[For the choirmaster Psalm Of David Song] Praise is rightful y yours, God, in Zion. Vows to you shallbe fulfil ed, | 1 Du maître de chant. Psaume de David. Cantique. |
for you answer prayer. All humanity must come to you | 2 A toi la louange est due, ô Dieu, dans Sion; que pour toi le voeu soit acquitté: |
with its sinful deeds. Our faults overwhelm us, but you blot them out. | 3 tu écoutes la prière. Jusqu'à toi vient toute chair |
How blessed those whom you choose and invite to dwell in your courts. We shal be filled with thegood things of your house, of your holy temple. |
You respond to us with the marvels of your saving justice, God our Saviour, hope of the whole wideworld, even the distant islands. |
By your strength you hold the mountains steady, being clothed in power, | 6 Tu nous réponds en prodiges de justice, Dieu de notre salut, espoir des extrémités de la terre et desîles lointaines; |
you calm the turmoil of the seas, the turmoil of their waves. The nations are in uproar, in panic thosewho live at the ends of the earth; | 7 toi qui maintiens les montagnes par ta force, qui te ceins de puissance, |
your miracles bring shouts of joy to the gateways of morning and evening.
You visit the earth and make it fruitful, you fill it with riches; the river of God brims over with water, youprovide the grain. To that end | 9 pris d'effroi, les habitants des bouts du monde; tes signes font jubiler les portes du matin et du soir. |
you water its furrows abundantly, level its ridges, soften it with showers and bless its shoots.
You crown the year with your generosity, richness seeps from your tracks, | 11 arrosant ses sillons, aplanissant ses mottes, tu la détrempes d'averses, tu bénis son germe. |
the pastures of the desert grow moist, the hillsides are wrapped in joy, | 12 Tu couronnes l'année de tes bontés, sur tes ornières la graisse ruisselle; |
the meadows are covered with flocks, the val eys clothed with wheat; they shout and sing for joy.
