2 for you answer prayer. All humanity must come to you	2 Dir gebührt Lobpreis, o Gott, in Sion; dir erfüllt man Gelöbnisse.
3 with its sinful deeds. Our faults overwhelm us, but you blot them out.	3 Du erhörst die Gebete. Zu dir kommt alles Volk mit seiner Sündenlast.
4 How blessed those whom you choose and invite to dwell in your courts. We shal be filled with thegood things of your house, of your holy temple.	4 Sind unsere Vergehen zu schwer für uns, so vergibst du sie.
5 You respond to us with the marvels of your saving justice, God our Saviour, hope of the whole wideworld, even the distant islands.	5 Glücklich, wen du auserwählst und zu dir rufst, daß er in deinen Höfen wohne! Wir wollen uns am Segen deines Hauses laben, deines heiligen Tempels!
6 By your strength you hold the mountains steady, being clothed in power,	6 Mit furchtgebietenden Taten erhörst du uns voll Güte, Gott unseres Heiles, du Hoffnung aller Enden der Erde und der entlegensten Inseln!
7 you calm the turmoil of the seas, the turmoil of their waves. The nations are in uproar, in panic thosewho live at the ends of the earth;	7 Du hast die Berge hingestellt durch deine Kraft, mit Stärke dich umgürtet.
8 your miracles bring shouts of joy to the gateways of morning and evening.	8 Du stillst das Brausen der Meere, das Brausen ihrer Wogen und das Tosen der Völker.
9 You visit the earth and make it fruitful, you fill it with riches; the river of God brims over with water, youprovide the grain. To that end	9 Ehrfurcht erfüllt die Bewohner der äußersten Grenzen vor deinen Zeichen, Morgen- und Abendland bringst du zum Jubeln.
10 you water its furrows abundantly, level its ridges, soften it with showers and bless its shoots.	10 Du hast die Erde aufgesucht, sie überflutet und überreich getränkt. Mit Wasser ist gefüllt der Gottesbach. Ihr Korn bereitest du den Menschen. Ja, so bereitest du die Erde:
11 You crown the year with your generosity, richness seeps from your tracks,	11 Du bewässerst ihre Furchen, ebnest ihre Schollen, machst sie weich mit Regenschauern, segnest ihr Gewächs.
12 the pastures of the desert grow moist, the hillsides are wrapped in joy,	12 Du krönst das Jahr mit deiner guten Gabe, deine Pfade triefen von Üppigkeit.
13 the meadows are covered with flocks, the val eys clothed with wheat; they shout and sing for joy.	13 Es triefen die Auen der Steppe, mit Jubel die Höhen sich gürten.
	14 Die Anger sind mit Herden bekleidet, die Täler in Korn gehüllt. Sie jauchzen sich zu und singen.
