16 y Jacob engendró a José, el esposo de María, de la que nació Jesús, llamado Cristo.	16 and Jacob fathered Joseph the husband of Mary; of her was born Jesus who is called Christ.
17 Así que el total de las generaciones son: desde Abraham hasta David, catorce generaciones; desde David hasta la deportación a Babilonia, catorce generaciones; desde la deportación a Babilonia hasta Cristo, catorce generaciones.	17 The sum of generations is therefore: fourteen from Abraham to David; fourteen from David to theBabylonian deportation; and fourteen from the Babylonian deportation to Christ.

23 Ved que la virgen concebirá y dará a luz un hijo, y le pondrán por nombre Emmanuel, que traducido significa: «Dios con nosotros».	23 Look! the virgin is with child and will give birth to a son whom they wil cal Immanuel, a name whichmeans 'God-is-with-us'.
24 Despertado José del sueño, hizo como el Angel del Señor le había mandado, y tomó consigo a su mujer.	24 When Joseph woke up he did what the angel of the Lord had told him to do: he took his wife to hishome;
25 Y no la conocía hasta que ella dio a luz un hijo, y le puso por nombre Jesús.	25 he had not had intercourse with her when she gave birth to a son; and he named him Jesus.
