NEW JERUSALEM	Le Sainte Bible Fillion
1 It was two days before the Passover and the feast of Unleavened Bread, and the chief priests and thescribes were looking for a way to arrest Jesus by some trick and have him put to death.	1 Or, deux jours après, c'étaient la Pâque et les Azymes, et les princes des prêtres et les scribes cherchaient comment ils se saisiraient de Jésus par ruse, et Le feraient mourir.
2 For they said, 'It must not be during the festivities, or there wil be a disturbance among the people.'	2 Mais ils disaient: Que ce ne soit pas le jour de la fête, de peur qu'il ne s'élève quelque tumulte parmi le peuple.
3 He was at Bethany in the house of Simon, a man who had suffered from a virulent skin-disease; hewas at table when a woman came in with an alabaster jar of very costly ointment, pure nard. She broke the jarand poured the ointment on his head.	3 Comme Jésus était à Béthanie, dans la maison de Simon le lépreux, et qu'Il était à table, une femme entra, portant un vase d'albâtre plein d'un parfum précieux, de nard d'épi, et ayant rompu le vase, elle répandit le parfum sur la tête de Jésus.
4 Some who were there said to one another indignantly, 'Why this waste of ointment?	4 Or il y en avait là quelques-uns qui s'indignèrent en eux-mêmes, et qui disaient: A quoi bon perdre ainsi ce parfum?
5 Ointment like this could have been sold for over three hundred denari and the money given to thepoor'; and they were angry with her.	5 Car on pouvait vendre ce parfum plus de trois cents deniers, et les donner aux pauvres. Et ils s'irritaient contre elle.
6 But Jesus said, 'Leave her alone. Why are you upsetting her? What she has done for me is a goodwork.	6 Mais Jésus dit: Laissez-la; pourquoi lui faites-vous de la peine? Elle a fait une bonne oeuvre à Mon égard.
7 You have the poor with you always, and you can be kind to them whenever you wish, but you wil notalways have me.	7 Car vous avez toujours des pauvres avec vous, et quand vous voudrez, vous pourrez leur faire du bien; mais Moi, vous ne M'aurez pas toujours.
8 She has done what she could: she has anointed my body beforehand for its burial.	8 Ce qu'elle a pu, elle l'a fait; elle a d'avance embaumé Mon corps pour la sépulture.
9 In truth I tel you, wherever throughout al the world the gospel is proclaimed, what she has done wilbe told as well, in remembrance of her.'	9 En vérité, Je vous le dis, partout où sera prêché cet Evangile, dans le monde entier, on racontera aussi, en mémoire de cette femme, ce qu'elle a fait.
10 Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, approached the chief priests with an offer to hand Jesus over tothem.	10 Alors Judas Iscariote, l'un des douze, s'en alla vers les princes des prêtres, pour leur livrer Jésus.
11 They were delighted to hear it, and promised to give him money; and he began to look for a way ofbetraying him when the opportunity should occur.	11 Après l'avoir entendu, ils se réjouirent, et promirent de lui donner de l'argent. Et il cherchait une occasion favorable pour Le livrer.
12 On the first day of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lamb was sacrificed, his disciples said tohim, 'Where do you want us to go and make the preparations for you to eat the Passover?'	12 Le premier jour des Azymes, où on immolait la pâque, les disciples Lui dirent: Où voulez-Vous que nous allions Vous préparer ce qu'il faut pour manger la pâque?
13 So he sent two of his disciples, saying to them, 'Go into the city and you will meet a man carrying apitcher of water. Fol ow him,	13 Et Il envoya deux de Ses disciples, et leur dit: Allez à la ville, et vous rencontrerez un homme portant une cruche d'eau; suivez-le,
14 and say to the owner of the house which he enters, "The Master says: Where is the room for me toeat the Passover with my disciples?"	14 et en quelque lieu qu'il entre, dites au maître de la maison: Le Maître dit: Où est le lieu où Je pourrai manger la pâque avec Mes disciples?
15 He wil show you a large upper room furnished with couches, al prepared. Make the preparations forus there.'	15 Et il vous montrera une grande chambre haute, toute meublée; là faites-nous les préparatifs.
16 The disciples set out and went to the city and found everything as he had told them, and preparedthe Passover.	16 Ses disciples s'en allèrent donc et vinrent dans la ville; et ils trouvèrent les choses comme Il le leur avait dit, et ils préparèrent la pâque.
17 When evening came he arrived with the Twelve.	17 Le soir étant venu, Il Se rendit là avec les douze.
18 And while they were at table eating, Jesus said, 'In truth I tell you, one of you is about to betray me,one of you eating with me.'	18 Et tandis qu'ils étaient à table et qu'ils mangeaient, Jésus dit: En vérité, Je vous le dis: l'un de vous qui mange avec Moi Me trahira.
19 They were distressed and said to him, one after another, 'Not me, surely?'	19 Ils commencèrent à s'attrister, et à Lui dire l'un après l'autre: Est-ce moi?
20 He said to them, 'It is one of the Twelve, one who is dipping into the same dish with me.	20 Il leur répondit: C'est l'un des douze, qui met avec Moi la main au plat.
21 Yes, the Son of man is going to his fate, as the scriptures say he will, but alas for that man by whomthe Son of man is betrayed! Better for that man if he had never been born.'	21 Pour le Fils de l'homme, Il S'en va selon ce qui a été écrit de Lui; mais malheur à l'homme par qui le Fils de l'homme sera trahi! Mieux vaudrait pour cet homme qu'il ne fût pas né.
22 And as they were eating he took bread, and when he had said the blessing he broke it and gave it tothem. 'Take it,' he said, 'this is my body.'	22 Pendant qu'ils mangeaient, Jésus prit du pain, et l'ayant béni, Il le rompit et le leur donna, en disant: Prenez, ceci est Mon corps.
23 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he handed it to them, and al drank from it,	23 Et ayant pris le calice et rendu grâces, Il le leur donna, et ils en burent tous.
24 and he said to them, 'This is my blood, the blood of the covenant, poured out for many.	24 Et Il leur dit: Ceci est Mon sang, le sang de la nouvelle alliance, qui sera répandu pour un grand nombre.
25 In truth I tel you, I shal never drink wine any more until the day I drink the new wine in the kingdomof God.'	25 En vérité, Je vous le dis, désormais Je ne boirai plus du fruit de la vigne jusqu'au jour où J'en boirai du nouveau dans le royaume de Dieu.
26 After the psalms had been sung they left for the Mount of Olives.	26 Et après avoir dit l'hymne, ils s'en allèrent à la montagne des Oliviers.
27 And Jesus said to them, 'You wil all fal away, for the scripture says: I shal strike the shepherd andthe sheep wil be scattered;	27 Et Jésus leur dit: Vous serez tous scandalisés cette nuit à Mon sujet, car il est écrit: Je frapperai le pasteur, et les brebis seront dispersées.
28 however, after my resurrection I shall go before you into Galilee.'	28 Mais, après que Je serai ressuscité, Je vous précéderai en Galilée.
29 Peter said, 'Even if all fal away, I wil not.'	29 Or Pierre lui dit: Quand tous seraient scandalisés à Votre sujet, je ne le serai pas.
30 And Jesus said to him, 'In truth I tel you, this day, this very night, before the cock crows twice, youwil have disowned me three times.'	30 Et Jésus lui dit: En vérité, Je te le dis, aujourd'hui, pendant cette nuit, avant que le coq ait chanté deux fois, tu Me renieras trois fois.
31 But he repeated stil more earnestly, 'If I have to die with you, I wil never disown you.' And they allsaid the same.	31 Mais Pierre insistait encore davantage: Quand il me faudrait mourir avec Vous, je ne Vous renierai pas. Et tous disaient la même chose.
32 They came to a plot of land cal ed Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, 'Stay here while I pray.'	32 Ils allèrent ensuite dans une propriété appelée Gethsémani. Et Il dit à Ses disciples: Asseyez-vous ici, pendant que Je prierai.
33 Then he took Peter and James and John with him.	33 Et Il prit avec Lui Pierre, Jacques et Jean, et Il commença à être saisi de frayeur et d'angoisse.
34 And he began to feel terror and anguish. And he said to them, 'My soul is sorrowful to the point ofdeath. Wait here, and stay awake.'	34 Et Il leur dit: Mon âme est triste jusqu'à la mort; demeurez ici, et veillez.
35 And going on a little further he threw himself on the ground and prayed that, if it were possible, thishour might pass him by.	35 Et S'étant avancé un peu, Il Se prosterna contre terre, et Il priait pour que, s'il était possible, cette heure s'éloignât de Lui.
36 'Abba, Father!' he said, 'For you everything is possible. Take this cup away from me. But let it be asyou, not I, would have it.'	36 Et Il dit: Abba, Père, tout Vous est possible; transportez ce calice loin de Moi; toutefois, non pas ce que Je veux, mais ce que Vous voulez.
37 He came back and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, 'Simon, are you asleep? Had you notthe strength to stay awake one hour?	37 Il vint vers les disciples, et Il les trouva endormis. Et il dit à Pierre: Simon, tu dors? Tu n'as pas pu veiller une heure?
38 Stay awake and pray not to be put to the test. The spirit is wil ing enough, but human nature is weak.'	38 Veillez et priez, afin que vous n'entriez point en tentation. L'esprit est prompt, mais la chair est faible.
39 Again he went away and prayed, saying the same words.	39 Et, S'en allant de nouveau, Il pria, redisant les mêmes paroles.
40 And once more he came back and found them sleeping, their eyes were so heavy; and they couldfind no answer for him.	40 Et étant venu, Il les trouva encore endormis; car leurs yeux étaient appesantis de sommeil, et ils ne savaient que Lui répondre.
41 He came back a third time and said to them, 'You can sleep on now and have your rest. It is al over.The hour has come. Now the Son of man is to be betrayed into the hands of sinners.	41 Il revint pour la troisième fois, et Il leur dit: Dormez maintenant et reposez-vous. C'est assez, l'heure est venue; voici que le Fils de l'homme va être livré aux mains des pécheurs.
42 Get up! Let us go! My betrayer is not far away.'	42 Levez-vous, allons; voici que celui qui Me livrera est proche.
43 And at once, while he was stil speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, came up and with him a numberof men armed with swords and clubs, sent by the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.	43 Et comme Il parlait encore, Judas Iscariote, l'un des douze, vint, et avec lui une grande foule, armée d'épées et de bâtons, envoyée par les grands prêtres, et les scribes, et les anciens.
44 Now the traitor had arranged a signal with them saying, 'The one I kiss, he is the man. Arrest him,and see he is well guarded when you lead him away.'	44 Or celui qui Le trahissait leur avait donné ce signal, en disant: Celui que je baiserai, c'est Lui; saisissez-Le, et emmenez-Le avec précaution.
45 So when the traitor came, he went up to Jesus at once and said, 'Rabbi!' and kissed him.	45 Etant donc arrivé, il s'approcha aussitôt de Jésus, et dit: Maître, je Vous salue. Et il Le baisa.
46 The others seized him and arrested him.	46 Alors ils mirent les mains sur Jésus, et Le saisirent.
47 Then one of the bystanders drew his sword and struck out at the high priest's servant and cut off hisear.	47 Un de ceux qui étaient présents, tirant son épée, frappa le serviteur du grand prêtre, et lui coupa l'oreille.
48 Then Jesus spoke. 'Am I a bandit,' he said, 'that you had to set out to capture me with swords andclubs?	48 Jésus, prenant la parole, leur dit: Vous êtes venus, comme contre un voleur, armés d'épées et de bâtons, pour Me prendre.
49 I was among you teaching in the Temple day after day and you never laid a hand on me. But this isto fulfil the scriptures.'	49 Tous les jours J'étais au milieu de vous, enseignant dans le temple, et vous ne M'avez point arrêté; mais c'est pour que les Ecritures soient accomplies.
50 And they al deserted him and ran away.	50 Alors Ses disciples, L'abandonnant, s'enfuirent tous.
51 A young man fol owed with nothing on but a linen cloth. They caught hold of him,	51 Cependant un jeune homme Le suivait, couvert seulement d'un drap, et ils le saisirent.
52 but he left the cloth in their hands and ran away naked.	52 Mais lui, rejetant le drap, s'enfuit nu de leurs mains.
53 They led Jesus off to the high priest; and all the chief priests and the elders and the scribesassembled there.	53 Ils emmenèrent Jésus chez le grand prêtre, où s'assemblèrent tous les prêtres, les scribes et les anciens.
54 Peter had followed him at a distance, right into the high priest's palace, and was sitting with theattendants warming himself at the fire.	54 Pierre Le suivit de loin, jusque dans la cour du grand prêtre, et il s'assit auprès du feu avec les serviteurs, et il se chauffait.
55 The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for evidence against Jesus in order to havehim executed. But they could not find any.	55 Cependant les princes des prêtres et tout le conseil cherchaient un témoignage contre Jésus pour Le faire mourir; et ils n'en trouvaient point.
56 Several, indeed, brought false witness against him, but their evidence was conflicting.	56 Car beaucoup rendaient de faux témoignages contre Lui; mais les témoignages ne s'accordaient pas.
57 Some stood up and submitted this false evidence against him,	57 Quelques-uns, se levant, portèrent un faux témoignage contre Lui, en disant:
58 'We heard him say, "I am going to destroy this Temple made by human hands, and in three daysbuild another, not made by human hands." '	58 Nous L'avons entendu dire: Je détruirai ce temple, fait de main d'homme, et en trois jours J'en bâtirai un autre, qui ne sera pas fait de main d'homme.
59 But even on this point their evidence was conflicting.	59 Mais leur témoignage ne concordait pas.
60 The high priest then rose before the whole assembly and put this question to Jesus, 'Have you noanswer to that? What is this evidence these men are bringing against you?'	60 Alors le grand prêtre, se levant au milieu de l'assemblée, interrogea Jésus, en disant: Tu ne réponds rien à ce que ces hommes déposent contre Toi?
61 But he was silent and made no answer at all. The high priest put a second question to him saying,'Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?'	61 Mais Jésus Se taisait, et Il ne répondit rien. Le grand prêtre L'interrogea de nouveau, et Lui dit: Es-Tu le Christ, le Fils du Dieu béni?
62 'I am,' said Jesus, 'and you wil see the Son of man seated at the right hand of the Power and comingwith the clouds of heaven.'	62 Jésus lui répondit: Je le suis; et vous verrez le Fils de l'homme assis à la droite de la puissance de Dieu, et venant sur les nuées du ciel.
63 The high priest tore his robes and said, 'What need of witnesses have we now?	63 Alors le grand prêtre, déchirant ses vêtements, dit: Qu'avons-nous encore besoin de témoins?
64 You heard the blasphemy. What is your finding?' Their verdict was unanimous: he deserved to die.	64 Vous avez entendu le blasphème; que vous en semble? Tous Le condamnèrent comme méritant la mort.
65 Some of them started spitting at his face, hitting him and saying, 'Play the prophet!' And theattendants struck him too.	65 Alors quelques-uns commencèrent à cracher sur Lui, et à Lui voiler le visage, et à Le frapper à coups de poing, et à Lui dire: Prophétise. Et les valets Le meurtrissaient de soufflets.
66 While Peter was down below in the courtyard, one of the high priest's servant-girls came up.	66 Tandis que Pierre était en bas dans la cour, une des servantes du grand prêtre survint;
67 She saw Peter warming himself there, looked closely at him and said, 'You too were with Jesus, theman from Nazareth.'	67 et ayant vu Pierre qui se chauffait, elle le regarda, et dit: Toi aussi, tu étais avec Jésus de Nazareth.
68 But he denied it. 'I do not know, I do not understand what you are talking about,' he said. And hewent out into the forecourt, and a cock crowed.	68 Mais il le nia, en disant: Je ne sais pas et je ne comprends pas ce que tu dis. Et il sortit dehors, devant la cour, et le coq chanta.
69 The servant-girl saw him and again started tel ing the bystanders, 'This man is one of them.'	69 La servante, l'ayant vu de nouveau, se mit à dire à ceux qui étaient présents: Celui-ci est un d'entre eux.
70 But again he denied it. A little later the bystanders themselves said to Peter, 'You are certainly one ofthem! Why, you are a Galilean.'	70 Mais il le nia de nouveau. Et peu après, ceux qui étaient présents dirent encore à Pierre: Certainement tu es un d'entre eux, car tu es aussi Galiléen.
71 But he started cursing and swearing, 'I do not know the man you speak of.'	71 Il se mit alors à faire des imprécations, et à dire avec serment: Je ne connais pas cet homme dont vous parlez.
72 And at once the cock crowed for the second time, and Peter recalled what Jesus had said to him,'Before the cock crows twice, you will have disowned me three times.' And he burst into tears.	72 Et aussitôt le coq chanta de nouveau. Et Pierre se souvint de la parole que Jésus lui avait dite: Avant que le coq chante deux fois, tu Me renieras trois fois. Et il se mit à pleurer.
