1 Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, in this way stand firm in the Lord, beloved.	1 Donc, frères bien-aimés que je voudrais revoir, vous, ma joie et ma couronne, restez fermes dans le Seigneur, mes bien-aimés.
2 I urge Euodia and I urge Syntyche to come to a mutual understanding in the Lord.	2 Je demande à Évodie et je demande à Syntiqué qu’elles travaillent ensemble dans le Seigneur.
3 Yes, and I ask you also, my true yokemate, to help them, for they have struggled at my side in promoting the gospel, along with Clement and my other co-workers, whose names are in the book of life.	3 Et toi, cher compagnon, je te demande de leur faire bon accueil car avec moi elles ont travaillé dur pour l’Évangile, de même que Clément et mes autres collaborateurs dont les noms sont inscrits au Livre de Vie.
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I shall say it again: rejoice!	4 Soyez joyeux dans le Seigneur. Je le répète: soyez joyeux en tout temps.
5 Your kindness should be known to all. The Lord is near.	5 Que tous vous trouvent accueillants. Le Seigneur est proche.
6 Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God.	6 Que rien ne vous tienne préoccupés; exposez plutôt vos demandes à Dieu à tout moment dans la prière, et joignez l’action de grâces à la supplication.
7 Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.	7 Alors la paix de Dieu que rien n’arrête viendra garder vos cœurs et vos esprits dans le Christ Jésus.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.	8 À part cela, frères, arrêtez-vous à tout ce qui est vrai, ce qui est saint, ce qui est juste, ce qui est pur, ce qui est fraternel, ce qui est noble, et à toutes les valeurs morales qu’on peut admirer.
9 Keep on doing what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me. Then the God of peace will be with you.	9 Faites ce qu’on vous a enseigné et que vous avez accueilli, ce que vous avez appris de moi et avez vu chez moi, et le Dieu de paix sera avec vous.
10 I rejoice greatly in the Lord that now at last you revived your concern for me. You were, of course, concerned about me but lacked an opportunity.	10 J’ai été très heureux dans le Seigneur en voyant refleurir votre préoccupation pour moi. Elle était toujours là, mais l’occasion vous manquait.
11 Not that I say this because of need, for I have learned, in whatever situation I find myself, to be self-sufficient.	11 Ce n’est pas le besoin qui me fait parler car j’ai appris à me suffire,
12 I know indeed how to live in humble circumstances; I know also how to live with abundance. In every circumstance and in all things I have learned the secret of being well fed and of going hungry, of living in abundance and of being in need.	12 je sais vivre avec rien et je sais vivre dans l’abondance. De mille manières je suis entraîné pour la faim comme pour la satiété, pour le manque et pour l’abondance;
13 I have the strength for everything through him who empowers me.	13 je peux tout en celui qui me fortifie.
14 Still, it was kind of you to share in my distress.	14 Mais vous avez bien fait de prendre part à mes épreuves.
15 You Philippians indeed know that at the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, not a single church shared with me in an account of giving and receiving, except you alone.	15 Vous le savez, Philippiens, quand je suis parti de Macédoine, dans les débuts de l’Évangile, aucune Église ne m’a ouvert un compte d’avoirs et de dettes: il n’y a eu que vous.
16 For even when I was at Thessalonica you sent me something for my needs, not only once but more than once.	16 Et quand j’étais à Thessalonique, par deux fois vous m’avez envoyé ce dont j’avais besoin.
17 It is not that I am eager for the gift; rather, I am eager for the profit that accrues to your account.	17 Ce n’est pas que je coure après vos dons; je désire plutôt que les intérêts s’accumulent sur votre compte.
18 I have received full payment and I abound. I am very well supplied because of what I received from you through Epaphroditus, "a fragrant aroma," an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.	18 Mais de fait j’ai assez et plus qu’assez. Je suis dans l’abondance avec ce que j’ai reçu d’Épaphrodite de votre part. C’était là une offrande authentique, agréable à Dieu et dont le parfum monte jusqu’à lui.
19 My God will fully supply whatever you need, in accord with his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.	19 Mon Dieu à son tour fera face à toutes vos nécessités selon la richesse de sa Gloire, dans le Christ Jésus.
20 To our God and Father, glory forever and ever. Amen.	20 Gloire soit à Dieu notre Père pour les siècles des siècles! Amen.
21 Give my greetings to every holy one in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me send you their greetings;	21 Mes saluts dans le Christ vont à tous les saints.
22 all the holy ones send you their greetings, especially those of Caesar's household.	22 Tous les frères qui sont avec moi vous saluent, spécialement ceux du palais de l’empereur.
23 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.	23 Que la grâce du Christ Jésus, le Seigneur, soit toujours avec votre esprit.
