1 ALLELUJA! Áldjátok az Urat, hívjátok segítségül nevét, hirdessétek a nemzetek közt műveit!	1 Al eluia! Give thanks to Yahweh, cal on his name, proclaim his deeds to the peoples!
2 Énekeljetek és zengjetek zsoltárt neki, beszéljétek el minden csodatettét.	2 Sing to him, make music for him, recount all his wonders!
3 Dicsekedjetek szent nevével, örvendezzen azoknak a szíve, akik az Urat keresik.	3 Glory in his holy name, let the hearts that seek Yahweh rejoice!
4 Keressétek az Urat és erejét, keressétek szüntelenül arcát.	4 Seek Yahweh and his strength, tirelessly seek his presence!
5 Emlékezzetek meg csodatetteiről, amelyeket művelt, jeleiről és szája ítéleteiről,	5 Remember the marvels he has done, his wonders, the judgements he has spoken.
6 ti, az ő szolgájának, Ábrahám utódai, választottjának, Jákobnak fiai.	6 Stock of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob whom he chose!
7 Ő, az Úr, a mi Istenünk, az egész földön ő ítélkezik.	7 He is Yahweh our God, his judgements touch the whole world.
8 Örökké gondol szövetségére, szavára, amelyet ezer nemzedékre adott,	8 He remembers his covenant for ever, the promise he laid down for a thousand generations,
9 arra, amit Ábrahámmal megkötött, amire megesküdött Izsáknak.	9 which he concluded with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.
10 Amit Jákobnak törvényül hagyott, örök szövetségül Izraelnek,	10 He established it as a statute for Jacob, an everlasting covenant with Israel,
11 mondván: »Neked adom Kánaán földjét, mint kötéllel kimért örökségteket.«	11 saying, 'To you I give a land, Canaan, your allotted birthright.'
12 Pedig csekély számmal voltak igen kevesen és jövevények azon a földön,	12 When they were insignificant in numbers, a handful of strangers in the land,
13 és nemzettől nemzethez vándoroltak, egyik országból a másikba.	13 wandering from country to country, from one kingdom and nation to another,
14 Nem engedte, hogy bárki is ártson nekik, sőt királyokat fenyített meg miattuk:	14 he al owed no one to oppress them; for their sake he instructed kings,
15 »Fölkentjeimhez ne nyúljatok, ne bántsátok prófétáimat!«	15 'Do not touch my anointed ones, to my prophets you may do no harm.'
16 Amikor éhséget bocsátott az országra, s összetörte kenyértartó botjukat.	16 He cal ed down famine on the land, he took away their food supply;
17 Elküldött előttük egy férfit, rabszolgának adták el Józsefet.	17 he sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, sold as a slave.
18 Béklyóba szorították lábát, vas került a nyakára,	18 So his feet were weighed down with shackles, his neck was put in irons.
19 amíg szava be nem teljesedett: az Úr igéje ugyanis igazolta őt.	19 In due time his prophecy was fulfilled, the word of Yahweh proved him true.
20 A király elküldött és megszabadíttatta, a népek fejedelme szabadon engedte;	20 The king sent orders to release him, the ruler of nations set him free;
21 Háza urává tette őt és minden jószágának parancsolójává,	21 he put him in charge of his household, the ruler of al he possessed,
22 hogy főembereit tetszése szerint kormányozza, és bölcsességre tanítsa véneit.	22 to instruct his princes as he saw fit, to teach his counsel ors wisdom.
23 Erre Izrael Egyiptomba költözött, és Jákob jövevény lett Kám földjén.	23 Then Israel migrated to Egypt, Jacob settled in the country of Ham.
24 Nagyon elszaporította népét az Úr, erősebbé tette ellenségeinél.	24 He made his people increase in numbers, he gave them more strength than their enemies,
25 Majd megváltoztatta azok szívét, úgyhogy meggyűlölték népét, szolgáival álnokul bántak.	25 whose heart he turned to hate his own people, to double-cross his servants.
26 Erre elküldte szolgáját, Mózest és Áront, a választottját,	26 He sent his servant Moses, and Aaron, the man of his choice.
27 és végbevitette velük beszédes jeleit és csodatetteit Kám földjén.	27 They worked there the wonders he commanded, marvels in the country of Ham.
28 Sötétséget küldött és homályt támasztott, mert lázongtak szava ellen.	28 Darkness he sent, and darkness fel , but that nation defied his orders.
29 Vizüket vérré változtatta, halaikat megölte.	29 He turned their rivers to blood, and kil ed al the fish in them.

32 Esőjüket jégesővé tette, égő tüzet bocsátott földjükre.	32 He gave them hail as their rain, flames of fire in their land;
33 Elverte szőlőjüket, fügefáikat, összetörte földjükön a fákat.	33 he blasted their vine and their fig tree, and shattered the trees of the country.
34 Szavára szöcskék nyüzsögtek, és megszámlálhatatlan vándorsáska,	34 At his word came locusts, hoppers beyond al counting;
35 és megemésztett földjükön minden növényt, megette földjük minden gyümölcsét.	35 they devoured every green thing in the land, devoured al the produce of the soil.
36 Megölte országuk minden elsőszülöttét, erejük minden zsengéjét.	36 He struck al the first-born in their land, the flower of all their manhood;
37 Aztán kivezette őket ezüsttel-arannyal megrakottan, törzseikben senki sem volt beteg.	37 he led Israel out with silver and gold; in their tribes there was none who stumbled.
38 Egyiptom örült, hogy kivonultak, mert rájuk nehezedett a tőlük való félelem.	38 Egypt was glad at their leaving, for terror of Israel had seized them.
39 Oltalmukra felhőt terjesztett föléjük és tűzzel világított nekik éjszaka.	39 He spread out a cloud to cover them, and fire to light up the night.
40 Kérésükre fürjek jöttek, és mennyei kenyérrel lakatta jól őket.	40 They asked and he brought them quails, food from heaven to their hearts' content;
41 Megnyitotta a sziklát és vizek fakadtak, folyók eredtek a sivatagban.	41 he opened a rock, the waters gushed out, and flowed in dry ground as a river.
42 Mert megemlékezett szent szaváról, amelyet szolgájához, Ábrahámhoz intézett.	42 Faithful to his sacred promise, given to his servant Abraham,

44 Nekik adta a nemzetek országait, elfoglalták a népek tulajdonát,	44 He gave them the territories of nations, they reaped the fruit of other people's labours,
45 hogy megtartsák rendeleteit, és kövessék törvényeit. Alleluja!	45 on condition that they kept his statutes, and remained obedient to his laws.
