Zaccaria 5

NOVA VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Et conversus sum et levavi ocu los meos et vidi: et ecce volu men volans.	1 Again raising my eyes, I had a vision. There was a flying scrol .
2 Et dixit ad me: “Quid tu vides?”. Et dixi: “Ego video volumen volans;longitudo eius viginti cubitorum et latitudo eius decem cubitorum”.	2 The angel who was talking to me said, 'What do you see?' I replied, 'I see a flying scroll; it is twenty cubits long and ten cubits wide.'
3 Et dixitad me: “Haec est maledictio, quae egreditur super faciem omnis terrae; quiaomnis fur hinc iuxta illud expurgatur, et omnis periurus illinc iuxta illudexpurgatur.	3 He then said to me, 'This is God's curse sweeping across the face of the whole country; for, accordingto what it says on one side, every thief wil be banished and, according to what it says on the other, everyonewho commits perjury in my name wil be banished from it.
4 Educo illud, dicit Dominus exercituum, et veniet ad domum furis etad domum iurantis in nomine meo mendaciter; et commorabitur in medio domus eius,et consumet eam et ligna eius et lapides eius”.	4 I am going to release it -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- for it to enter the house of the thief and ofanyone who commits perjury in my name, for it to settle deep within his house and consume it, timber, stone andal .'
5 Et egressus est angelus, qui loquebatur in me, et dixit ad me: “Leva,quaeso, oculos tuos et vide. Quid est hoc, quod egreditur?”.	5 The angel who was talking to me appeared and said to me, 'Raise your eyes, and see what this is,going along.'
6 Et dixi: “Quidnamest?”. Et ait: “Haec est epha egrediens”. Et dixit: “Hoc est peccatumeorum in universa terra”.	6 I said, 'What is it?' He said, 'It is a bushel measure going along.' He went on, 'This is their guiltthroughout the country.'
7 Et ecce operculum plumbi elevatum est, et eccemulier una sedens in medio ephae.	7 At this, a disc of lead was raised, and I saw a woman sitting inside the barrel.
8 Et dixit: “Haec est impietas”. Etproiecit eam in epham et misit massam plumbeam in os eius.	8 He said, 'This is Wickedness.' And he rammed her back into the barrel and jammed its mouth shut withthe mass of lead.
9 Et levavi oculos meos et vidi: et ecce duae mulieres egredientes, et ventus inalis earum, et habebant alas quasi alas milvi; et levaverunt epham inter terramet caelum.	9 I raised my eyes, and there were two women appearing. The wind caught their wings -- they had wingslike a stork's; they raised the barrel midway between earth and heaven.
10 Et dixi ad angelum, qui loquebatur in me: “Quo istae deferuntepham?”.	10 I then said to the angel who was talking to me, 'Where are they taking the barrel?'
11 Et dixit ad me: “Ut aedificetur ei domus in terra Sennaar; et,postquam constructa fuerit, ponetur ibi super basem suam”.	11 He replied, 'To build a temple for it in the land of Shinar and make a pedestal on which to put it.'
