insieme con gli altri.	47 But the Levites in the tribes of their families were not numbered with them.
48 Il Signore disse a Mosè:	48 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
49 "Della tribù di Levi non farai il censimento e non unirai la somma a quella degli Israeliti;	49 “Do not number the tribe of Levi, neither shall you take a total of them with the sons of Israel.
50 ma incarica tu stesso i leviti del servizio della Dimora della testimonianza, di tutti i suoi accessori e di quanto le appartiene. Essi porteranno la Dimora e tutti i suoi accessori, vi presteranno servizio e staranno accampati attorno alla Dimora.	50 But appoint them over the tabernacle of the testimony, and all its vessels, and whatever pertains to the ceremonies. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its articles. And they shall be for the ministry, and they shall encamp all around the tabernacle.
51 Quando la Dimora dovrà partire, i leviti la smonteranno; quando la Dimora dovrà accamparsi in qualche luogo, i leviti la erigeranno; ogni estraneo che si avvicinerà sarà messo a morte.	51 When you would depart, the Levites shall take down the tabernacle. When you are to make camp, they shall set it up. Any outsider who will approach it shall be killed.
52 Gli Israeliti pianteranno le tende ognuno nel suo campo, ognuno vicino alla sua insegna, secondo le loro schiere.	52 Now the sons of Israel shall make camp, each one by his companies and bands, as well as his army.
53 Ma i leviti pianteranno le tende attorno alla Dimora della testimonianza; così la mia ira non si accenderà contro la comunità degli Israeliti. I leviti avranno la cura della Dimora".	53 Moreover, the Levites shall fix their tents all around the tabernacle, lest there be an indignation over the multitude of the sons of Israel. And they shall stand watch as guardians over the tabernacle of the testimony.”
54 Gli Israeliti si conformarono in tutto agli ordini che il Signore aveva dato a Mosè e così fecero.	54 Therefore, the sons of Israel acted according to everything that the Lord had instructed Moses.
