2 Thessalonians 3

1 Final y, brothers, pray for us that the Lord's message may spread quickly, and be received with honouras it was among you;	1 Del resto, o fratelli, pregate per noi affinchè la parola di Dio si propaghi e sia glorificata come fra voi,
2 and pray that we may be preserved from bigoted and evil people, for not everyone has faith.	2 e siamo liberati dai protervi e dagli uomini cattivi, perchè non tutti hanno la fede.
3 You can rely on the Lord, who wil give you strength and guard you from the evil One,	3 Ma Dio è fedele, e vi conforterà e vi difenderà dal maligno.
4 and we, in the Lord, have every confidence in you, that you are doing and wil go on doing al that wetel you.	4 Or riguardo a voi, abbiamo fiducia nel Signore che fate e farete quanto vi ordiniamo.
5 May the Lord turn your hearts towards the love of God and the perseverance of Christ.	5 Il Signore poi dirige i vostri cuori nell'amore di Dio e nella pazienza di Cristo.
6 In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we urge you, brothers, to keep away from any of the brothers wholives an undisciplined life, not in accordance with the tradition you received from us.	6 Vi prescriviamo poi, o fratelli, nel nome del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo di tenervi lontani da qualunque fratello che vive disordinatamente e non secondo la dottrina che ha da noi ricevuta.
7 You know how you should take us as your model: we were not undisciplined when we were with you,	7 E voi stessi ben sapete che dobbiate fare per imitarci; perchè tra di voi non vivemmo disordinatamente,
8 nor did we ever accept food from anyone without paying for it; no, we worked with unsparing energy,night and day, so as not to be a burden on any of you.	8 nè mangiammo a ufo il pane di nessuno, ma con fatica e stenti abbiamo lavorato giorno e notte, per non essere d'aggravio ad alcuno di voi.
9 This was not because we had no right to be, but in order to make ourselves a model for you to imitate.	9 E ciò non perchè non ne avessimo il diritto, ma per darvi in noi stessi un modello da imitare.
10 We urged you when we were with you not to let anyone eat who refused to work.	10 Ed anche quando eravamo fra voi vi davamo questo precetto: chi non vuol lavorare, non mangi.
11 Now we hear that there are some of you who are living lives without any discipline, doing no workthemselves but interfering with other people's.	11 Noi però abbiamo sentito dire esservi tra voi alcuni che vivono disordinatamente, senza far nulla, o affaccendati in cose vane.
12 In the Lord Jesus Christ, we urge and cal on people of this kind to go on quietly working and earningthe food that they eat.	12 Or a questi tali prescriviamo, scongiurandoli nel Signore Gesù Cristo, di guadagnarsi il pane che mangiano lavorando tranquillamente.
13 My brothers, never slacken in doing what is right.	13 Ma voi, fratelli, non vi stancate di fare il bene.
14 If anyone refuses to obey what I have written in this letter, take note of him and have nothing to dowith him, so that he wil be ashamed of himself,	14 E se qualcuno non ubbidisce a quanto diciamo in questa lettera, notatelo e non abbiate con lui relazione, affinchè si vergogni.
15 though you are not to treat him as an enemy, but to correct him as a brother.	15 Non lo riguardate però come nemico, ma correggetelo come fratello.
16 May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at al times and in every way. The Lord be with you all.	16 Il Signore stesso della pace vi doni la pace in ogni tempo e in ogni luogo. Il Signore sia con tutti voi.
17 This greeting is in my own hand-PAUL. It is the mark of genuineness in every letter; this is my own writing.	17 Il saluto è di mia propria mano, di me, Paolo; ed è come il sigillo in ogni mia lettera. Io scrivo così.
18 May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.	18 La grazia del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo sia con voi tutti. Cosi sia.
