NEW JERUSALEMNOVA VULGATA
1 In you, Yahweh, I take refuge, I shal never be put to shame.1 In te, Domine, speravi,
non confundar in aeternum.
2 In your saving justice rescue me, deliver me, listen to me and save me.2 In iustitia tua libera me et eripe me;
inclina ad me aurem tuam et salva me.
3 Be a sheltering rock for me, always accessible; you have determined to save me, for you are my rock,my fortress.3 Esto mihi in rupem praesidii
et in domum munitam, ut salvum me facias,
quoniam fortitudo mea et refugium meum es tu.
4 My God, rescue me from the clutches of the wicked, from the grasp of the rogue and the ruthless.4 Deus meus, eripe me de manu peccatoris
et de manu contra legem agentis et iniqui.
5 For you are my hope, Lord, my trust, Yahweh, since boyhood.5 Quoniam tu es exspectatio mea, Domine;
Domine, spes mea a iuventute mea.
6 On you I have relied since my birth, since my mother's womb you have been my portion, the constanttheme of my praise.6 Super te innixus sum ex utero,
de ventre matris meae tu es susceptor meus;
in te laus mea semper.
7 Many were bewildered at me, but you are my sure refuge.7 Tamquam prodigium factus sum multis,
et tu adiutor fortis. -
8 My mouth is full of your praises, fil ed with your splendour all day long.8 Repleatur os meum laude tua,
tota die magnitudine tua.
9 Do not reject me in my old age, nor desert me when my strength is failing,9 Ne proicias me in tempore senectutis;
cum defecerit virtus mea, ne derelinquas me.
10 for my enemies are discussing me, those with designs on my life are plotting together.10 Quia dixerunt inimici mei mihi,
et, qui observabant animam meam,
consilium fecerunt in unum
11 'Hound him down, for God has deserted him! Seize him, there is no one to rescue him.'11 dicentes: “ Deus dereliquit eum!
Persequimini et comprehendite
eum,
quia non est qui eripiat ”.
12 God, do not stand aloof, my God, come quickly to help me.12 Deus, ne elongeris a me;
Deus meus, in auxilium meum festina.
13 Shame and ruin on those who slander me, may those intent on harming me be covered with insultand infamy.13 Confundantur et deficiant adversantes animae meae;
operiantur confusione et pudore, qui quaerunt mala mihi.
14 As for me, my hope wil never fade, I wil praise you more and more.14 Ego autem semper sperabo
et adiciam super omnem laudem tuam.
15 My lips shal proclaim your saving justice, your saving power all day long.15 Os meum annuntiabit iustitiam tuam,
tota die salutare tuum:
quae dinumerare nescivi.
16 I wil come in the power of Yahweh to tel of your justice, yours alone.16 Veniam ad potentias Domini;
Domine, memorabor iustitiae tuae solius.
17 God, you have taught me from boyhood, and I am still proclaiming your marvels.17 Deus, docuisti me a iuventute mea;
et usque nunc annuntiabo mirabilia tua.
18 Now that I am old and grey-haired, God, do not desert me, til I have proclaimed your strength togenerations still to come, your power18 Et usque in senectam et senium,
Deus, ne derelinquas me,
donec annuntiem brachium tuum
generationi omni, quae ventura est.
Potentia tua
19 and justice to the skies. You have done great things, God, who is like you?19 et iustitia tua, Deus,
usque in altissima, qui fecisti magnalia:
Deus, quis similis tibi?
20 You have shown me much misery and hardship, but you will give me life again, You will raise me upagain from the depths of the earth,20 Quantas ostendisti mihi tribulationes multas et malas;
iterum vivificasti me
et de abyssis terrae iterum reduxisti me.
21 prolong my old age, and comfort me again.21 Multiplicabis magnitudinem meam et conversus consolaberis me.
22 For my part, I will thank you on the lyre for your constancy, my God. I wil play the harp in yourhonour, Holy One of Israel.22 Nam et ego confitebor tibi
in psalterio veritatem tuam, Deus meus;
psallam tibi in cithara, Sanctus Israel.
23 My lips sing for joy as I play to you, because you have redeemed me,23 Exsultabunt labia mea, cum cantavero tibi,
et anima mea, quam redemisti;
24 and al day long my tongue muses on your saving justice. Shame and disgrace on those intent toharm me!24 sed et lingua mea tota die meditabitur iustitiam tuam,
cum confusi et reveriti fuerint, qui quaerunt mala mihi.
