BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Pasado el sábado, al alborear el primer día de la semana, María Magdalena y la otra María fueron a ver el sepulcro.	1 After the Sabbath, and towards dawn on the first day of the week, Mary of Magdala and the other Marywent to visit the sepulchre.
2 De pronto se produjo un gran terremoto, pues el Angel del Señor bajó del cielo y, acercándose, hizo rodar la piedra y se sentó encima de ella.	2 And suddenly there was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, cameand rol ed away the stone and sat on it.
3 Su aspecto era como el relámpago y su vestido blanco como la nieve.	3 His face was like lightning, his robe white as snow.
4 Los guardias, atemorizados ante él, se pusieron a temblar y se quedaron como muertos.	4 The guards were so shaken by fear of him that they were like dead men.
5 El Angel se dirigió a las mujeres y les dijo: «Vosotras no temáis, pues sé que buscáis a Jesús, el Crucificado;	5 But the angel spoke; and he said to the women, 'There is no need for you to be afraid. I know you arelooking for Jesus, who was crucified.
6 no está aquí, ha resucitado, como lo había dicho. Venid, ved el lugar donde estaba.	6 He is not here, for he has risen, as he said he would. Come and see the place where he lay,
7 Y ahora id enseguida a decir a sus discípulos: “Ha resucitado de entre los muertos e irá delante de vosotros a Galilea; allí le veréis.” Ya os lo he dicho».	7 then go quickly and tel his disciples, "He has risen from the dead and now he is going ahead of you toGalilee; that is where you wil see him." Look! I have told you.'
8 Ellas partieron a toda prisa del sepulcro, con miedo y gran gozo, y corrieron a dar la noticia a sus discípulos.	8 Fil ed with awe and great joy the women came quickly away from the tomb and ran to tel his disciples.
9 En esto, Jesús les salió al encuentro y les dijo: «¡Dios os guarde!» Y ellas, acercándose, se asieron de sus pies y le adoraron.	9 And suddenly, coming to meet them, was Jesus. 'Greetings,' he said. And the women came up to himand, clasping his feet, they did him homage.
10 Entonces les dice Jesús: «No temáis. Id, avisad a mis hermanos que vayan a Galilea; allí me verán».	10 Then Jesus said to them, 'Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers that they must leave for Galilee;there they wil see me.'
11 Mientras ellas iban, algunos de la guardia fueron a la ciudad a contar a los sumos sacerdotes todo lo que había pasado.	11 Now while they were on their way, some of the guards went off into the city to tell the chief priests althat had happened.
12 Estos, reunidos con los ancianos, celebraron consejo y dieron una buena suma de dinero a los soldados,	12 These held a meeting with the elders and, after some discussion, handed a considerable sum ofmoney to the soldiers
13 advirtiéndoles: «Decid: “Sus discípulos vinieron de noche y le robaron mientras nosotros dormíamos.”	13 with these instructions, 'This is what you must say, "His disciples came during the night and stole him away while we were asleep."
14 Y si la cosa llega a oídos del procurador, nosotros le convenceremos y os evitaremos complicaciones».	14 And should the governor come to hear of this, we undertake to put things right with him ourselvesand to see that you do not get into trouble.'

18 Jesús se acercó a ellos y les habló así: «Me ha sido dado todo poder en el cielo y en la tierra.	18 Jesus came up and spoke to them. He said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given tome.
19 Id, pues, y haced discípulos a todas las gentes bautizándolas en el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo,	19 Go, therefore, make disciples of al nations; baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Sonand of the Holy Spirit,
20 y enseñándoles a guardar todo lo que yo os he mandado. Y he aquí que yo estoy con vosotros todos los días hasta el fin del mundo».	20 and teach them to observe al the commands I gave you. And look, I am with you always; yes, to theend of time.'
