¹ In you, Yahweh, I take refuge, I shal never be put to shame.	¹ In te mi rifugio, o Signore, ch'io non sia confuso in eterno!
² In your saving justice rescue me, deliver me, listen to me and save me.	² Scampami nella tua giustizia e liberami, tendi verso di me il tuo orecchio e salvami.
³ Be a sheltering rock for me, always accessible; you have determined to save me, for you are my rock,my fortress.	³ Sii per me una rocca di scampo, rifugio inaccessibile per la mia salvezza. Sì, mia rupe e mia rocca tu sei!
⁴ My God, rescue me from the clutches of the wicked, from the grasp of the rogue and the ruthless.	⁴ Mio Dio, salvami dalla mano dell'empio, dal potere del nemico e dell'oppressore.
⁵ For you are my hope, Lord, my trust, Yahweh, since boyhood.	⁵ Poiché tu sei, o Signore, la mia speranza, la mia fiducia, o Signore, sin dalla mia giovinezza.
⁶ On you I have relied since my birth, since my mother's womb you have been my portion, the constanttheme of my praise.	⁶ Su di te mi sono appoggiato fin dal grembo materno; dal seno di mia madre tu sei stato il mio sostegno; per te continua è stata la mia lode.
⁷ Many were bewildered at me, but you are my sure refuge.	⁷ Quale spettacolo io sono apparso a molti, ma tu sei il mio rifugio sicuro.
⁸ My mouth is full of your praises, fil ed with your splendour all day long.	⁸ Si riempie la mia bocca della tua lode, tutto il giorno, della tua gloria.
⁹ Do not reject me in my old age, nor desert me when my strength is failing,	⁹ Non mi respingere nel tempo della vecchiaia, quando vien meno il mio vigore non mi abbandonare.
¹⁰ for my enemies are discussing me, those with designs on my life are plotting together.	¹⁰ Infatti hanno detto di me i miei nemici, quelli che mi spiano hanno concluso insieme:
¹¹ 'Hound him down, for God has deserted him! Seize him, there is no one to rescue him.'	¹¹ "Dio l'ha abbandonato; perseguitatelo, prendetelo, poiché non vi sarà chi lo liberi".
¹² God, do not stand aloof, my God, come quickly to help me.	¹² O Dio, non ti allontanare da me; mio Dio, affréttati in mio soccorso.
¹³ Shame and ruin on those who slander me, may those intent on harming me be covered with insultand infamy.	¹³ Siano confusi, annientati quelli che accusano l'anima mia. Siano coperti di obbrobrio e d'ignominia quelli che cercano la mia sventura.
¹⁴ As for me, my hope wil never fade, I wil praise you more and more.	¹⁴ Ma io continuerò a sperare, intensificando in ogni maniera la mia lode per te.
¹⁵ My lips shal proclaim your saving justice, your saving power all day long.	¹⁵ La mia bocca narrerà la tua giustizia, tutto il giorno, la tua salvezza, anche se incalcolabile per me.
¹⁶ I wil come in the power of Yahweh to tel of your justice, yours alone.	¹⁶ Verrò con le magnificenze del Signore; o Signore, farò memoria della tua giustizia, di quella sola.
¹⁷ God, you have taught me from boyhood, and I am still proclaiming your marvels.	¹⁷ O Dio, tu mi hai reso saggio fin dalla mia giovinezza e sino ad ora annunzio le tue meraviglie.
¹⁸ Now that I am old and grey-haired, God, do not desert me, til I have proclaimed your strength togenerations still to come, your power	¹⁸ Ora, nella canuta vecchiaia, o Dio, non mi abbandonare, fino a che io annunzi la potenza del tuo braccio ad ogni generazione che verrà,
¹⁹ and justice to the skies. You have done great things, God, who is like you?	¹⁹ e la tua giustizia, o Dio, fino alle stelle. Per le grandi cose che hai fatto chi è come te, o Dio?
²⁰ You have shown me much misery and hardship, but you will give me life again, You will raise me upagain from the depths of the earth,	²⁰ Poiché molte sventure angosciose mi hai fatto sperimentare, di nuovo mi darai vita e dagli abissi della terra di nuovo mi farai risalire.
²¹ prolong my old age, and comfort me again.	²¹ Rendi più grande la tua magnificenza e di nuovo confortami.
²² For my part, I will thank you on the lyre for your constancy, my God. I wil play the harp in yourhonour, Holy One of Israel.	²² E io ti renderò grazie con l'arpa, per la tua fedeltà, o Dio, canterò a te sulla cetra, o Santo d'Israele.
²³ My lips sing for joy as I play to you, because you have redeemed me,	²³ Grideranno di gioia le mie labbra cantando a te con la mia anima da te riscattata.
²⁴ and al day long my tongue muses on your saving justice. Shame and disgrace on those intent toharm me!	²⁴ Anche la mia lingua ogni giorno mormorerà la tua giustizia, quando saranno confusi e umiliati quelli che cercano la mia sventura.
