1 Il Signore disse ancora a Mosè:	1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
2 "Fatti due trombe d'argento; le farai lavorate a martello e ti serviranno per convocare la comunità e per levare l'accampamento.	2 'Make yourself two trumpets; make them of beaten silver, so that you can use them for summoningthe community, and for sounding the order to break camp.
3 Al suono di esse tutta la comunità si radunerà presso di te all'ingresso della tenda del convegno.	3 Whenever they are sounded, the whole community must gather round you, at the entrance to theTent of Meeting.
4 Al suono di una tromba sola, i principi, i capi delle migliaia d'Israele, converranno presso di te.	4 But if only one trumpet is sounded, then only the leaders, the heads of Israel's thousands, mustgather round you.
5 Quando suonerete uno squillo di acclamazione, gli accampamenti che sono a levante si metteranno in cammino.	5 'When the trumpet blast is accompanied by a battle cry, the encampments pitched to the east wil setout.
6 Quando suonerete una seconda volta lo squillo di acclamazione, gli accampamenti che si trovano a mezzogiorno si metteranno in cammino; si suoneranno squilli di acclamazione quando dovranno mettersi in cammino.	6 At the second blast accompanied by a battle cry, the encampments pitched to the south wil set out.For breaking camp, the trumpet blast wil be accompanied by a battle cry,
7 Quando deve essere convocata la comunità, suonerete, ma non uno squillo di acclamazione.	7 but for assembling the community the trumpets will be sounded without battle cry.
8 I sacerdoti figli di Aronne suoneranno le trombe; sarà una legge perenne per voi e per i vostri discendenti.	8 The Aaronite priests wil sound the trumpets; this is a perpetual decree for you and your descendants.
9 Quando nel vostro paese andrete in guerra contro il nemico che vi attaccherà, suonerete le trombe con squilli di acclamazione e sarete ricordati davanti al Signore vostro Dio e sarete liberati dai vostri nemici.	9 'When in your country you go to war against an enemy who is oppressing you, you will soundtrumpets with a battle cry, and Yahweh your God wil remember you, and you wil be delivered from yourenemies.
10 Così anche nei vostri giorni di gioia, nelle vostre solennità e al principio dei vostri mesi, suonerete le trombe quando offrirete olocausti e sacrifici di comunione; esse vi ricorderanno davanti al vostro Dio. Io sono il Signore vostro Dio".	10 At your festivals, solemnities and new-moon feasts, you will sound the trumpets over your burntofferings and communion sacrifices, so that they recal you to the remembrance of your God. I am Yahweh yourGod.'
11 Il secondo anno, il secondo mese, il venti del mese, la nube si alzò sopra la Dimora della testimonianza.	11 In the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, the cloud rose fromwhere the Dwel ing of the Testimony was,
12 Gli Israeliti partirono dal deserto del Sinai secondo il loro ordine di marcia; la nube si fermò nel deserto di Paran.	12 and the Israelites set out, in marching order, from the desert of Sinai. The cloud came to rest in thedesert of Paran.
13 Così si misero in cammino la prima volta, secondo l'ordine del Signore, dato per mezzo di Mosè.	13 These were the men who set out in the vanguard, at Yahweh's order through Moses:
14 Per prima si mosse l'insegna dell'accampamento dei figli di Giuda, diviso secondo le loro schiere. Nacason, figlio di Amminadab, comandava la schiera di Giuda.	14 first went the standard of the camp of the Judahites and their units, with Nahshon son ofAmminadab commanding that contingent;
15 Netaneel, figlio di Suar, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Issacar;	15 Nethanel son of Zuar commanding the tribal contingent of the Issacharites;
16 Eliab, figlio di Chelon, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Zàbulon.	16 and Eliab son of Helon commanding the tribal contingent of the Zebulunites.
17 La Dimora fu smontata e i figli di Gherson e i figli di Merari si misero in cammino portando la Dimora.	17 The Dwel ing was then dismantled and the Gershonites and Merarites set out, carrying the Dwel ing.
18 Poi si mosse l'insegna dell'accampamento di Ruben, diviso secondo le sue schiere. Elisur, figlio di Sedeur, comandava la schiera di Ruben.	18 Then came the standard of the camp of the Reubenites and their units, with Elizur son of Shedeurcommanding that contingent;
19 Selumiel, figlio di Surisaddai, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Simeone.	19 Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai commanding the tribal contingent of the Simeonites;
20 Eliasaf, figlio di Deuel, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Gad.	20 and Eliasaph son of Reuel commanding the tribal contingent of the Gadites.
21 Poi si mossero i Keatiti, portando gli oggetti sacri; gli altri dovevano erigere la Dimora, prima che questi arrivassero.	21 Then came the Kohathites carrying the sanctuary (the Dwel ing was erected before they arrived).
22 Poi si mosse l'insegna dell'accampamento dei figli di Efraim, diviso secondo le sue schiere. Elisama, figlio di Ammiud, comandava la schiera di Efraim.	22 Then came the standard of the camp of the Ephraimites and their units, with Elishama son ofAmmihud commanding that contingent;
23 Gamliel, figlio di Pedasur, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Manàsse.	23 Gamaliel son of Pedahzur commanding the tribal contingent of the Manassehites;
24 Abidau, figlio di Ghideoni, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Beniamino.	24 and Abidan son of Gideoni commanding the tribal contingent of the Benjaminites.
25 Poi si mosse l'insegna dell'accampamento dei figli di Dan, diviso secondo le sue schiere, formando la retroguardia di tutti gli accampamenti. Achiezer, figlio di Ammisaddai, comandava la schiera di Dan.	25 Last of al , the rearguard of al the camps, came the standard of the camp of the Danites and theirunits, with Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai commanding that contingent;
26 Paghiel, figlio di Ocran, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Aser,	26 Pagiel son of Ochran commanding the tribal contingent of the Asherites;
27 e Achira, figlio di Enan, comandava la schiera della tribù dei figli di Nèftali.	27 and Ahira son of Enan commanding the tribal contingent of the Naphtalites.
28 Questo era l'ordine con cui gli Israeliti si misero in cammino, secondo le loro schiere. Così levarono l'accampamento.	28 Such was the order of march for the Israelites, unit by unit. So they set out.
29 Mosè disse a Obab, figlio di Reuel, Madianita, suocero di Mosè: "Noi stiamo per partire, verso il luogo del quale il Signore ha detto: Io ve lo darò in possesso. Vieni con noi e ti faremo del bene, perché il Signore ha promesso di fare il bene a Israele".	29 Moses said to Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite, his father-in-law, 'We are setting out for the countryof which Yahweh has said: I shall give it to you. Come with us, and we wil treat you wel , for Yahweh haspromised good things for Israel.'
30 Gli rispose: "Io non verrò ma tornerò al mio paese e dai miei parenti". Mosè disse:	30 'I wil not come with you,' he replied, 'but shal go to my own country and kin.'
31 "Non ci lasciare poiché tu conosci i luoghi dove ci accamperemo nel deserto e sarai per noi come gli occhi.	31 'Do not leave us,' Moses said, 'for you know where we can camp in the desert, and so you will beour eyes.
32 Se vieni con noi, qualunque bene il Signore farà a noi, noi lo faremo a te".	32 If you come with us, we shal share with you whatever blessings Yahweh gives us.'
33 Così partirono dal monte del Signore e fecero tre giornate di cammino; l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore li precedeva durante le tre giornate di cammino, per cercare loro un luogo di sosta.	33 They set out from Yahweh's mountain and travel ed for three days, while the ark of the covenant ofYahweh preceded them on the three-day journey, searching out a place for them to halt.
34 La nube del Signore era sopra di loro durante il giorno da quando erano partiti.	34 In the daytime, Yahweh's cloud was over them, once they had broken camp.
35 Quando l'arca partiva, Mosè diceva: "Sorgi, Signore, e siano dispersi i tuoi nemici e fuggano da te coloro che ti odiano".	35 Whenever the ark set out, Moses would say: Rise, Yahweh, may your enemies be scattered andthose who hate you flee at your approach!
36 Quando si posava, diceva: "Torna, Signore, alle miriadi di migliaia di Israele".	36 And when it halted, he would say: Come back, Yahweh, to the countless thousands of Israel!
