1 Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, in this way stand firm in the Lord, beloved.	1 Nun denn, meine sehnsuchtsvoll geliebten Brüder, meine Freunde und mein Kranz, steht in dieser Weise fest im Herrn, Geliebte!
2 I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to come to a mutual understanding in the Lord.	2 Evodia mahne ich und Syntyche mahne ich, eines Sinnes zu sein im Herrn.
3 Yes, and I ask you also, my true yokemate, to help them, for they have struggled at my side in promoting the gospel, along with Clement and my other co-workers, whose names are in the book of life.	3 Und dich bitte ich, treuer Gefährte, nimm dich ihrer an; sie mühten sich mit mir im Dienste des Evangeliums, zusammen mit Klemens und meinen übrigen Mitarbeitern, deren Namen im Buch des Lebens stehen.
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I shall say it again: rejoice!	4 Freut euch allzeit im Herrn; nochmals sage ich, freut euch!
5 Your kindness should be known to all. The Lord is near.	5 Euer Edelsinn werde kund allen Menschen. Der Herr ist nahe!
6 Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God.	6 Nichts mache euch Sorge, sondern laßt in allem durch Gebet und Flehen eure Anliegen unter Danksagung kundwerden vor Gott!
7 Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.	7 Und der Friede Gottes, der alles Begreifen übersteigt, wird eure Herzen und eure Gedanken behüten in Christus Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.	8 Im übrigen, Brüder, was wahr ist, was ehrbar, was gerecht, was rein, was liebenswert, was ansprechend, was es an Tugend und löblichen Dingen gibt, darauf richtet euren Sinn!
9 Keep on doing what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me. Then the God of peace will be with you.	9 Und was ihr gelernt und empfangen, gehört und gesehen habt an mir, das tut, und der Gott des Friedens wird mit euch sein.
10 I rejoice greatly in the Lord that now at last you revived your concern for me. You were, of course, concerned about me but lacked an opportunity.	10 Ich freute mich sehr im Herrn, daß ihr wieder einmal in die Lage kamt, fürsorgend an mich zu denken. Ihr dachtet ja daran, doch fehlte euch die Gelegenheit hierfür.
11 Not that I say this because of need, for I have learned, in whatever situation I find myself, to be self-sufficient.	11 Nicht, weil ich Mangel hätte, sage ich das; denn ich habe gelernt, in jeder Lage, in der ich bin, auszukommen.
12 I know indeed how to live in humble circumstances; I know also how to live with abundance. In every circumstance and in all things I have learned the secret of being well fed and of going hungry, of living in abundance and of being in need.	12 Ich weiß Not zu leiden, ich weiß aber auch Überfluß zu haben; mit allem und jedem bin ich vertraut, gesättigt zu sein und zu hungern, Überfluß zu haben und Mangel.
13 I have the strength for everything through him who empowers me.	13 Alles vermag ich in dem, der mich stärkt.
14 Still, it was kind of you to share in my distress.	14 Doch tatet ihr recht, daß ihr Anteil nahmt an meiner Bedrängnis.
15 You Philippians indeed know that at the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, not a single church shared with me in an account of giving and receiving, except you alone.	15 Ihr wißt ja selbst, liebe Philipper, daß in der ersten Zeit des Evangeliums, als ich von Mazedonien weiterreiste, keine Gemeinde mit mir Gemeinschaft hatte in bezug auf Geben und Nehmen als ihr allein.
16 For even when I was at Thessalonica you sent me something for my needs, not only once but more than once.	16 Auch in Thessalonich sandtet ihr mir mehr als einmal für meinen Bedarf.
17 It is not that I am eager for the gift; rather, I am eager for the profit that accrues to your account.	17 Nicht als ob es mir um die Gabe ginge, es geht mir vielmehr um den reichlich fließenden Gewinn, der euch zugute kommt.
18 I have received full payment and I abound. I am very well supplied because of what I received from you through Epaphroditus, "a fragrant aroma," an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.	18 Ich habe alles erhalten, und zwar mehr als genug; ich habe in Fülle, seit ich von Epaphroditus eure Spende erhielt als "lieblichen Wohlgeruch" (1Mos 8,21), als angenehmes Opfer, wohlgefällig vor Gott.
19 My God will fully supply whatever you need, in accord with his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.	19 Mein Gott wird alles, was ihr nötig habt, in Fülle euch geben gemäß dem Reichtum seiner Herrlichkeit in Christus Jesus.
20 To our God and Father, glory forever and ever. Amen.	20 Unserem Gott und Vater sei Ehre von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit! Amen.
21 Give my greetings to every holy one in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me send you their greetings;	21 Grüßt einen jeden Heiligen in Christus Jesus.
22 all the holy ones send you their greetings, especially those of Caesar's household.	22 Es grüßen euch die Brüder, die bei mir sind. Es grüßen euch alle Heiligen, vorzüglich die vom Hause des Kaisers.
23 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.	23 Die Gnade des Herrn Jesus Christus sei mit eurem Geiste! Amen.
