1 De acuerdo con todo esto, nosotros tomamos un firme compromiso por escrito. En el documento sellado figuran nuestros jefes, nuestros levitas y nuestros sacerdotes...	1 In view of al this we make a firm agreement, in writing. Our princes, our Levites, our priests and therest of the people have put their names to the document under seal.
2 En el documento sellado figuraban: Nehemías, hijo de Jakalías, y Sedecías.	2 On the sealed document were the names of: Nehemiah, son of Hacaliah, and Zedekiah;
3 Seraías, Azarías, Jeremías,	3 Seraiah, Azariah, Jeremiah,
4 Pasjur, Amarías, Malkías,	4 Pashhur, Amariah, Malchijah,
5 Jattús, Sebanías, Malluk,	5 Hattush, Shebaniah, Mal uch,

29 y el resto del pueblo, los sacerdotes y los levitas los porteros, los cantores, los donados y todos los separados de las gentes del país para seguir la Ley de Dios, sus mujeres, sus hijos y sus hijas, cuantos tienen uso de razón,	29 And the rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, the temple slavesand all those who had severed relations with the people of the country to adhere to the law of God, as also theirwives, their sons, their daughters, that is, al those who had reached the age of discretion,
30 se adhieren a sus hermanos y a los nobles y se comprometen por imprecación y juramento a caminar en la Ley de Dios, que fue dada por mano de Moisés, siervo de Dios, y a guardar y practicar todos los mandamientos de Yahveh nuestro Señor, sus normas y sus leyes.	30 have joined their esteemed brothers in a solemn oath to follow the law of God given through Moses,servant of God, and to observe and practise all the commandments of Yahweh our Lord, with his rules and hisstatutes.
31 A no dar nuestras hijas a las gentes del país ni tomar sus hijas para nuestros hijos.	31 We will not give our daughters in marriage to the peoples of the country, nor allow their daughters tomarry our sons.
32 Si las gentes del país traen, en día de sábado, mercancías o cualquier otra clase de comestibles para vender, nada les compraremos en día de sábado ni en día sagrado. En el año séptimo abandonaremos el producto de la tierra y todas las deudas.	32 If the people of the country bring goods or foodstuff of any kind to sel on the Sabbath day, we wilbuy nothing from them on Sabbath or holy day. In the seventh year, we wil forgo the produce of the soil and theexaction of al debts.
33 Nos imponemos como obligación: Dar un tercio de siclo al año para el servicio de la Casa de nuestro Dios:	33 We recognise the fol owing obligations: to give one-third of a shekel yearly for the service of theTemple of our God:
34 para el pan que se presenta, para la oblación perpetua y el holocausto perpetuo, para los sacrificios de los sábados, de los novilunios, de las solemnidades, para los alimentos sagrados, para los sacrificios por el pecado como expiación por Israel y para toda la obra de la Casa de nuestro Dios;	34 for the loaves of permanent offering, for the perpetual oblation, for the perpetual burnt offering, forthe sacrifices on Sabbaths, on New Moons and on festivals, for the consecrated gifts, the sin offerings to expiatefor Israel, in short, for the whole work of the Temple of our God;
35 Hemos echado a suertes - sacerdotes, levitas y pueblo - la ofrenda de la leña que ha de traer a la Casa de nuestro Dios cada familia en su turno, a sus tiempos, cada año, para quemarla sobre el altar de Yahveh nuestro Dios con arreglo a lo escrito en la Ley.	35 Furthermore, as regards deliveries of wood for burning on the altar of our God as the law prescribes,we have arranged, by drawing lots, how these deliveries are to be made at the Temple of our God by the priests,the Levites and the people by families, at stated times every year.We wil no longer neglect the Temple of ourGod.
36 y traer cada año a la Casa de Yahveh las primicias de nuestro suelo y las primicias de los frutos de todos los árboles,	36 and further, to bring yearly to the Temple of our God the first-fruits of our soil and the first-fruits of alour orchards,
37 y los primogénitos de nuestros hijos y de nuestro ganado, conforme a lo escrito en la Ley - los primeros nacidos de nuestro ganado mayor y menor, que se traen a la Casa de nuestro Dios son para los sacerdotes que ejercen el ministerio en la casa de nuestro Dios -.	37 also the first-born of our sons and of our cattle, as the law prescribes, the first-born of our herds andflocks should be taken to the Temple of our God for the priests officiating in the Temple of our God.
38 Lo mejor de nuestras moliendas, de los frutos de todo árbol, del vino y del aceite, se lo traeremos a los sacerdotes, a los aposentos de la Casa de nuestro Dios; y el diezmo de nuestro suelo a los levitas, y ellos mismos cobrarán el diezmo en todas las ciudades de nuestra labranza;	38 Furthermore, we shall bring the best of our dough, of every kind of fruit, of the new wine and of the oilto the priests, to the storerooms of the Temple of our God, and the tithe on our soil to the Levites -- the Leviteswil themselves col ect the tithes from all the towns of our religion.
39 un sacerdote, hijo de Aarón, irá con los levitas cuando éstos cobren el diezmo; los levitas subirán el diezmo del diezmo a la Casa de nuestro Dios a los aposentos de la casa del tesoro;	39 An Aaronite priest wil accompany the Levites when they collect the tithes, and the Levites wil bringa tenth part
40 pues a estos aposentos traen los israelitas y los levitas la ofrenda reservada de trigo, vino y aceite; allí se encuentran también los utensilios del santuario, de los sacerdotes que están de servicio y de los porteros y cantores. No abandonaremos más la Casa de nuestro Dios.	40 a,b of the tithes to the Temple of our God, into the treasury storerooms; for these rooms are wherethe Israelites and the Levites are to bring the contributions of corn, wine and oil, and where the vessels of thesanctuary are, and the officiating priests, the gatekeepers and the singers.
