Psalms 71

1 In you, Yahweh, I take refuge, I shal never be put to shame.	1 In te, o Jahvè, mi rifugio; non resti confuso in eterno!
2 In your saving justice rescue me, deliver me, listen to me and save me.	2 Nella tua giustizia liberami e scampami; porgi a me il tuo orecchio e salvami.
3 Be a sheltering rock for me, always accessible; you have determined to save me, for you are my rock,my fortress.	3 Sii a me rocca di rifugio e presidio per la salvezza, perché mia rocca e fortezza tu sei.
4 My God, rescue me from the clutches of the wicked, from the grasp of the rogue and the ruthless.	4 Dio mio, strappami dalle unghie del maligno e dal pugno dell’empio e crudele.
5 For you are my hope, Lord, my trust, Yahweh, since boyhood.	5 Perché tu sei la mia speranza, Signore o Jahvè, la mia fiducia fino dall’infanzia.
6 On you I have relied since my birth, since my mother's womb you have been my portion, the constanttheme of my praise.	6 In te mi appoggiai fino dal seno, fino dal grembo di mia madre sei tu che mi sollevi; in te è la mia lode continua.
7 Many were bewildered at me, but you are my sure refuge.	7 lo fui un segnale per molti; ma tu il mio rifugio sicuro.
8 My mouth is full of your praises, fil ed with your splendour all day long.	8 Sia piena la mia bocca della tua lode, ogni ora, della tua maestà.
9 Do not reject me in my old age, nor desert me when my strength is failing,	9 Non ripudiarmi nel tempo della vecchiaia; quando svaniscono le forze non lasciarmi.
10 for my enemies are discussing me, those with designs on my life are plotting together.	10 Perché hanno detto i miei nemici di me e coloro che insidiano la mia anima si consigliano insieme
11 'Hound him down, for God has deserted him! Seize him, there is no one to rescue him.'	11 dicendo: «Dio lo ha abbandonato: inseguitelo, pigliatelo, perché non ha chi lo scampi»
12 God, do not stand aloof, my God, come quickly to help me.	12 O Dio, non stare lontano da me; mio Dio, affrettati in mio aiuto!
13 Shame and ruin on those who slander me, may those intent on harming me be covered with insultand infamy.	13 Siano confusi e svergognati coloro che avversano la mia anima; si coprano di obbrobrio e di onta coloro che cercano la mia rovina.
14 As for me, my hope wil never fade, I wil praise you more and more.	14 Io intanto spero di continuo e mi dilungo in tutte le tue lodi.
15 My lips shal proclaim your saving justice, your saving power all day long.	15 La mia bocca narra la tua giustizia, senza fine la tua salvezza che è incalcolabile.
16 I wil come in the power of Yahweh to tel of your justice, yours alone.	16 Vengo con le tue gesta, Signore, ripenso le tue giustizie soltanto.
17 God, you have taught me from boyhood, and I am still proclaiming your marvels.	17 Dio, mi hai istruito fin dalla giovinezza, e fino a oggi annuncio le tue meraviglie
18 Now that I am old and grey-haired, God, do not desert me, til I have proclaimed your strength togenerations still to come, your power	18 E fino alla vecchiaia e alla canizie, o Dio, non lasciarmi. Finché posso celebrare il tuo braccio alla generazione, a tutti i posteri la tua forza,
19 and justice to the skies. You have done great things, God, who is like you?	19 e la tua giustizia fino alla decrepitezza. Tu che hai operato cose grandi, o Dio, chi ti uguaglia?
20 You have shown me much misery and hardship, but you will give me life again, You will raise me upagain from the depths of the earth,	20 Tu che mi hai fatto vedere molte e grame angustie, ancora mi ravvivi. E dagli abissi della terra ancora mi sollevi.
21 prolong my old age, and comfort me again.	21 Moltiplichi la mia grandezza e mi cingi e consoli.
22 For my part, I will thank you on the lyre for your constancy, my God. I wil play the harp in yourhonour, Holy One of Israel.	22 Così che io ti loderò con lo strumento dell’arpa, per la tua verità; o mio Dio. Inneggerò a te con la cetra, o Santo di Israele.
23 My lips sing for joy as I play to you, because you have redeemed me,	23 Esulteranno le mie labbra, infatti inneggerò a te e la mia anima, che tu hai salvato.
24 and al day long my tongue muses on your saving justice. Shame and disgrace on those intent toharm me!	24 Anche la mia lingua tutto il giorno si eserciterà nella tua giustizia. Poiché sono confusi, poiché sono svergognati coloro che vogliono la mia disgrazia.
