Psalms 71

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 In you, Yahweh, I take refuge, I shal never be put to shame.	1 In te mi rifugio, o Signore, ch'io non sia confuso in eterno!
2 In your saving justice rescue me, deliver me, listen to me and save me.	2 Scampami nella tua giustizia e liberami, tendi verso di me il tuo orecchio e salvami.
3 Be a sheltering rock for me, always accessible; you have determined to save me, for you are my rock,my fortress.	3 Sii per me una rocca di scampo, rifugio inaccessibile per la mia salvezza. Sì, mia rupe e mia rocca tu sei!
4 My God, rescue me from the clutches of the wicked, from the grasp of the rogue and the ruthless.	4 Mio Dio, salvami dalla mano dell'empio, dal potere del nemico e dell'oppressore.
5 For you are my hope, Lord, my trust, Yahweh, since boyhood.	5 Poiché tu sei, o Signore, la mia speranza, la mia fiducia, o Signore, sin dalla mia giovinezza.
6 On you I have relied since my birth, since my mother's womb you have been my portion, the constanttheme of my praise.	6 Su di te mi sono appoggiato fin dal grembo materno; dal seno di mia madre tu sei stato il mio sostegno; per te continua è stata la mia lode.
7 Many were bewildered at me, but you are my sure refuge.	7 Quale spettacolo io sono apparso a molti, ma tu sei il mio rifugio sicuro.
8 My mouth is full of your praises, fil ed with your splendour all day long.	8 Si riempie la mia bocca della tua lode, tutto il giorno, della tua gloria.
9 Do not reject me in my old age, nor desert me when my strength is failing,	9 Non mi respingere nel tempo della vecchiaia, quando vien meno il mio vigore non mi abbandonare.
10 for my enemies are discussing me, those with designs on my life are plotting together.	10 Infatti hanno detto di me i miei nemici, quelli che mi spiano hanno concluso insieme:
11 'Hound him down, for God has deserted him! Seize him, there is no one to rescue him.'	11 "Dio l'ha abbandonato; perseguitatelo, prendetelo, poiché non vi sarà chi lo liberi".
12 God, do not stand aloof, my God, come quickly to help me.	12 O Dio, non ti allontanare da me; mio Dio, affréttati in mio soccorso.
13 Shame and ruin on those who slander me, may those intent on harming me be covered with insultand infamy.	13 Siano confusi, annientati quelli che accusano l'anima mia. Siano coperti di obbrobrio e d'ignominia quelli che cercano la mia sventura.
14 As for me, my hope wil never fade, I wil praise you more and more.	14 Ma io continuerò a sperare, intensificando in ogni maniera la mia lode per te.
15 My lips shal proclaim your saving justice, your saving power all day long.	15 La mia bocca narrerà la tua giustizia, tutto il giorno, la tua salvezza, anche se incalcolabile per me.
16 I wil come in the power of Yahweh to tel of your justice, yours alone.	16 Verrò con le magnificenze del Signore; o Signore, farò memoria della tua giustizia, di quella sola.
17 God, you have taught me from boyhood, and I am still proclaiming your marvels.	17 O Dio, tu mi hai reso saggio fin dalla mia giovinezza e sino ad ora annunzio le tue meraviglie.
18 Now that I am old and grey-haired, God, do not desert me, til I have proclaimed your strength togenerations still to come, your power	18 Ora, nella canuta vecchiaia, o Dio, non mi abbandonare, fino a che io annunzi la potenza del tuo braccio ad ogni generazione che verrà,
19 and justice to the skies. You have done great things, God, who is like you?	19 e la tua giustizia, o Dio, fino alle stelle. Per le grandi cose che hai fatto chi è come te, o Dio?
20 You have shown me much misery and hardship, but you will give me life again, You will raise me upagain from the depths of the earth,	20 Poiché molte sventure angosciose mi hai fatto sperimentare, di nuovo mi darai vita e dagli abissi della terra di nuovo mi farai risalire.
21 prolong my old age, and comfort me again.	21 Rendi più grande la tua magnificenza e di nuovo confortami.
22 For my part, I will thank you on the lyre for your constancy, my God. I wil play the harp in yourhonour, Holy One of Israel.	22 E io ti renderò grazie con l'arpa, per la tua fedeltà, o Dio, canterò a te sulla cetra, o Santo d'Israele.
23 My lips sing for joy as I play to you, because you have redeemed me,	23 Grideranno di gioia le mie labbra cantando a te con la mia anima da te riscattata.
24 and al day long my tongue muses on your saving justice. Shame and disgrace on those intent toharm me!	24 Anche la mia lingua ogni giorno mormorerà la tua giustizia, quando saranno confusi e umiliati quelli che cercano la mia sventura.
