NEW JERUSALEMNOVA VULGATA
1 [For the choirmaster Psalm Of David Song] Praise is rightful y yours, God, in Zion. Vows to you shallbe fulfil ed,1 Magistro chori. Psalmus. David. Canticum.
2 for you answer prayer. All humanity must come to you2 Te decet hymnus, Deus, in Sion;
et tibi reddetur votum in Ierusalem.
3 with its sinful deeds. Our faults overwhelm us, but you blot them out.3 Qui audis orationem,
ad te omnis caro veniet propter iniquitatem.
4 How blessed those whom you choose and invite to dwell in your courts. We shal be filled with thegood things of your house, of your holy temple.4 Etsi praevaluerunt super nos impietates nostrae,
tu propitiaberis eis.
5 You respond to us with the marvels of your saving justice, God our Saviour, hope of the whole wideworld, even the distant islands.5 Beatus, quem elegisti et assumpsisti; inhabitabit in atriis tuis.
Replebimur bonis domus tuae,
sanctitate templi tui.
6 By your strength you hold the mountains steady, being clothed in power,6 Mirabiliter in aequitate
exaudies nos, Deus salutis nostrae,
spes omnium finium terrae et maris longinqui.
7 you calm the turmoil of the seas, the turmoil of their waves. The nations are in uproar, in panic thosewho live at the ends of the earth;7 Firmans montes in virtute tua,
accinctus potentia.
8 your miracles bring shouts of joy to the gateways of morning and evening.8 Compescens sonitum maris,
sonitum fluctuum eius
et tumultum populorum.
9 You visit the earth and make it fruitful, you fill it with riches; the river of God brims over with water, youprovide the grain. To that end9 Et timebunt, qui habitant terminos terrae, a signis tuis;
exitus orientis et occidentis delectabis.
10 you water its furrows abundantly, level its ridges, soften it with showers and bless its shoots.10 Visitasti terram et inebriasti eam;
multiplicasti locupletare eam.
Flumen Dei repletum est aquis;
parasti frumenta illorum,
quoniam ita parasti eam.
11 You crown the year with your generosity, richness seeps from your tracks,11 Sulcos eius irrigans, glebas eius complanans;
imbribus emollis eam, benedicis germini eius.
12 the pastures of the desert grow moist, the hillsides are wrapped in joy,12 Coronasti annum benignitate tua,
et vestigia tua stillabunt pinguedinem.
13 the meadows are covered with flocks, the val eys clothed with wheat; they shout and sing for joy.13 Stillabunt pascua deserti,
et exsultatione colles accingentur.
14 Induta sunt ovibus prata,
et valles abundabunt frumento;
clamabunt, etenim hymnum dicent.
