1 In you, Yahweh, I take refuge, I shal never be put to shame.	1 Salmo sopra Salomone. Da, o Dio, la potestà di giudicare al re, e l'amministrazione di tua giustizia al figliuolo del re:
2 In your saving justice rescue me, deliver me, listen to me and save me.	2 Affinchè egli giudichi con giustizia il tuo popolo, e i tuoi poveri in equità.
3 Be a sheltering rock for me, always accessible; you have determined to save me, for you are my rock,my fortress.	3 Ricevano i monti la pace pel popolo, e i colli ricevano la giustizia.
4 My God, rescue me from the clutches of the wicked, from the grasp of the rogue and the ruthless.	4 Ei renderà giustizia ai poveri del popolo, e salverà i figliuoli de' poveri, e umilierà il calunniatore.
5 For you are my hope, Lord, my trust, Yahweh, since boyhood.	5 Ed ei sussisterà quanto il sole, e quanto la luna per tutte quante le generazioni.
6 On you I have relied since my birth, since my mother's womb you have been my portion, the constanttheme of my praise.	6 Egli scenderà come pioggia sul vello di lana, e come acqua, che cade a stille sopra la terra.
7 Many were bewildered at me, but you are my sure refuge.	7 Spunterà ne' giorni di lui giustizia, e abbondanza di pace, fino a tanto che non sia più la luna.
8 My mouth is full of your praises, fil ed with your splendour all day long.	8 Ed ei signoreggerà da un mare sino all'altro mare, e dal fiume sino alle estremità del mondo.
9 Do not reject me in my old age, nor desert me when my strength is failing,	9 Si getteranno a' suoi piedi gli Etiopi, e i nemici di lui baceranno la terra.
10 for my enemies are discussing me, those with designs on my life are plotting together.	10 I re di Tharsis, e le isole a lui faranno le loro offerte: i re degli Arabi, e di Saba porteranno i loro doni.
11 'Hound him down, for God has deserted him! Seize him, there is no one to rescue him.'	11 E lo adoreranno tutti i re della terra, e le genti tutte a lui saran serve:
12 God, do not stand aloof, my God, come quickly to help me.	12 Imperocché egli libererà il povero dal possente, e tal povero, che non aveva chi lo aiutasse.
13 Shame and ruin on those who slander me, may those intent on harming me be covered with insultand infamy.	13 Avrà pietà del povero, e del bisognoso, e le anime de' poveri farà salve.
14 As for me, my hope wil never fade, I wil praise you more and more.	14 Libererà le anime loro dalle usare, e dalla ingiustizia: e il nome loro sarà in onore dinanzi a lui.
15 My lips shal proclaim your saving justice, your saving power all day long.	15 Ed ei vivrà, e gli sarà dato dell'oro dell'Arabia, e sempre lo adoreranno, e tutto il dì lo benediranno.
16 I wil come in the power of Yahweh to tel of your justice, yours alone.	16 E nella terra il frumento sarà sulla cima delle montagne, e le sue spighe si alzeranno più, che i cedri del Libano, e moltiplicheranno gli uomini nella città, come l'erba ne' prati.
17 God, you have taught me from boyhood, and I am still proclaiming your marvels.	17 Sia benedetto pei secoli il di lui nome: il nome di lui fu prima che fosse il sole. E in lui riceverai benedizione tutte le tribù della terra: le genti tutte lo glorificheranno.
18 Now that I am old and grey-haired, God, do not desert me, til I have proclaimed your strength togenerations still to come, your power	18 Benedetto il Signore Dio d'Israele: egli solo fa cose ammirabili:
19 and justice to the skies. You have done great things, God, who is like you?	19 E benedetto il nome della maestà di lui in eterno: e la terra tutta sarà ripiena della sua maestà: così sia, cosi sia.
20 You have shown me much misery and hardship, but you will give me life again, You will raise me upagain from the depths of the earth,	20 Fine delle laudi di David figliuolo di Jesse.
21 prolong my old age, and comfort me again.
22 For my part, I will thank you on the lyre for your constancy, my God. I wil play the harp in yourhonour, Holy One of Israel.
23 My lips sing for joy as I play to you, because you have redeemed me,
24 and al day long my tongue muses on your saving justice. Shame and disgrace on those intent toharm me!
