[For the choirmaster Psalm Of David Song] Praise is rightful y yours, God, in Zion. Vows to you shallbe fulfil ed, | 1 Salmo, e cantico della rissurrezione. |
for you answer prayer. All humanity must come to you | 2 Dite a Dio: quanto son terribili, o Signore, le opere tue! a cagione della tua molta possanza i tuoi nemici fingeranno con te. |
with its sinful deeds. Our faults overwhelm us, but you blot them out. |
How blessed those whom you choose and invite to dwell in your courts. We shal be filled with thegood things of your house, of your holy temple. |
You respond to us with the marvels of your saving justice, God our Saviour, hope of the whole wideworld, even the distant islands. | 5 Egli converte il mare in arida terra; passeranno il fiume a piede asciutto: ivi in lui ci allegreremo. |
By your strength you hold the mountains steady, being clothed in power, | 6 Egli ha un dominio eterno per sua potenza: gli occhi di lui sono aperti sopra le nazioni: coloro, che lo irritano non si inalberino dentro di loro. |
you calm the turmoil of the seas, the turmoil of their waves. The nations are in uproar, in panic thosewho live at the ends of the earth; | 7 Benedite, o nazioni, il nostro Dio, e fate udire le voci con cui lo lo date. |
your miracles bring shouts of joy to the gateways of morning and evening. |
You visit the earth and make it fruitful, you fill it with riches; the river of God brims over with water, youprovide the grain. To that end | 9 Perché tu, o Dio, hai fatto prova di noi: ne hai fatto saggio col fuoco, come si fa dell'argento. |
you water its furrows abundantly, level its ridges, soften it with showers and bless its shoots. |
You crown the year with your generosity, richness seeps from your tracks, | 11 Siam passati pel fuoco, e per l'acqua, ma ci hai quindi condotti in lungo di ristoro. |
the pastures of the desert grow moist, the hillsides are wrapped in joy, | 12 Entrerò nella tua casa per offerire olocausti: scioglierò i voti pronunziati dalle mie labbra: |
the meadows are covered with flocks, the val eys clothed with wheat; they shout and sing for joy. |
Ti offerirò pingui olocausti col fumo de' capri: ti offerirò de' bovi, e de' montoni.
