1 [For the choirmaster Psalm Of David Song] Praise is rightful y yours, God, in Zion. Vows to you shallbe fulfil ed,1 In finem. Canticum psalmi resurrectionis. Jubilate Deo, omnis terra ;
2 for you answer prayer. All humanity must come to you2 psalmum dicite nomini ejus ;
date gloriam laudi ejus.
3 with its sinful deeds. Our faults overwhelm us, but you blot them out.3 Dicite Deo : Quam terribilia sunt opera tua, Domine !
in multitudine virtutis tuæ mentientur tibi inimici tui.
4 How blessed those whom you choose and invite to dwell in your courts. We shal be filled with thegood things of your house, of your holy temple.4 Omnis terra adoret te, et psallat tibi ;
psalmum dicat nomini tuo.
5 You respond to us with the marvels of your saving justice, God our Saviour, hope of the whole wideworld, even the distant islands.5 Venite, et videte opera Dei :
terribilis in consiliis super filios hominum.
6 By your strength you hold the mountains steady, being clothed in power,6 Qui convertit mare in aridam ;
in flumine pertransibunt pede :
ibi lætabimur in ipso.
7 you calm the turmoil of the seas, the turmoil of their waves. The nations are in uproar, in panic thosewho live at the ends of the earth;7 Qui dominatur in virtute sua in æternum ;
oculi ejus super gentes respiciunt :
qui exasperant non exaltentur in semetipsis.
8 your miracles bring shouts of joy to the gateways of morning and evening.8 Benedicite, gentes, Deum nostrum,
et auditam facite vocem laudis ejus :
9 You visit the earth and make it fruitful, you fill it with riches; the river of God brims over with water, youprovide the grain. To that end9 qui posuit animam meam ad vitam,
et non dedit in commotionem pedes meos.
10 you water its furrows abundantly, level its ridges, soften it with showers and bless its shoots.10 Quoniam probasti nos, Deus ;
igne nos examinasti, sicut examinatur argentum.
11 You crown the year with your generosity, richness seeps from your tracks,11 Induxisti nos in laqueum ;
posuisti tribulationes in dorso nostro ;
12 the pastures of the desert grow moist, the hillsides are wrapped in joy,12 imposuisti homines super capita nostra.
Transivimus per ignem et aquam,
et eduxisti nos in refrigerium.
13 the meadows are covered with flocks, the val eys clothed with wheat; they shout and sing for joy.13 Introibo in domum tuam in holocaustis ;
reddam tibi vota mea
14 quæ distinxerunt labia mea :
et locutum est os meum in tribulatione mea.
15 Holocausta medullata offeram tibi, cum incenso arietum ;
offeram tibi boves cum hircis.
16 Venite, audite, et narrabo, omnes qui timetis Deum,
quanta fecit animæ meæ.
17 Ad ipsum ore meo clamavi,
et exaltavi sub lingua mea.
18 Iniquitatem si aspexi in corde meo,
non exaudiet Dominus.
19 Propterea exaudivit Deus,
et attendit voci deprecationis meæ.
20 Benedictus Deus, qui non amovit orationem meam,
et misericordiam suam a me.
