1 Al principio dell'anno venticinquesimo della nostra deportazione, il dieci del mese, quattordici anni da quando era stata presa la città, in quel medesimo giorno, la mano del Signore fu sopra di me ed egli mi condusse là.	1 In the twenty-fifth year of our captivity, at the beginning of the year, on the tenth day of the month,fourteen years to the day from the capture of the city, the hand of Yahweh was on me. He carried me away:
2 In visione divina mi condusse nella terra d'Israele e mi pose sopra un monte altissimo sul quale sembrava costruita una città, dal lato di mezzogiorno.	2 in divine visions, he carried me away to the land of Israel and put me down on a very high mountain,on the south of which there seemed to be built a city.
3 Egli mi condusse là: ed ecco un uomo, il cui aspetto era come di bronzo, in piedi sulla porta, con una cordicella di lino in mano e una canna per misurare.	3 He took me to it, and there I saw a man, whose appearance was like brass. He had a flax cord and ameasuring rod in his hand and was standing in the gateway.
4 Quell'uomo mi disse: "Figlio dell'uomo: osserva e ascolta attentamente e fa' attenzione a quanto io sto per mostrarti, perché tu sei stato condotto qui perché io te lo mostri e tu manifesti alla casa d'Israele quello che avrai visto".	4 The man said to me, 'Son of man, look careful y, listen closely and pay attention to everything I showyou, since you have been brought here only for me to show it to you. Tel the House of Israel everything that yousee.'
5 Ed ecco il tempio era tutto recinto da un muro. La canna per misurare che l'uomo teneva in mano era di sei cubiti, d'un cubito e un palmo ciascuno. Egli misurò lo spessore del muro: era una canna, e l'altezza una canna.	5 Now, the Temple was surrounded on all sides by an outer wall. The man was holding a measuring rodsix cubits long, each cubit a forearm and a handsbreadth. He measured the thickness of this construction -- onerod; and its height -- one rod.
6 Poi andò alla porta che guarda a oriente, salì i gradini e misurò la soglia della porta; era una canna di larghezza.	6 He went to the east gate, climbed the steps and measured its threshold: one rod deep.
7 Ogni stanza misurava una canna di lunghezza e una di larghezza, da una stanza all'altra vi erano cinque cubiti: anche la soglia del portico dal lato dell'atrio della porta stessa, verso l'interno, era di una canna.	7 Each guardroom one rod by one rod; and the piers between the guardrooms five cubits thick, and thethreshold of the gate inwards from the porch of the gate: one rod.
8 Misurò l'atrio della porta: era di otto cubiti;	8
9 i pilastri di due cubiti. L'atrio della porta era verso l'interno.	9 He measured the porch of the gate: eight cubits; its piers: two cubits; the porch of the gate was at theinner end.
10 Le stanze della porta a oriente erano tre da una parte e tre dall'altra, tutt'e tre della stessa grandezza, come di una stessa misura erano i pilastri da una parte e dall'altra.	10 There were three guardrooms on each side of the east gate, al three of the same size; the piersbetween them al of the same thickness each side.
11 Misurò la larghezza dell'apertura del portico: era di dieci cubiti; l'ampiezza della porta era di tredici cubiti.	11 He measured the width of the entrance: ten cubits; and the width al down the gateway: thirteencubits.
12 Davanti alle stanze vi era un parapetto di un cubito, da un lato e dall'altro; ogni stanza misurava sei cubiti per lato.	12 There was a rail in front of the guardrooms; each rail on either side was one cubit. And theguardrooms on either side were six cubits square.
13 Misurò poi il portico dal tetto di una stanza al suo opposto; la larghezza era di venticinque cubiti; da un'apertura all'altra;	13 He measured the width of the gate from the back wal of one guardroom to the back wall of the other;it was twenty-five cubits across, the openings being opposite each other.
14 i pilastri li calcolò alti sessanta cubiti, dai pilastri cominciava il cortile che circondava la porta.	14 He measured the porch: twenty cubits; the court surrounded the gate on al sides.
15 Dalla facciata della porta d'ingresso alla facciata dell'atrio della porta interna vi era uno spazio di cinquanta cubiti.	15 From the front of the entrance gate, to the far end of the porch of the inner gate: fifty cubits.
16 Le stanze e i pilastri avevano finestre con grate verso l'interno, intorno alla porta, come anche vi erano finestre intorno che davano sull'interno dell'atrio. Sui pilastri erano disegnate palme.	16 Al round inside the gate there were trel ised windows in the guardrooms and in their piers; similarly,in the porch there were windows all round and palm trees on the piers.
17 Poi mi condusse nel cortile esterno e vidi delle stanze e un lastricato costruito intorno al cortile; trenta erano le stanze lungo il lastricato.	17 He then took me to the outer court, which had rooms and a paved terrace going all the way round;there were thirty rooms on this terrace.
18 Il lastricato si estendeva ai lati delle porte per una estensione uguale alla larghezza delle porte stesse: era il lastricato inferiore.	18 This terrace, which came up to the sides of the gates and matched their depth, was the LowerTerrace. He measured the width of the court,
19 Misurò lo spazio dalla facciata della porta inferiore da oriente a settentrione alla facciata della porta interna, erano cento cubiti.	19 from the front of the lower gate to the fac ade of the inner court, outside: a hundred cubits (on theeast and on the north).
20 Poi misurò la lunghezza e la larghezza della porta che guarda a settentrione e conduce al cortile esterno.	20 He measured the length and breadth of the north gate of the outer court.
21 Le sue stanze, tre da una parte e tre dall'altra, i pilastri, l'atrio avevano le stesse dimensioni della prima porta: cinquanta cubiti di lunghezza per venticinque di larghezza.	21 It had three guardrooms on each side; its piers and porch were of the same size as those of the firstgate: fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide.
22 Le finestre, l'atrio e le palme avevano le stesse dimensioni di quelle della porta che guarda a oriente. Vi si accedeva per sette scalini: l'atrio era davanti.	22 Its windows, its porch and its palm trees were of the same size as those of the east gate. There were seven steps up to it, and its porch was at the inner end.
23 Di fronte al portico di settentrione vi era la porta, come di fronte a quello di oriente; misurò la distanza fra portico e portico: vi erano cento cubiti.	23 In the inner court there was, opposite the north gate, a gate like the one opposite the east gate. Hemeasured the distance from one gate to the other: a hundred cubits.
24 Mi condusse poi verso mezzogiorno: ecco un portico rivolto a mezzogiorno. Ne misurò i pilastri e l'atrio; avevano le stesse dimensioni.	24 He took me to the south side where there was a south gate; he measured its guardrooms, piers andporch; they were of the same size as the others.
25 Intorno al portico, come intorno all'atrio, vi erano finestre uguali alle altre finestre. Esso misurava cinquanta cubiti di lunghezza per venticinque di larghezza.	25 The gateway, as wel as its porch, had windows al round, like the windows of the others; it was fiftycubits long and twenty-five cubits wide,
26 Vi si accedeva per sette gradini: il vestibolo stava verso l'interno. Sui pilastri, da una parte e dall'altra, vi erano ornamenti di palme.	26 and it had seven steps up to it; its porch was at the inner end and had palm trees on its piers, one oneither side.
27 Il cortile interno aveva un portico verso mezzogiorno; egli misurò la distanza fra porta e porta in direzione del mezzogiorno; erano cento cubiti.	27 The inner court had a south gate; he measured the distance southwards from one gate to the other: ahundred cubits.

30 Intorno vi erano vestiboli di venticinque cubiti di lunghezza per cinque di larghezza.	30 The gateway, as wel as its porch, had windows al round; it was fifty cubits long and twenty-fivecubits wide.
31 Il suo vestibolo era rivolto verso l'atrio esterno; sui pilastri c'erano ornamenti di palme; i gradini per i quali si accedeva erano otto.	31 The porch gave on to the outer court. It had palm trees on its piers and eight steps leading up to it.
32 Poi mi condusse al portico dell'atrio interno che guarda a oriente e lo misurò: aveva le solite dimensioni.	32 He took me to the eastern part of the inner court and measured the gate. It was of the same size asthe others.
33 Le stanze, i pilastri e l'atrio avevano le stesse dimensioni. Intorno al portico, come intorno all'atrio, vi erano finestre. Esso misurava cinquanta cubiti di lunghezza per venticinque di larghezza.	33 Its guardrooms, piers and porch were of the same size as the others. The gateway, as well as itsporch, had windows al round; it was fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide.

36 come le stanze, i pilastri e l'atrio. Intorno vi erano finestre. Esso misurava cinquanta cubiti di lunghezza per venticinque di larghezza.	36 Its guardrooms, piers and porch were of the same size as the others. The gateway had windows alround; it was fifty cubits long and twenty-five cubits wide.
37 Il suo vestibolo dava sull'atrio esterno; sui pilastri, da una parte e dall'altra, c'erano ornamenti di palme: i gradini per cui vi si accedeva erano otto.	37 Its porch gave on to the outer court. There were palm trees on its piers on either side and eight stepsleading up to it.
38 C'era anche una stanza con la porta vicino ai pilastri dei portici; là venivano lavati gli olocausti.	38 There was a room, the entrance to which was in the porch of the gateway, where they washed theburnt offerings.
39 Nell'atrio del portico vi erano due tavole da una parte e due dall'altra, sulle quali venivano sgozzati gli olocausti e i sacrifici espiatori e di riparazione.	39 And inside the porch of the gateway were slabs, two on either side, for slaughtering the burntofferings, the sacrifice for sin and the sacrifice of reparation.
40 Altre due tavole erano sul lato esterno, a settentrione di chi entra nel portico, e due tavole all'altro lato presso l'atrio del portico.	40 Outside, at the approach to the entrance of the north gate, were two slabs, and on the other side, atthe porch end of the gate were two slabs.
41 Così a ciascun lato del portico c'erano quattro tavole da una parte e quattro tavole dall'altra: otto tavole in tutto. Su di esse si sgozzavano le vittime.	41 There were four slabs on one side and four slabs on the other side of the gateway, eight slabs in all,on which the slaughtering was done.
42 C'erano poi altre quattro tavole di pietre squadrate, per gli olocausti, lunghe un cubito e mezzo, larghe un cubito e mezzo e alte un cubito: su di esse venivano deposti gli strumenti con i quali si immolavano gli olocausti e gli altri sacrifici.	42 There were also four slabs of dressed stone for the burnt offerings, a cubit and a half long, a cubitand a half wide and a cubit high, on which the instruments for slaughtering the burnt offerings and sacrifice wereplaced;
43 Uncini d'un palmo erano attaccati all'interno tutt'intorno; sulle tavole si mettevano le carni delle offerte.	43 runnels a handsbreadth wide went al round the top, and on these slabs was put the sacrificial flesh.
44 Fuori del portico interno, nell'atrio interno, vi erano due stanze: quella accanto al portico settentrionale guardava a mezzogiorno, l'altra accanto al portico meridionale guardava a settentrione.	44 Then he took me into the inner court; there were two rooms in the inner court, one on the side of thenorth gate, facing south, the other on the side of the south gate, facing north.
45 Egli mi disse: "La stanza che guarda a mezzogiorno è per i sacerdoti che hanno cura del tempio,	45 He told me, 'The room looking south is for the priests responsible for the service of the Temple,
46 mentre la stanza che guarda a settentrione è per i sacerdoti che hanno cura dell'altare: sono essi i figli di Zadòk che, tra i figli di Levi, si avvicinano al Signore per il suo servizio".	46 and the room looking north is for the priests responsible for the service of the altar. These are thesons of Zadok, those of the sons of Levi who approach Yahweh to serve him.'
47 Misurò quindi l'atrio: era un quadrato di cento cubiti di larghezza per cento di lunghezza. L'altare era di fronte al tempio.	47 He measured the court; it was a hundred cubits long and a hundred cubits wide, a square with thealtar standing in front of the Temple.
48 Mi condusse poi nell'atrio del tempio e ne misurò i pilastri: erano ognuno cinque cubiti da una parte e cinque cubiti dall'altra; la larghezza del portico: tre cubiti da una parte e tre cubiti dall'altra.	48 He took me to the Ulam of the Temple and measured the piers of the Ulam: five cubits either side;and the width of the entrance was three cubits either side.
49 La lunghezza del vestibolo era di venti cubiti e la larghezza di dodici cubiti. Vi si accedeva per mezzo di dieci gradini; accanto ai pilastri c'erano due colonne, una da una parte e una dall'altra.	49 The length of the Ulam was twenty cubits and its width twelve cubits. There were ten steps leadingup to it, and there were columns by the piers, one on either side.
