Jesaja 8

EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Der Herr sagte zu mir: Nimm eine große Tafel und schreib darauf mit einem gewöhnlichen Griffel: Maher-Schalal- Hasch-Bas (Schnelle Beute - Rascher Raub).	1 Yahweh said to me, 'Take a large tablet and on it with an ordinary stylus write, "Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz".
2 Und ich nahm mir zuverlässige Zeugen, den Priester Urija und Secharja, den Sohn Jeberechjas.	2 And take reliable witnesses, the priest Uriah and Zechariah son of Jeberechiah.'
3 Dann ging ich zu der Prophetin und sie wurde schwanger und gebar einen Sohn. Da sagte der Herr zu mir: Gib ihm den Namen Maher-Schalal-Hasch-Bas!	3 I then had intercourse with the prophetess, who then conceived and gave birth to a son. Yahweh said tome, 'Cal him Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz,
4 Denn noch bevor der Knabe «Vater» und «Mutter» sagen lernt, wird man den Reichtum von Damaskus und die Beute von Samaria dem König von Assur vorantragen.	4 for before the child knows how to say "mother" or "father", the wealth of Damascus and the booty of Samaria wil be carried away while the king of Assyria looks on.'
5 Weiter sagte der Herr zu mir:	5 Yahweh spoke to me again and said,
6 Weil dieses Volk die ruhig dahinfließenden Wasser von Schiloach verachtet und vor Rezin und dem Sohn Remaljas verzagt,	6 'Since this people has rejected the waters of Shiloah which flow smoothly, and has trembled beforeRazon and the son of Remaliah,
7 darum wird der Herr die gewaltigen und großen Wasser des Eufrat [den König von Assur und seine ganze Macht] über sie dahinfluten lassen. Und der Fluss wird alle seine Kanäle überfluten und über alle Ufer treten.	7 now, against it, the Lord will bring the mighty, swel ing waters of the River (the king of Assyria and al hisglory); the River wil flood up all its channels and overflow al its banks;
8 Auch auf Juda wird er übergreifen, er wird es überfluten und überschwemmen, bis er den Leuten an den Hals reicht. Die Ausläufer seiner Fluten bedecken weit und breit dein Land, Immanuel.	8 it wil flow into Judah, flooding everything and passing on; it will reach right up to the neck, and the spreading of its wings wil cover the whole extent of your country, Immanuel!
9 Tobt, ihr Völker! Ihr werdet doch zerschmettert. Horcht auf, ihr Enden der Erde! Rüstet nur! Ihr werdet doch zerschmettert. Rüstet! Ihr werdet zerschmettert.	9 Realise this, peoples, and be afraid, listen, all members of far-off nations! Arm yourselves yet be afraid!Arm yourselves yet be afraid!
10 Macht nur Pläne! Sie werden vereitelt. Was ihr auch sagt, es kommt nicht zustande. Denn «Gott ist mit uns».	10 Devise plans as you may: they will come to nothing! Make what pronouncements you like; it wil notcome about! For God is with us!'
11 Denn so sprach der Herr, als seine Hand mich packte und er mich davon abhielt, auf dem Weg dieses Volkes zu gehen:	11 For this was how Yahweh spoke to me when his hand seized hold of me and he taught me not to fol owthe path of this people, saying,
12 Nennt nicht alles Verschwörung, was dieses Volk Verschwörung nennt. Was es fürchtet, sollt ihr nicht fürchten; wovor es erschrickt, davor sollt ihr nicht erschrecken.	12 'Do not call conspiracy al that this people calls conspiracy; do not dread what they dread, have no fearof that.
13 Den Herrn der Heere sollt ihr heilig halten; vor ihm sollt ihr euch fürchten, vor ihm sollt ihr erschrecken.	13 Yahweh Sabaoth is the one you wil proclaim holy, him you wil dread, him you wil fear.
14 Er wird das Heiligtum sein für die beiden Reiche Israels: der Stein, an dem man anstößt, der Felsen, an dem man zu Fall kommt. Eine Schlinge und Falle wird er sein für alle, die in Jerusalem wohnen.	14 He will be a sanctuary, a stumbling-stone, a rock to trip up the two Houses of Israel; a snare and a trapfor the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
15 Viele stolpern darüber, sie fallen und zerschellen; sie verstricken und verfangen sich.	15 over which many of them wil stumble, fal and be broken, be ensnared and made captive.
16 Ich will diese Warnung sorgfältig bewahren und die Lehre in meinen Jüngern wie mit einem Siegel verschließen.	16 Bind up the testimony, seal the instruction in the heart of my disciples.'
17 Ich will auf den Herrn warten, der jetzt sein Angesicht vor dem Haus Jakob verhüllt, auf ihn will ich hoffen.	17 My trust is in Yahweh who hides his face from the House of Jacob; I put my hope in him.
18 Seht, ich und die Kinder, die der Herr mir geschenkt hat, wir sind in Israel ein (warnendes) Zeichen, ein Mahnmal vom Herrn der Heere, der auf dem Berg Zion wohnt.	18 Look, I and the children whom Yahweh has given me shal become signs and portents in Israel onbehalf of Yahweh Sabaoth who dwel s on Mount Zion.
19 Wenn man euch sagt: Befragt die Totengeister und Zauberkundigen, die flüstern und murmeln!, (dann erwidert:) Soll ein Volk nicht lieber seinen Gott befragen? Warum soll man für die Lebenden die Toten befragen?	19 And should people say to you, 'Go and consult ghosts and wizards that whisper and mutter' -- a peopleshould certainly consult its gods and the dead on behalf of the living!
20 Lehre und Warnung: Wer nicht so denkt, für den gibt es kein Morgenrot.	20 As regards instruction and testimony, without doubt this is how they wil talk, and hence there wil be nodawn for them.
21 Er wandert umher, verdrossen und hungrig. Und wenn er hungert, dann wird er wütend und er verflucht seinen König und seinen Gott. Er blickt nach oben	21 Oppressed and starving he wil wander the country; and, once starving, he wil become frenzied andcurse his king and his God; turning his gaze upward,
22 und blickt zur Erde; aber überall sieht er nur Not, Finsternis und beängstigendes Dunkel. Doch die Finsternis wird verscheucht;	22 then down to earth, there wil be only anguish, gloom, the confusion of night, swirling darkness.
23 denn wer jetzt in Not ist, bleibt nicht im Dunkel. Einst hat er das Land Sebulon und das Land Naftali verachtet, aber später bringt er die Straße am Meer wieder zu Ehren, das Land jenseits des Jordan, das Gebiet der Heiden.	23 For is not everything dark as night for a country in distress? As the past humbled the land of Zebulunand the land of Naphtali, so the future will glorify the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan, the territory of thenations.
