Geremia 22

BIBBIA CEI 1974	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Così dice il Signore: "Scendi nella casa del re di Giuda e là proclama questo messaggio.	1 Yahweh said this, 'Go down to the palace of the king of Judah and there say this word,
2 Tu dirai: Ascolta la parola del Signore, o re di Giuda che siedi sul trono di Davide, tu, i tuoi ministri e il tuo popolo, che entrano per queste porte.	2 "Listen to the word of Yahweh, king of Judah now occupying the throne of David, you, your officials andyour people who go through these gates.
3 Dice il Signore: Praticate il diritto e la giustizia, liberate l'oppresso dalle mani dell'oppressore, non fate violenza e non opprimete il forestiero, l'orfano e la vedova, e non spargete sangue innocente in questo luogo.	3 Yahweh says this: Act uprightly and justly; rescue from the hands of the oppressor anyone who hasbeen wronged, do not exploit or il -treat the stranger, the orphan, the widow; shed no innocent blood in thisplace.
4 Se osserverete lealmente quest'ordine, entreranno ancora per le porte di questa casa i re che siederanno sul trono di Davide, montati su carri e cavalli, essi, i loro ministri e il loro popolo.	4 For if you are scrupulous in obeying this command, then kings occupying the throne of David willcontinue to make their entry through the gates of this palace riding in chariots or on horseback, they, theirofficials and their people.
5 Ma se non ascolterete queste parole, io lo giuro per me stesso - parola del Signore - questa casa diventerà una rovina.	5 But if you do not listen to these words, then I swear by myself, Yahweh declares, this palace shalbecome a ruin!
6 Poiché così dice il Signore riguardo alla casa del re di Giuda: Come Gàlaad eri per me, come le vette del Libano; ma io ti ridurrò a deserto, a città disabitata.	6 "Yes, this is what Yahweh says about the palace of the king of Judah: You are like Gilead to me, like apeak of Lebanon. Al the same, I wil reduce you to a desert, to uninhabited towns.
7 Io preparerò contro di te i distruttori, ognuno con le armi. Essi abbatteranno i migliori dei tuoi cedri, li getteranno nel fuoco.	7 I dedicate men to destroy you, each man with his weapons; they will cut down your finest cedars andthrow them on the fire.
8 Molte genti passeranno su questa città e si diranno l'un l'altro: Perché il Signore ha trattato così questa grande città?	8 "And when many nations pass this city, they wil say to one another: Why has Yahweh treated thisgreat city like this?
9 E risponderanno: Perché essi hanno abbandonato l'alleanza del Signore, loro Dio, hanno adorato altri dèi e li hanno serviti".	9 And the answer wil be: Because they abandoned the covenant of Yahweh their God to worship othergods and serve them." '
10 Non piangete sul morto e non fate lamenti per lui, ma piangete amaramente su chi parte, perché non tornerà più, non rivedrà il paese natio.	10 Do not weep for the man who is dead, do not raise the dirge for him. Weep rather for the one who hasgone away, since he wil never come back, never see his native land again.
11 Poiché dice il Signore riguardo a Sallùm figlio di Giosia, re di Giuda, che regna al posto di Giosia suo padre: "Chi esce da questo luogo non vi farà più ritorno,	11 For this is what Yahweh has said about Shallum son of Josiah, king of Judah, who succeeded Josiahhis father and was forced to leave this place, 'He wil never come back to it
12 ma morirà nel luogo dove lo condurranno prigioniero e non rivedrà più questo paese".	12 but wil die in the place to which he has been taken captive; and he wil never see this country again.
13 Guai a chi costruisce la casa senza giustizia e il piano di sopra senza equità, che fa lavorare il suo prossimo per nulla, senza dargli la paga,	13 'Disaster for the man who builds his house without uprightness, his upstairs rooms without fairjudgement, who makes his fel ow-man work for nothing, without paying him his wages,
14 e dice: "Mi costruirò una casa grande con spazioso piano di sopra" e vi apre finestre e la riveste di tavolati di cedro e la dipinge di rosso.	14 who says, "I shal build myself a spacious palace with airy upstairs rooms," who makes windows in it,panels it with cedar, and paints it vermilion.
15 Forse tu agisci da re perché ostenti passione per il cedro? Forse tuo padre non mangiava e beveva? Ma egli praticava il diritto e la giustizia e tutto andava bene.	15 Are you more of a king because of your passion for cedar? Did your father go hungry or thirsty? Buthe did what is just and upright, so al went wel for him.
16 Egli tutelava la causa del povero e del misero e tutto andava bene; questo non significa infatti conoscermi? Oracolo del Signore.	16 He used to examine the cases of poor and needy, then al went wel . Is not that what it means to knowme? Yahweh demands.
17 I tuoi occhi e il tuo cuore, invece, non badano che al tuo interesse, a spargere sangue innocente, a commettere violenza e angherie.	17 You on the other hand have eyes and heart for nothing but your own interests, for shedding innocentblood and perpetrating violence and oppression.'
18 Per questo così dice il Signore su Ioiakìm figlio di Giosia, re di Giuda: "Non faranno il lamento per lui, dicendo: Ahi, fratello mio! Ahi, sorella! Non faranno il lamento per lui, dicendo: Ahi, signore! Ahi, maestà!	18 That is why Yahweh says this about Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah: 'No lamenting for him,"My poor brother! My poor sister!" No lamenting for him, "His poor lordship! His poor majesty!"
19 Sarà sepolto come si seppellisce un asino, lo trascineranno e lo getteranno al di là delle porte di Gerusalemme".	19 He wil have a donkey's funeral -- dragged away and thrown out of the gates of Jerusalem.'
20 Sali sul Libano e grida e sul Basàn alza la voce; grida dagli Abarìm, perché tutti i tuoi amanti sono abbattuti.	20 'Climb the Lebanon range and shriek, raise your voice in Bashan, shriek from the Abarim, for al yourlovers have been ruined!
21 Ti parlai al tempo della tua tranquilla prosperità, ma tu dicesti: "Io non voglio ascoltare". Tale è stata la tua condotta fin dalla giovinezza: non hai ascoltato la mia voce.	21 I spoke to you in your prosperity, but you said, "I wil not listen!" From your youth this has been howyou behaved, refusing to listen to my voice.
22 Tutti i tuoi pastori saranno pascolo del vento e i tuoi amanti andranno schiavi. Allora ti dovrai vergognare ed essere confusa, a causa di tutte le tue iniquità.	22 The wind will shepherd al your shepherds away and your lovers wil go into captivity. Then you wilblush deep with shame at the thought of al your wickedness.
23 Tu che dimori sul Libano, che ti sei fatta il nido tra i cedri, come gemerai quando ti coglieranno le doglie, dolori come di partoriente!	23 You who have made the Lebanon your home and made your nest among the cedars, how you wilgroan when anguish overtakes you, pangs like those of a woman in labour!
24 "Per la mia vita - oracolo del Signore - anche se Conìa figlio di Ioiakìm, re di Giuda, fosse un anello da sigillo nella mia destra, io me lo strapperei.	24 'As I live, Yahweh declares, even if Coniah son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, were the signet ring onmy right hand, I would stil wrench you off!
25 Ti metterò nelle mani di chi attenta alla tua vita, nelle mani di coloro che tu temi, nelle mani di Nabucodònosor re di Babilonia e nelle mani dei Caldei.	25 I shal hand you over to those determined to kill you, to those you dread, to Nebuchadnezzar king ofBabylon, to the Chaldaeans.
26 Sbalzerò te e tua madre che ti ha generato in un paese dove non siete nati e là morirete.	26 I shal hurl you and the mother who bore you into another country; you were not born there but youwil both die there.
27 Ma nel paese in cui brameranno tornare, là non torneranno.	27 They wil not return to the country to which they desperately long to return.'
28 È forse questo Conìa un vaso spregevole, rotto, oppure un vaso che non piace più a nessuno? Perché sono dunque scacciati, egli e la sua discendenza, e gettati in un paese che non conoscono?".	28 Is he a shoddy broken pot, this man Coniah, a crock that no one wants? Why are he and his offspringejected, hurled into a country they know nothing of?
29 Terra, terra, terra! Ascolta la parola del Signore!	29 O land, land, land, listen to the word of Yahweh!
30 Dice il Signore: "Registrate quest'uomo come uno senza figli, un uomo che non ha successo nella sua vita, perché nessuno della sua stirpe avrà la fortuna di sedere sul trono di Davide né di regnare ancora su Giuda".	30 Yahweh says this, 'List this man as: Childless; a man who made a failure of his life, since none of hisoffspring wil succeed in occupying the throne of David, or ruling in Judah again.'
